Nice! Andrew Holness is really improving and building Jamaica's infrastructure. Jamaica is such a beautiful country. If we could stop the killing and violence, Jamaica would be the most beautiful place to live.
Whats the sense of infrastructure without factories(production). Building infrastructure for minimum wage is recipe to breed more crime. Factories/producing grow middle class which give a sustainable income to some what stay afloat and pay bills... The government is failing the people sadly
Thanks for this video this is where I used to live. I now live in Florida. It brought back so much memories. I used to go to Duhaney Park Primary and then to Pembroke Hall Junior Secondary School. It looks so different. Keep up the great work my brother. Blessings
That gully I and my brother and friends would friends (at the time were students of Duhaney Park Primary) would catch those little fishes and when it rains simulate "swimming"; they also had the JOS BUS EXPRESS running from "PARADE TO DUHANEY PARK".
Thank you so much for sharing this. My parents lived in Duhaney Park and I use to visit every year. When my dad passed, my mom moved back overseas with me, so we enjoy going down memory lane watching your videos! Thank you
Thank you for this video. I use to to this plaza sometimes for lunch and drive by every day, I would not recognise it now. I think the last time I saw it would be in the early 2000 s
Thanks also for watching family. The renovations really took me by surprise as well and it's an area that I frequent quite often. Its nice to see upgrades such as this.
I lived in Duhaney Park during the 80s; Hemmingsway Crescent to be exact. My 6 pickney dem attended George Headley Prim. Sch. Mrs. Atkinson was the headmistress. I can hardly identify Duhaney Dr. Over plaza looks totally different. Thanks for the footage.
Grocery store fully stocked - especially like the bakery. Wonder if they have anything made with real coconut? Folks just need to have money to buy what they want. Thank you for this video☺
Nice video. Would also be good to have included the clinic, other primary and high school as well as the churches in the area. Highlighting the land marks.
This was 2 years ago and I'm just seeing this now although I was informed recently of the changes. Seeing the outer section of the plaza as it is then becoming clear I can imagine the completion of those stalls in the park opposite to the entrance of the plaza where K's Pharmacy is. Are there Public Restroom or Lavatory facilities in place in relation to those stalls, for patrons and vendors alike? If not, that's a major for public health concerns. All said, thanks for the highlights on those changes. The area is special as I grew up in that community with a wealth of experience since the ending of the 60's throughout (70's, 80's, 90's...) What I'm interesting to see especially from both Duhaney Park and New Heaven, areas that I've known for more than 50 yrs, is the outskirt or the outline of the Duhaney River or Plantation Heights River as it was once called or probably still is since those earlier years, from the foot of the hills or mountain as some will say. Ferry River is and is still the freshwater river while the Duhaney or Plantation Heights River is the unique brackish water mineral (not as salt as the ocean) crystal springs from the root of the hills next to Tom Cringle Dr. That was the river I had improved my swimming skills to have completed the Cross the Harbour Swim meets during the 80's before those competitions were disallowed because of the major problem of pollution by the influx of waste materials from the expanding corporate area.
I was there about six years ago and that was what it looked like then it seems. The roads on the side streets are in bad shape. I does not look like the government ever repair any of the street since the British or independence. I know when the area was first developed having family living there and off Weymouth Drive.
@@tesmondsimpson1304 how is he the problem, stop already, the roads are in bad shape that's a fact, you are paying taxes right? the government should do more not always depending on people to contribute, there are improvement for sure, but the roads are bad that's the government responsibility
