I enjoyed this movie for 10 years and just the thought of a sacrifice for any reason and on any level is honorable. Movies like this keeps you thinking and make a new generation wanting to reach higher but really how would I know if anything in this movie is true or false it's set in the future, using science that in theory could possibly work and most importantly - it's a movie!

    I like Sci-fi movies .
But its all FICTION (like-IMAGINARY ASSUMPTIONS) . as are Time - travel/dilation/etc.,
very similar are the theories explained in the video - (FICTION)

I always wondered, the planet next to extreme gravity of black hole should be acting like Io next to Jupiter, extremely volcanic. In the movie, the extreme gravity only effecting the shallow ocean water, not the planet as a whole.

The dilation of time by velocity or gravity are only theories. Absolutely no one can explain how time could expand.

And these 'theories' allow GPS to function. Without taking time dilation into account, your GPS locations would be off by several kilometers. You should first understand what 'theories' are, before you try to disparage their value.

@RafaelBenedicto Ask yourself honestly. GPS do not use the equations of relativity at all.

@@ArThur-fj7mjDo some research on the clocks on GPS satellites, and how time dilation is taken into account in order for the entire system to function. Come back here like a good little school boy once you understand how GPS works. 😀

Shame Interstellar had to be a typically modern Hollywood movie, silly, totally over the top and unconvincing! The CGA was good though!
