I've been using this bag for the last 5 year. I've slept in this bag down to 25 with a 15 degree liner and was comfortable. It's definitely not a backpacking bag but a great car camping bag.
I almost bought 4 of these for each family member back when I first got into preparedness a couple years ago. I went with the military surplus MSS Modular Sleep System instead. That Big Basin is super nice tho, I looked at them in Coleman Factory Outlet store.
I love a sleeping bag with a slightly wider toe box and the ability to unzip both sides, or at least one side fully and the other side partially at the shoulder, and what I found was the Sierra Designs Zissou. Light enough to go on a limited backpacking trip, and great for car camping and all other uses.
Nutnfancy I have several bags.I do have a Coleman big game and a heritage big and tall.I the purchased a lighter weight coleman bag the bisquane zipped together with one of the heavier bags for 2 people. When its warm bisquane on top .Flip it over when its colder. I am a fan of Teton bags.
I have a different Coleman bag but with the same zipper, and after a couple of years it's become a problem. The slider is a cheap metal that now flexes open and doesn't properly zip. This results in the bag appearing to be zipped together, but by gently pulling from either side of the zipper the connection fails and the bag opens right up (weird). When this happens, I then reset the slider to the bottom of the bag, grab the slider with my Gerber (no Leathermans over here :) and pinch the slider closed while zipping. I bought some YYK sliders at the end of the camping season last year but haven't swapped over yet, thanks for the reminder.
Thanks nutn ,I ordered two before I even watch your evaluation ,I’ve been using the mummy bags made of the same stuff for two years ,and they still perform as new . They are just about - that much too little . I’m 6’5” and 285# so yeah this is a no brainer for me and so economical at $68 .
Best sleeping bag is the old USGI 3 piece sleep system. They come mainly in woodland camo. Bivy goretex cover, and green and a black bag with stuff sack. Best fart sack out there. Many hours in them. 👍🏼 grab a woobie too!
I have some zip plows and some Coleman bags. You're right, they are solid performers, budget options, do that job! Not what I'd take for the MN winters, or in the canoe, but great bags!
Love your reviews dude, no matter the item. Just bought my daughters 2 car camping bags down to 0 (allegedly, as you say). Went with Teton Brand from Sportsman’s Warehouse. $120 for the 2. Hope they work out. Like this one, roomy and comfortable. Keep up the good work.
Hey Nutn! I like the same bag characteristics, (as squared off as possible, roomy, down to 20F, plush) but my POU is motorcycle camping. What would your choice be for that? I don't recall you detailing that gear in any of the moto vids of the past?
I love some nutnfancy reviews.. but I still question you not being able to open a spiderco knife by the hole-- and necessitate the need to have a zip tie on there. lol... The hole works great by itself.
I find sometimes if you find some piece of gear/kit/clothing/object that you really really dig. And if you lost that item, you would without question buy the exact same thing again in an instant. One good option (provided it's not too expensive/big/perishable) is to have a backup just in case you lost it. I have a back up of my favorite wallet, knife, and waterbottle. They are fairly small, inexpensive and there if and when I need a replacement.
Redheads and blondes are better than sleeping bags, however in my case it's my German shepherd and Irish setter, oh well. Looks like a good bag, cost ok. 😁👍
Just imagine an anti gunner watching this review to then be unpleasantly surprised by the ending
Lol love it. He can’t help himself
Always great content, even when filmed on a phone. The original and still among the best.

I use the MMS system. Good to minus 40F. It has served me well and all for $200.00 USD. Cheers, Mate.

I'm sorry you couldn't replace your bags with something you like as much
With the homeless sleeping bags are gold

I like my Grand Teton XL Sleeping Bag. it has been amazing. And kept me warm down to 20 below freezing
Sorry about your losses. Homeless people stole them for sure. Awesomeness on the video thanks brah.
Good video LC.
Where in Utah desert you can find a thief (homeless?) sleeping with a Slumberjack bag? Hmmmm
If they were homeless... or in the company of homeless people, it makes sense to keep or to trade
.
Are you sure Last Suspect or TacDood didn't "borrow" the bags?
Maybe use that stun gun on them! (No, j/k... maybe)
Donor? 😂
Who would steal from Nutnfancy? Smh.
LGB.
as homelessness increases our sleeping bags are increasingly not safe.
Tooooo much space, it would take me forever to find my Glock in that thing
probably a homeless person taking them for a bed
Why a rectangular bag?
More room for farts.
Fahrt-tube monetized a nutn video.
Is this a sign of the apocalypse?
