I've recently had lots of snow in my area and am surprised these tires performed better than as reviewed on TireRack. And one of my hobbies is studying tire technology. The tires are on a 2020 Kia Soul. Drove on ice and snow and they worked well. Stopping was good. The snow was hard packed by snow plows. I can't say how they will work in deep unplowed snow, however.
OEM tires on a Hyundai, these tires couldn't even handle a bit of rain. Like driving around on banana peels. Wasn't suicidal enough to try them in the snow.
I'll believe it's snow capability when you provide a video of it really being driven in 1-inch or more of snow. Tire Rack's user reviews rates this tire very poorly for it's use in any amount of snow. It is an "eco" low rolling resistance tire and has traded grip for mileage improvement. How can all those reviewers be wrong?
@@bojanklesexperience Thanks for the response. So from what I've learned recently is if the outer edge grooves are not wide enough, the tires won't grip in the snow. When I look at other tires that are considered very good in the snow, they have wider grooves. I'm going to have a chance to test my Nexen's out shortly with the storm moving into the Midwest. If they don't work, then I've found out the Continental PureContact tires are an excellent replacement. Rated well on TireRack.
I have these on my Kona and the acceleration in the light snow is doable. However, the cornering in the snow is where these tires fail, sliding everywhere.

Are these tires directional?

I know I’m 5 months late but I have an Elantra with these tires and They are trash in even the lightest snow fall.
