    "My Thai". One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston.

      Well it should be! They should also change the name to “your Thai”….🤣🤣🤣

    Fun fact the Carolina Ice Palace used to be a hardware store called HQ.

      Ohhh! That’s cool. I never would have guessed that! Please post any other history. There doesn’t seem to be much about this development and its history online. I am always fascinated with what these structures were through the years. Thanks again!

    The tuxedo place I think was originally in Northwoods Mall and moved when they put in the Planet Fitness. Saigon Mart used to be an Italian restaurant called La Fontana that is now in West Ashley on Savannah Highway near Wappo Road. Compuzone as far as I know was always there. I get my computers from them. Haven't had any major problems with them.

    😂Crazy Eddie! I’m originally from NJ and I remember the commercials from when I was a kid. My daughter takes a learn to skate homeschool class at the Ice Palace.

      My Crazy Eddie was on 18 in East Brunswick. I remember wanting to go there all the time as a kid when the original Nintendo system came out.
      That’s cool she skates. If I ever want to skate at the palace, I would have to use one of those pvc pipe walkers! 🤣🤣🤣

    The Red Crab started off life as a Fuddrucker's then it did become some seafood restaurant that I ate in once.

    • @charlestonpinballarcade
      @charlestonpinballarcade  5 месяцев назад

      Awesome!!! That must have been a really cool Fuddruckers location when it was new. Now that red crab place looks like it’s abandoned. I drove past and through it was closed and then saw cars in front and I was like “noooo way”!!!😂😂😂

    Mei Thai was sooo good! Def. gonna visit their new place!
    So, the crab place was a King Street Grille at one point, Fudruckers well before that and a crab shack somewhere in-between. That sofa place used to be Childrens' Palace Toy Store back when I was a kid in the 80s.

    • @charlestonpinballarcade
      @charlestonpinballarcade  4 месяца назад

      I would have loved to see that children’s palace! I grew up toys r us. Never went to child world / palace or kiddie city! I’m going to go tell my parents I was a deprived child! 🤣🤣🤣

  • @jadenova

    The carpet place was a Lazy Boy store and before that a toy store called Children's Palace. Green Dragon was always there. Went in there a few times myself.

    • @charlestonpinballarcade
      @charlestonpinballarcade  5 месяцев назад

      Children’s Palace was part of Child World with the Peter Panda character! I didn’t know they were down here. I grew up in NJ so we had toys r us and Lionel kiddie city.

    • @jadenova
      @jadenova 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@charlestonpinballarcade We had a Lionel toy store here too. In West Ashley where the Harris Teeter is that used to be the Lionel toy store. And in West Ashley in the shopping center with World Market where Ross is that used to be a Children's Palace too. I grew up in this area. So I know what quite a few things used to be.

    I got to get down there and film that mall. Charleston is a hot spot for filming.

    • @charlestonpinballarcade
      @charlestonpinballarcade  5 месяцев назад +2

      Honestly, Charleston is not great for abandoned places unless you are in the real bad areas.
      Mount pleasant is all new money, west Ashley is also very expensive and Summerville and Nexton is growing like crazy. Very few places stay vacant for very long.
      I feel Columbia is the content gold mine. Myrtle also has many places to film both good and bad. Then the small towns on the backroads are awesome for content.
      Also, Orangeburg you could literally film all day!!! Wait til you see my video of downtown Orangeburg. Store after store all abandoned!

    • @crazyadventuresandreviews
      @crazyadventuresandreviews 5 месяцев назад +1

    • @charlestonpinballarcade

      @@crazyadventuresandreviews Orangeburg downtown, also soooo many places around the city and also you can do Prince of Orange mall. Orangeburg Mall is an outdoor strip and looks abandoned but insanely it’s not.. it’s just the way Orangeburg rolls… 😂😂😂

      Northwoods Mall is a rather active mall. You need to go to Citadel Mall if you want to film a dead mall.
