Yeah it's garbage. I can understand limitations in terms of seamlessly taking off from and landing on planets etc. but they could have made space travel far more immersive and interesting than what it is. Have seamless jump animations between areas within the same system. Have gates that you have to jump to and use in order to jump to the next system and have a warp animation for that. Like EVE Online. Instead you can literally just be standing in a room on surface and fast travel across the galaxy to a precise location on another planet. It's totally immersion breaking and makes space gameplay virtually redundant.

I think it really shines in some areas and in other areas it's severely undercooked. I'm super divided on it. It's frustrating because a lot of the feedback is valid, but there's also a lot of good. There is lakes and oceans (but no underwater environments), there is forests but they are not particularly dense sure, I have found volcanoes and lava, there is cool rock structures (found a strange stone spire the other day houseing a bunch of weird eggs), there is definitely canyons and craters, there is 100% entire planets with snow, there is even caustic, acidic snowfall. He was correct about the space traversal, no vehicles and atmospheric flight though, although to be fair, you do spend alot of time in space around planets engaging in stuff, there is just no time consuming in between. That gameplay involves aiming at a planet and holding W for 3 to 5 minutes. Not engaging. The stuff you would encounter in those 3 to 5 minutes is present in Starfield, it just pulls you out of hyperjumps to engage with it. @@mariamontalvo3717Holy shit, it was? I wish there was a game where you could pilot a ship, stand up from the cockpit, walk around, talk to the crew, craft items to help in your journey and then go to some moon just for the hell of it, only to be attacked by space pirates. You could divert power to make an escape, or send it all to lasers and shields and target their ships engines. Once they are disabled you can dock, raid the ship, and kill everyone on board. Wouldn't that be a fun game in space? If only it existed.
im loving the game so far. im idk 40-50 hours in. its my favorite game so far this year
This game is fireeee
I can't stop playing! It even dragged me away from BG3 which I didn't think would happen.
I'm probably half that, with long sessions lol. This is the space RPG I always wanted to play. So many choices and things to do. I just spent like 8 hours in Neon city, the longest I've stayed on one planet. Was so refreshing to take off into space again. Decided I would just check out some of the moons nearby and explore in peace. Was a nice break.

Fun fact: the screenshots you take in game are then used as your loading screens
@jeremywininger5316 That's not new either. Fallout 76 has that.
How many are you going to be seeing though?
All honesty it's gonna be Joe's most brutal review by far
I predict he'll give it an 8
How so? The game is great. If he gave Fallout 4 a positive review, there's no way he''ll do a negative one for Starfield.
@@BoogieWoogieCat people just hating to hate, this guy literally has a weeb pic, probably thinks One Piece is good.. dude probably hasnt even played it either or if he has not long enough to get into the real meat of the game
I think he will be very brutal.
His tweets on the game is what make me think this.
@@PuppetMaster-Blade knowing how Joe n the others will be going through everything, I dnt doubt he'll give it an "8" or another. His score will be fair
I've played Starfield for about 17 hours now, my first impressions are, that it's mixture of Eve Online and Elite: Dangerous on space, and Fallout 4 on foot.
It's not a great game, but it's fun to explore around. So if you are into space games, you probably will enjoy this one too.
I think it really shines in some areas and in other areas it's severely undercooked. I'm super divided on it. It's frustrating because a lot of the feedback is valid, but there's also a lot of good. Like the quests are really, really solid at times. So I'm really enjoying it, and I've dumped _so_ much time into it and it's easily my GOTY atm (just what I enjoyed the most), but I don't really blame people for not liking it. Esp the first like 10-15 hours, ngl I genuinely did not like it for a long time.
Please don’t compare this to Elite when it comes to space. Elite handles it In a more tasteful and impactful way and Starfields version of “Space” may as well not exist since it’s the worst part of the game.
@@ryanadams2671 I'm not saying it's exactly like Elite, but space combat reminded me of Elite, while travelling around reminded me of Eve. Of course this won't be as detailed as a space sim 😬
I'd say it's a great game
Thank you for not being stuck in a delusionaly culty frame of mind about this game and expressing your honest thoughts
The main issue for me is that they decreased the equipable items. You only got like the suit and helmet, not counting jetpack and clothes. Just remember how many diferent things you had in skyrim and fallout to collect. Also 40 hours in and I am still using the same damn armor mantis armor. Thats horrible and i would never do that in other bethesta games
Tf game you playing? I've found if anything too many new armor sets
@@defatgames2796 there are like maybe 10 legendary ones and they have almost the same bonuses. I dont give a damn about corrosion resistance bonuses lol. Skyrim and fallout million times better
Microsoft in the ESO when the character eats food there is an animation for it, why here the pilot doesn't have an animation for his/ her nap ? Even this animation is difficult? He just lay down before the system asks how many hours he/ she will sleep and the animation that shows he is getting up from his/ her bed. It's one week work for 5 people or more?
When is the review coming out?
I had to ask for refund. loading screen at repetium .. I just can't... also can't even fly your ship over terrain and land whenever? 1000 planets that will generate a zone where you land.. then run to a POI to discover a pile of shit. great... just great. then ran further and got to an invisible wall.. ugh. might come back later with -75% discount AND when loading screens gets fixed or modded out. cheers.
They never said you can fly or land your ship over a planet this is what people hyped up it to be. In interviews they told the public they worked with a tile system now everybody acts surprised it’s zones. It’s advertised as a Fallout in space not a No Mans Sky clone.
@@KillerDrake26 remember Skyrim and "see that mountain in the distance? you can go there!" yeah.. I guess we're at the point where a company can sprinkle some cheap dust over a turd and call it AAA game. I played the shit out skyrim and fallout 4 .. it went to shit with Fallout 76; guess tendency is just downhill from there.
Honestly lol. Loading screen simulator. If you start outside your ship, and you go to another planet and get out, you get no less than 5 loading screens and shitty cinematics for that. None of it has any amount of you controlling the ship. At all. It’s just loading screens, interrupted by you clicking which planet you want to fast travel to.
@@simpledanman don;t get me wrong I really wanted to like it but major flaws like this from the go are total immersion breakers. They should have made 1 single solar system but with planets fully explorable and filled with content. Maybe a couple of space stations? I wanted to get lost x1000 like It happened to me in Skyrim where I took off and went on adventure discovering POIs on the way. Nah. Loading screens in repetium and fast traveling everywhere. Don;t get me started on fast traveling. what a shame. Oh well.

after playing for one day i can say the game is finish around 80-90% but there are only minimal optimization and it seem like they do what they do. leave the rest for player and modder to fix it. how do i know that?
less than a week and there is fk ton of mod in nexusmod either for optimization the game or QOL even some basic stuff that the game should have...
What I really love about this game is that the story, boiled down, is "NASA forgot to carry the one and then the guy traveled back in time to tell himself and he decided wars are bad and space is good so he ensured Earth died to force humanity into an interstellar diaspora with billions dead."
Oh and also that didn't stop wars, disease or hunger, which were the only things he mentioned about it being okay to kill Earth over. Also he threw in something about a possible asteroid impact "eventually". He straight up did the "ends justify the means" thing and no one else in the game has more than a passing reaction to this.
Yeah the story is such crap that spoilering it for you now isn't going to change whether or not you enjoy the game itself one little bit. So long as you don't care about another round of Emil not bothering with "writing the Great American novel", you'll be fine I'm sure.
There is actually 1000+ One Piece episodes in the Anime. I watched the first 700 then put it on hiatus 😆

If Spacebourne 2's solo developer had the budget of Starfield we would probably get a far more interesting game than the one that had an entire studio behind it. Is there anything that Starfield offers that other games haven't already done better?
Maybe the aesthetic?
Cuz it just seems like a slightly less buggy and way less feature full star citizen with some nms lite mechanics
I see what Angry Joe did here. He started the video tedious and stupid and weak and then gave us bigger payouts as the video progressed. Just like Starfield did. Well played, Angry Joe.
The loading is horrific. What's he talking about? The game has a few levels (planets), and most of them do F all. Could cut half the game down, and people wouldn't notice.

One thing that bothers me is the fact you have to literally point at everything to pick it up. I thought they would’ve changed that. Someone who suffers from vertigo at times this is frustrating.
How does that effect vertigo? . Serious question not being a dick

No lakes, oceans, underwater environments, waterfalls, dense jungles, volcanoes/lava, cool rock structures or canyons, snow, no land vehicles, no atmospheric flight, shallow space “traversal” all planets and stars are just wallpaper when in space, A.I. is downgraded from previous Bethesda titles and don’t react to your crimes, 2010 character models, dull color pallet making the game have no vibrancy to it… it’s such a bland and boring experience and isn’t deserving of anything over a 7 out of 10 and even a 7 is a stretch. Looking forward to your review you guys.
I dunno how much you have played (or if you've even played it at all) but it isn't much by the sounds of it. These facts are just plain false. People like you are the reason we can't be critical of games, because there is a line between criticism and just straight up lying for the sake of it.
Come on my friend. Why did you forget to say the one thing that hurts you the most? That’s it's Xbox Series console exclusive.
@@manic-n5n It may be a matter of how much time he's played. Either way it doesn't negate some of his criticism because most of it, at least, is truthful.
@@RetroniOSgood work on pushing sony fanboys hate because exclusive narrative.
@@rpgadventurer32Alot of what he said is false though. Almost all space games have planets as a backdrop (except NMS and Elite Dangerous, but neither of those have RPG elements and are space sims). AI does indeed react to crimes (i.e get arrested for theft, people running for their life if you start shooting etc). Regarding the content of the planets he was just straight up making stuff up.
Asteroid mining, trading, piracy, quests, hails, fleet combat, it's all still there.
I also do agree the colour pallette is abit off, I installed a mod to fix that. But yeah, alot of what he said is blatantly false or he doesn't actually understand how it works.
