  • In this video I explain how you can inflate a ball the right way. I see a lot of videos where people insert a dry needle in the valve and so damaging the valve. I think this video gives a good insight how you can inflate a ball without damaging the valve.

      Of course you can check the pressure with your fingers but this is not accurate. Press with your thumbs into the ball (make sure you watch out with your finger nails). With a volleyball you will feel that you can press into the ball a bit more than with a soccer ball or basketball. Don't use a volleyball that is inflated to hard. It's better that the ball is a bit softer so you can have a good feel of the ball.

      The best thing is that you always use a very thin oil, like f.e. oil that you use for a sowing machine. Don't use oil that is too thick because otherwise you can't properly insert it into the valve and also may cause small fractures in the rubber valve as well.

    • @TOPCyber
      @TOPCyber  3 года назад +2

      Valve oil lubricates the valve which is a lot better for the valve itself. Because of this lubrication the rubber valve is moist. If it isn't moist, you can puncture the valve wall and this will cause leaks. You can use very thin oils to achieve this. Water is not recommended because it isn't oily at all.

    • @TOPCyber
      @TOPCyber  2 года назад

      Of course! You can use the same type of ball needle for a basketball and the same valve oil for lubricating the valve. The valve of a basketball is the same as a volleyball so it should work just fine. First add a few drops of the valve oil in the valve and then gently move the needle up and down in the valve so you don't puncture the valve wall. You can also buy a ball guy if you want to know the exact pressure of the ball.

      I don't know anything about baby oil unfortnately. If this oil is really thin, I don't think it is going to be a problem. A ball deflates a bit over time. This happens more often with a soccer ball because this is a latex bladder. With a volleyball or basketball this should not be the case because these have a butyl bladder for better air retention.

      If you can find a ball pump that has the same diameter for the needle that is the same as the Mikasa ball gauge needle, then it should work. The problem is that in most cases you need other needles because the diameter of the Mikasa needle (that came with the digital gauge) is different.
