@silviarse 8200 is huge revs for that size motor in that class car. Would surprise me if 8200 was max torque though?, but I accept you "could" know as I didn't build that motor as you said. But I can hear the exhaust and induction and it is not (to me) being driven optimally? Yes I know about 'feathering the throttle" I own cars that requires careful thought when feeding on the power too. As for hitting the Monaro, was a pity, as bent cars never go back to good as new, I know through the trade
@OlBlueshound by memory i thing it made its peak hp at 8200, so clearly not over reving it. and feathering the throttle is the best way to get the car to accelerate out of the turns, its not a hyundia mate, you cant just snap the throttle open unless u wanna be facing the opposite direction.
Was loving it rig up to the point he smacked the monaro. Thus is not professional racing so I suppose this will happen, but there was no room to squeeze past there.
@dmied1 lastly about the cars,they must survive so hopefully others can see, own & enjoy them and they are not lost to people with little regard for their history and too much money to care! My original comment on this video has been explained and I even admitted to being just my point of view. I hate seeing any car trashed, I know these are replicas but still they can be driven not abused. I still say I'm right on the over rev comment, past max torque. Max torque is not at max RPM usuly

Did you watch the driving and listen to the motor etc? Did you think much on the fact these old classics are too rare to damage unnecessarily? Listen to the motor, it's past the Torque peak and he's feathering it along instead of changing up and using the torque. Plus he hit the other car needlessly, Taking a Classic car racing is fun I know, but you can avoid the damage and learn to drive it, so it lives another day for someone else to enjoy next.

You are entitled to your belief system, specially if it works for you. We have different opinions based on our value systems for these old cars also. I suppose you would know where the engines peak hp is as you assembled it??

What is the problem in denting these cars, it's not like they are denting a real car like mustang, corvette, challenger etc, it's just an ausi shitter
