I'm impressed how accurately it captures that authentic digital sound - if you close your eyes you would never know that you're not listening to a real plugin. Well done!
Nice 👍 I thought about using that for this demo, but a. Didn’t want to step on my friends at ML Sounds toes, and b. Everyone has been telling me how great the pectifier plug-in was.
I had never considered this possibility, but in my defense, my experience in the digital realm is limited. This is so meta… haha. These devices are definitely encouraging me to look at gear differently.
Love the video!! Did you do anything as far as the plug-in volume itself? Or is it literally just a matter of dialing in the tone I like, regardless of “volume” (to an extent of course) and just capture it that way? Thanks for the info!
Thanks! There's a monitor on the Quad Cortex that shows you where you want the output volume. Other than that, it's just a matter of preference. If your volume is extremely low and you compensate with the gain on the QC, you will get more noise in the capture
That is interesting. Try something 8 bit~ish. Something that isn't in the world of the qc, and you don't have tucked away somewhere. That's where that feature would shine.
So, download the trials and capture all of the amp models, is that what you’re saying? Mine finally arrives tomorrow after being on the 3rd shipment release with the only Australian Authorised supplier.
i would have liked to see you tweak the tone in the quad cotex after it was captured and more, would have liked to see the framus fired up in the background.
So theoretically if I wanted too I can capture a plug-in say like a trial and keep it without paying for it? Just theoretical not actually gonna do it…..
Time to capture every variation of the ML Amped Dual 👀 This could also make a fun comparison once Neural gets there: Their plugin integrations vs captures of said plugins Speaking of Dual rects, when's the next "Rank that Recto"? Probably got a mouthful in one comment, but now I'm excited and curious about stuff
Thanks for asking. I’m not sure! I was on the fence about keeping it as a series, but I definitely want to give it a couple more chances before I axe it.
can you adjust the amp perimeters within the capture or do you have to get it where you want it beforehand and just live with that tone in the capture?
It has gain, low, mid, treble and vol controls on the capture blocks, but they are more of a post EQ than anything. You really want to capture your source as you want it to sound with minimal post tweaking for the best result.
I literally can't figure out what cable goes where..i made captures of a plugin before and forgot how to do it, and now i just cant figure it out. Where u have your guitar to actually hear yourself before making the capture? can you please write it down here what goes where cuz im so lost and cant find any video that explains it better
would one of the l-r monitor outputs on a motu m2 work similar to the "Output 3" on the apollo, as the motu m2 doesn't seem to have dedicated outputs except it's monitor outs?
Id love to use it to capture the Petrucci Acoustic amp from his Archetype plug in. Its the only one that I'm not sure can be somewhat emulated with the base amps on the QC.
Can you capture a plugin if you only use the QC as audio interface? In your example, you used the Apollo Twin Duo for audio interface. This is a great video and opens up many possibilities. Thank you
Hi, I have heavily modified amps in my axe fx III, but I can use only two at once on AFXIII. Just wondering if it's possible to use 4 captures at once in QC (I mean two per IN 1 , other two per IN 2) . Or from the other way - Is [Capture] much more cpu consuming that a regular [Amp+Cab] in QC?
I wish I discovered your channel earlier ! Especially THAT ONE video. Just captured a few variants of a plugin's settings, the difference between original and capture is very negligible. In a mix, no one can tell which is which.
What's up bro? My question is: is it worth it? Alright, you can capture Pectifier by nalex, but isn't is better the Quad Cortex dual Rectifier than the Pectifier? Just wondering.
Is capturing a plug-in worth it? Depends. I just demonstrated the pectifier plug-in because it’s free. If you have a plug-in sound that you really love and want it in your QC, definitely worth it.
You don't always have access to tube amps, so plugins are a great choice, specially if you capture boutique plugin amps or rare plugin amps, like the Smolski Powerball or even the Fortin Nameless (wich is a Fortin Meshuggah). With this feature you don't have to wait for Neural DSP to make their plugins compatible with the Quad Cortex, you can simply capture them.
@@michaelrock good point. I was wondering if the pre existing captures included in the Quad Cortex are worth the price. But I see your point and Taylor's. I'm thinking about buying a Quad Cortex but it's pretty expensive.
Having a bit of trouble with this... physical pedals work fine, but when I try to capture guitar rig pro stuff in studio one the levels are all wrong :/ The preview comes through fine before I start the capture, but in capture mode I notice the levels in the daw clipping and then the capture doesn't have anywhere near the drive of the source material
Dude... does this mean you can put nameless into the quad?😮 Man i also always wanted the vtar jambi in a modeler, if this works the potential is INSANE
@@jrox8180 thanks for reminding me about this intro 😆 Fun story, I ripped out that flooring like 6 months later and it smelled HORRENDOUS. That coffee got under the flooring and soaked into the fake wood

Can’t wait to capture some STL Tonehub presets that I use in my music! Specifically the Lee Malia “Follow You” clean tones 😍
I captured Amped Roots and I honestly can't tell the difference.
I'm planning on capturing all my favourite stuff from my Pod Go before I sell it.

I've never seen your channel before. As soon as I saw your guitar in the first frame, I hit fullscreen and leaned back.
This is fucking wild. Cannot wait to capture some Nolly tones that have been dialed in on the PC
Thanks for checking out this plugin duder. Sounds great \m/

Nicely done! Not too surprising.

Now you can
@@johnjorrelazc Yes. Waiting for more so I can pick my free plugin ^^
This Nalex Pectifier sounds surprisingly good for a free plugin, plus looks really nice.

This feature is the main reason to own one IMO. Everything is else is pretty average, aside from the aesthetics
@@TaylorDanley I didn’t know that, glad dudes like you make these kinds of videos then!

tipping over the coffee cup was the best part of the vid LOL
420th like on the video! You my good sir just hit quite the milestone!
If I bought a QC I’d totally capture all my Neural DSP plugins for shits and giggles
That is interesting. Try something 8 bit~ish. Something that isn't in the world of the qc, and you don't have tucked away somewhere. That's where that feature would shine.
I doubt it would work, the capture feature supposedly doesn't even work on fuzzes yet 🤷♂️ I'll get around to trying some more out there stuff soon.
So, download the trials and capture all of the amp models, is that what you’re saying?

Going to have to save my paper route money to get one

I would so use this to capture the LePou legion amp. Absolutely love that plug-in, paired with a good IR and boosted 👌
