This guy is a freaking MASTER!!!. Now I can't take a photo without checking the palms of my hands, it's an obsession :D it's like those old pirates when put saliva on the tip of one finger to check the direction of the wind haha
Each film by Jerry is like meeting an old friend, where apart from having a good time, you will learn something new. thanks for inspiring me since 2014.
You nailed it, sir. Another killer video. You put yourself in the beginners' shoes perfectly and then help them into the pro's in the most efficient way. I love the tight editing and high energy. Thank you! 11:15 - amazing!
Great material to learn. I went through the video three times by now searching for details and each time found something interesting. I've been rather fun of natural, hunting good moments, but You turned the posing and light into arts. When I watch now clips of other photographers I discover so many imperfections with legs, hands and light. Thank You very much for Your teaching, good luck
They look like Hollywood actors. I would look like Picasso with a camera on every shot. This was a terrific tutorial on shooting couples, very helpful. Thanks!
I love that the male /female heights are not ideal because that is very often the reality. You showed a lot of great techniques to bring the female eye level to the male lip level (ideal). What do you think of a 2 follow-up episodes: "Shooting couples in soft window light" and "Shooting couples in harsh outdoor light"?
@@JerryGhionisPhotographyalso, some people dont like to be told, how to pose. They say, we are not like this. How can you pose them. Without to much posing ?
So grateful for your time and effort in providing this and other educational videos. Even though I spend most of my time photographing Aussie Veterans in a bush setting and gifting these pic's to them after our weekend /weeks together, the tip's I get from your video's are very relevant and useful. I don't actually direct their poses, I'm just more aware of those candid moments utilising their natural quirkyness and habits. I am always looking for better lighting opportunities in all of my photography pursuits, thanks to your insight and inspiration. Looking forward to your future video's. 👏😁
I wish that I'd found this 2 weeks ago. I am an amateur DSLR photographer and I mostly do landscapes, it's just what I love. I was asked to photograph a friends wedding and while the photos turned out well, after seeing this I have a thousand ideas on how to redo the shots after the service. Time to ask them if they want a redo on the couple shots. Thankyou for doing this, I've probably learned more about posing and shooting couples from your videos than I have from any other source.
Excellent video. Such a simple way of making several golden points. Your garage is a pretty nice looking one though. I'd like to see you try that with mine! Top stuff. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
22:18 "Always pick the best lighting rather than the best location". And Jerry putting himself in the dark shadow and the background absolutely burned. hahahaha. He does on purpose, he is the best!.
Appreciate your RUclips videos a lot! Now just saying, did anyone else notice the tripod dance around 7 minute mark. Caused by the video camera stabilizer compensating for videographer hand/body movement. Something to keep in mind when videoing: keep close in static objects away from the subject.
There is something special when it comes to Jerry. I've heard these lessons so many times, but I always enjoy watching and rewatching them again and again. The reason is simple, each and every time I get an "a-ha" moment :) The models are always different and I am always curious to see how Jerry applies his techniques to them. I'd carry your photo trolley around all day just to be able to soak in all those small things that makes a good shot awesome, plus.... I'd kick some a$$ at ping pong :)
love your work... I am mostly a landscape and architecture and for the past 2 years started working with people and love what you are throwing out... so simple, but I just needed someone to say it :)
Bam, subscribed after a couple of minutes, do landscape and long exposure, but portrait is not my thing, because of light control and etc, but seems easy when explained by someone that eats this for breakfast!! Ty for the free tutorial!
Great video which felt more about light than posing but still useful. The only negative is you are using models who are comfortable in front of the camera and don't need a lot of direction. In real life you have a tall groom, short bride, not a make up expert, out of shape couples to work with.
Using the hand to check shadows, brilliant! I would have never thought to do that.

She's actually stunning.
"Actually" hahaha, as if she is not really
she ain't. she had that bitchy vibe.
@@joev6506 LOL I wish I didn't agree. It's probably just that she was taking the shoot too seriously.
I love her curves, she has a fantastic facial structure and looks like a dream to work with.
who is she

Jerry you make it seem so simple. Thank you for shedding the light on us.
Using the hand to demonstrate light quality was brilliant!
😎
I'm amazed you can show a couple being romantic with small details, very inspiring, I can already see how artists have failed to capture it.
really appreciate that! Trust me I've struggled for years!
"How to photograph in harsh sunlight" ..."get out of the sunlight" lmao

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep those in mind. I'm planning a specific height different tutorial as, like you say, a very common problem we face!
