You guys are becoming great DIYers. It sure does beat paying someone and you get a better feeling of satisfaction 👍

Yeah satisfaction is deffo a motivation as well as not getting ripped off, I honestly wouldn't mind paying people and I still pay people for things, it's just the prices I get quoted are INSANE. Also, the best thing about DIY is that you can take your time and change your mind without harassment and if something needs fixing down the road, you know how to do it.

I just bought a home with these in every room but none of them work. To be clear, the wire is non-electrical and can just be snipped? This video is so helpful, thank you!!

Those systems are still very useful IMHO as they have an Auxiliary Audio input (5-pin DIN) on most Setups. Use mine regularly for Radio and have a Chromecast audio hooked to it as well.

Are you worried that the wires are still live and putting them back in the wall?

Wait so the hole visible in 4:05 is filled with a large amount with Putty filler?
    Just tryna clarify

Yeah, just shoved a good amount on then left it a day or two to fully harden, then sanded it down hard and layered on a little more to soften out the bumps then sanded that down lightly before painting.
