No it won’t. No one buys a Porsche for the tach, you buy it for the driving experience. But I agree, it’s sad the analogue tach has gone, hopefully they hear the complaints and bring it back.
Why should the new model be the same as the “older” one? If you prefer the previous generation that is fine, I also do actually, plenty of good value offers out there there. Enjoy in good health

The sound is different compared to the pre facelift version. Not this high pitched on the top end an more aggressive down low. I like it.

Is it bcs of the increase in engine displacement? Also the gear ratio seems to be a little different

Porsche is notorious for undervaluing their power, it woudnt surprise me if this had 420-430 on dyno. Also we live in a age where 400 hp is somehow a small number lol, Ferrari F360 had 400 hp and was considered a pinnacle at the time.

I would rather have a Basic 911 Carrera as a daily driver, i can find some good 992.1 at a reasonable price, i am drooling the over the Dakar, but at prices of 320k€ it is out of my current lifestyle

Generally agree, but at least the screens are still neatly incorporated into the dashboard, unlike so many other new cars that just have those ugly ultrawide displays shamelessly stuck on top of the dash 😉

No analog tach and no real key is really a downgrade...
I don’t mind the digital tachometer so much. It’s more accurate than analog Most analog gauges can’t keep up with a quick revving engine.
Busy day on the road . I guess that last Silver base had the space to really wring out and scream . I think it was that 4/5 or 5/6 shift where it was really singing before the shift on the Silver one . Porsche likes Max 😁

Same, and a GTS costs 15.000€ more. The engine is also tuninig-friendly, so go to 9FF or LCE Performance and you can upgrade to into ranges at 600 horsepower.
Yup, it has GTS turbos. I’m sure this would be on par with the tune GTS 992.
What a machine
The car will be great, as Porsche don't miss with their flagship vehicle. But the decision to go to a fully digital tach as well as changing the iconic turnkey into a button are disappointing. Now it feels more and more like another car that shares similarities with other cars from other brands beneath the vast VW umbrella.

Pick of the range, excluding GT models ofc! Base Carrera is even better now with upgraded breaks and gts turbos. A tune on this will be +180ps no doubt. Model T will be the sweetspot i reckon.
Just imagine what the top spec 911 Turbo S will be like. Well over 700bhp, and if it does have the electric motor or some sort of hybrid system. Let's hope it'll be above 750bhp+

992.1 had opf. 991.2 I think was the last model without.

So weird that they switched the launched control sound in this new 911 from the usual ding-dong to the ding-ding-ding used for alerts like door open. Yet they kept the ding-dong sound for the traction control status alert and other alerts that use it. Other recent Porsche models (like new Panamera and Macan) still use the ding-dong sound for launch control.

The wide body is an obstacle at high speed. This car isn’t actually faster on top speed as a 996 Carrera back then. But even in Germany this is more or less irrelevant - let alone ALL other countries on this planet! Cheers from Germany 🇩🇪

A lot of noise for almost nothing. dashboard Speed 294KPH/ Draggy GPS Real Speed 276KPH. SO 18KPH Lies. Porsches continues their Bullshits to justify the tarification by Liying to their Customers. ( Sorry for my bad english ). The car is very nice and good , no need that.

992.1 owner here. Performance is always great, but the interior is too sleek or even.boring. I have to say there are serious quality issues with my car. Cheap materials, loose plastic parts, poor leather quality, fogging windows and on and on. Certainly no match for 200k car.

Sportscar driving is completely nice. But to start with a strong first acceleration still in the area of the rest station is not funny - guy!
the instrument cluster is appalling, and frankly this car should be limited to 250 with much shorter gear ratio
.. it starts to get very sloppy at 230, and takes forever to try to reach 300.
there is no reason to buy one of these at these price tags.
One is way better off buying a Ferrari 458 on used market with al the beautiful interiors they come with rather than a base 911 where u have to drop minimum 20k of optional or dealer wont sell it to you AND STILL HAVE A car interior that is literally nothing different than a VW Golf.
