Max, the e-turbo feeding boost to the battery and motor is how the MGU-H works in F1. Instead of limiting boost pressure by dumping excess pressure in recirc or blowoff, the electric motor adds drag (same as regen on the drive motor) to the compressor shaft, slowing it. Which creates electricity routed back to the battery or the motor directly. So same concept as regen from the wheels, but on the turbo. Very clever.
@gettjerry2362 never said so, I js don't like the push to start instead of the key thing, and also, I'm not a big fan of the completely digital gauge cluster. Imo all these changes give it a cheaper feeling, I think it would be great if the changes were optional.

That said, this news won't influence the price of a 997.1 because it was already clear that it will be so damn modern that it isn't even a comparison anymore. They're such different cars. A 992.2 buyer is completely different from a 997.1 buyer. Also concerning the other comment, I definitely don't think it will increase prices of the 992.1. That's absolutely absurd. The 992.2 I'm sure is a technological marvel and the electric turbo is pretty cool for what it is and due to its ability to eliminate turbo lag even more it will probably feel more naturally aspirated than all of the turbo charged 991 and 992 cars... I could be wrong, I have not yet driven one and I'm not the typical buyer of such cars. If I had the money I'd get a GT3 or GT4 RS. That said, if hybridisation allows us to keep larger engines and still fulfill emission standards I'm all for it. I think it's awesome that the Revuelto came out with a NA V12 in 2024 and that is only thanks to hybrid drivetrain.
My tip is the 992.2 GT3RS (possibly even the GT3) will use the mighty 4.0 naturally aspirated currently in both with the HYBRID BACKUP. Time will tell!

I like that new hybrud system is small and not very heavy and give power in a more precise way, not very big batteries. Like to see that system in outer cars from VW group gas or turbo diesel is very interesting idea. 😅😅😅

why BMW dont do electric turbo and electric motor in gearbox, instead they do big cow 2.5tonnes which is slower than f90 wtf, who need electric distance in M5 XD

I appreciate and like tour content, but I seriously hope (after 3 million kms covered in 2018 since 1998, i stopped count, but it is like a linear function tbh), that these kind of cars are not available to general public just on the grounds of ability to afford it. It should really come, with at least a hint, of what power one becomes indulged with, during which indulgence, one should know their driving capabilities, and be pretty advanced in braking from high speeds.
