@@mattissilverbern7791 You want to know the stupid part? Duke Nukem Forever was somehow both horribly delayed AND terribly rushed at the same time.
What happened was that Take-Two paid a bunch of money to Infogrames for the production of the game, but 3DRealms, the people who were mainly responsible for the actual game, never got any of the money. So they were taking their sweet time with things and eventually 3DRealms went under.
Take-Two naturally were pretty pissed about this and decided they needed to capitalize on their property ASAP so they kept Tryptech Games working on it, and they were based in the same building as Gearbox Software (led by Randy Pitchford). Randy started pumping money into things and in less than six months, the game was released.
Even though it took a decade and a half to materialize, the brunt of the actual development on Duke Nukem Forever happened in the last half a year of its existence before release.

Both Joes and del i personally loved hearing the extra info about the game that didn't make it into the review. Definitely want to see more of these for special cases like FO76 were there is just so much to cover that you couldn't fit in one review. Have a wonderful day :D

The reason why fixing huge gaps can take so short time periods could be of that the whole game didn't take big work time. Instead of creators building it, there were only a few guys from "Department of Fast Glueing Pieces Together". I'm guessing that actual work on that game did not take them more than 1 year to construct. It's according to what Bethesda's workshops and tools are capable of.

Who has heard of the bag that people are getting with the $200 collectors edition? What is advertised is not what they are getting, because Bethesda says they can’t afford to make it, and say it was a prototype. Despite not telling people this.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls... should always have remained single player narratives, that take players through an adventure.
But they see Activision, EA, and EPIC milking the teat and all they see is an opportunity. Games like ESO and Fallout 76 aren’t made to enrich their worlds, they’re made because MMO’s are a safe bet for constant revenue and for some reason the industry loves cramming MTs and lazy practices in online games. Now that Bethesda has become a big corporation, they don’t look at it as their baby anymore, but as their b***h.

Guys, I haven’t played the Fallout games before but I saw the other fallout games when ppl were playing them. I was so hyped to get FO76 and play it and see how cool it would be. Ló be told FO76 was terrible, and I didn’t buy the game.
I’m sticking to basic shooters like COD and different games.

I think bethsda might copy no man's sky. At launch it was a disgrace, but they have patched and added content and the latest dlc pretty much saved no mans sky. Im still not buying the game pecause of such plain lying, but i heard its ok these day. If bethsda works hard enough it might be ok

Black Isle and Obsidian did a lot of heavy lifting to Fallout. All Bethesda did was throw lore and story around like a child in a tantrum. Until BGS gets rid of Emil(or demotes him to quest designer) BGS wont ever have good stories for their games anymore.
And yet AC is getting better in quality and Fallout is getting worse. It's a funny old world innit ;)

Fallout 76 really shouldn't exist, or at least not by Bethesda's hands. It's a bare-bones, buggy, outdated, boring survival "sim". At best you could call it early access or beta.
If the new ES game is still going to use that crap engine, have the same amount of bugs as asual and having me to rely on mods to actually make it worth playing then I won't be bothered anymore. Hell, even the "oooo Starfield, we doin' space stuff now!" is meh cuz they can't even treat exisiting IP's well.

That's what happens when folks throw rose tinted glasses on for a company. Skyrim was rocky and the last one I bought new. I bought F4 like 2 years after release to see if they'd made it up to standard and got a return after 12 hours of gameplay. We need to refuse to purchase their shit. That includes ES6 when it comes. They're not the Bethesda that released great games in spite of bugs. They're just garbage.

Bethesda created one of the worst PVP experiences in gaming history....out of fear of creating a bad PVP experience. That is beautifully incompetent.
The Fallout 76 Experience Mod for Fallout New Vegas has better PvP, and those are just NPCs pretending to be other players.
It's funny that I actually preferred the PVP in this game. I'm the type of player to leave people alone. In GTA and RDR I'll go right past other players. Unfortunately too many people do not. Felt nice to be able to see other players without fear of getting harrassed for literally NO REASON. Within 1 hour of playing Red Dead Redemption 2 online, a player in town killed me twice while I was in menus. The third time he came I killed him and left town. So of course he followed me until I started a mission to get out of that world. That's NOT fun.
FO76 basically neutered PVP but I prefer this over the dumbass bounty systems that do nothing. We need to find a better middle ground though, the way to duel in this game is stupid. But they do have good PVP in FO76, when I captured a public base someone tried to take it from me so I fought them. Those instances are when PVP is fun. Not when you're minding your own business so someone has to kill you for no reason

LITERALLY from day 1 on their own forums, people were asking for separate PVP and PVE servers, so that people who WANT to PVP can, and people who don't, don't need to deal with it.

regarding red dead, when you get killed 4 times by the same guy you can "parley" which the victim can turn on and wont be bothered by that guy for 10 mins. 4 deaths are kinda too much if youre impatient or something, but its better than gta passive mode which was exploited by griefers lol

It's not enough to add NPCs, they'd need to include an entire conversation system and that would require massive changes to retrofit the current design of the game. Not happening...or if it does happen it will be severely half-assed.
Hiring voice actors would require them to spend money on the game.

Not only would they have to add an entire conversation system, but also meaningful choices to go along with that system. This is what makes an RPG, an RPG: Choice. Your character can and does effect the world around them. Bethesda can't do this with an online game because it requires A) An actual story, and B) online can't account for the dynamic choices players might make (or not make). In other words, the game is stuck in a perpetual limbo and is all about loot grinding & crafting versus player choice / meaning.

I think the points brought up in constructive criticism with added experience from Del was just interesting to listen to. Bethesda was really short sighted with this game it almost feels like an investment for TES6.

I like this new format Joe. Should do this more often with games that you don't have time for or extended discussion like this one. Anyways, I knew the game wasn't going to be good when Bethesda said there were no human NPCs to interact with and online multiplayer only. Bethesda wants to do multiplayer when they can barely get their single player to work? I'm a huge Fallout and Elder Scrolls fan and I skipped this. Even my sister, who's a huge fan like me, said she's skipping this.

I pre-ordered it, not pre-*pay*, got beta key, downloaded the game, *re*downloaded the game, tested the game, was bored after an hour, deinstalled it and cancelled my pre-order, done.
For the record, it’s mid-2021 now and you can still get stuck in your power armor.
I force closed the game after waiting for ages, and it straight up deleted my power armor. (Full Ultracite set with jetpack)
At which point I just stopped playing. 😅

Ok, 2 years later... I'm watching this and decide to give the game another try, even though I've given up on it multiple times. During the time of this video, I experienced 3 full on crashes from the main menu and had the "stuck at the workbench when you finish so you have to fast travel to break out of it" happen twice. Wow...

Elder Scrolls VI needs to near flawless, because games like Red Dead 2, GTA V, and Witcher 3 are so damn fine-tuned and polished.

NMS was a new IP from a lesser-known studio. The fact that this is a Fallout game from Bethesda means the backlash will be worse, because expectations and standards are higher.

Not really, Fallout 3 was boring with a big map with basically nothing to do, you need to go though the same generic, broken down subway filled with Ghouls or raiders in order to get to another part of D.C and the story was just disappointed. Sure, there are some memorable moments, but overall FO3 is just generic.
And don't get me started on FO4, game looks and plays better than 3 and New Vegas. But it removed every single RPG element the franchise ever had and made 99% of quests: Go here, shoot the raiders, go back. And once again the story is generic and literally just Fallout 3 but switched rolls, exit a vault and look for a family member. Plus, none of the endings mattered, even if you side with the Institute, people will still like you and it has no impact on the world, the only change is that a few Synths starts appearing in the world, same with Railroad, Minute Men and BOS, generic NPC with like 5 lines of dialogue starts appearing at check points.
Diablo is going to smash it on mobile XD

With regards to the canvas bag, Bethesda has stated that to make up for it, they'll be giving 500 atoms to any player that can provide proof of purchase. Which, as we saw in the other review, is basically equal to $5 in-game credit. And in such a twist of irony, 500 Atoms won't even buy you the postman skin (700 atoms), which has a canvas bag. This is the kinda thing that I'd expect from a badly-managed Kickstarter campaign, not from a triple-A studio.

I think the biggest update most people are looking forward to from Bethesda is how they get their money back.
This MAY be one of those games kinda like No Mans Sky, that could be updated and fixed. But at $60 for those early purchasers, this is a kick in the teeth. Those who paid the $200 for a plastic bag its a kick in the balls.
Bethesda... Free PR for you (your current firm is tonk at it). Honor the refunds for those who require it. Smash the game to $15 and treat this as a early access or something. Short term you may lose some cash, but long term you may actually keep or even make some fans from being the first company in history from supporting them. Turn bad PR into something that could help and grow your IP and name.

The No Man's Sky strategy should not be tolerated for premium games, and especially not for a substantially bigger studio than Hello Games. Bethesda doesn't even deserve anymore mulligans, fuck them. Id, Arkane Studios, Tango gameworks, and the current people behind ESO, need to break off from the Zenimax Umbrella, to form their own company, if possible. Zenimax and Bethesda are otherwise a giant cancer that will ruin them in time.
