If you hold your brush lightly like a pencil, and make sure bristles of your brush dont bend, but just gently do circular motions, this technique is not invasive and prevents from gum recession
By using a soft toothbrush and not applying too much force, you can reduce the risk of any recession. Recession can occur with any toothbrushing technique, some more than others. This technique has a much lower risk than others.
I think no matter how many times I will watch these videos I don't think it will be helpful Because my teeth will decay against my will ☠️💔 - like i only got 2-3 left to finish and THEN it turns out that i need to visit the dentist even more AAAAAA
That just means you aren’t brushing enough or haven’t brushed throughly in the past. Use a soft toothbrush, and don’t brush it hard or else you may damage your gum.
As someone who uses an electric brush, I will say yes! It's easy to use and it is very efficient!! Kriss also said that this can be a beneficial choice!
0:38 the gums in the front teeth are thinner than the molars gums, and brushing like this can really do some damage especially if you don't have soft bristle toothbrush.
Throughout my whole 10 years when I was a child, I didn't know I have been brushing my teeth so wrong for the years. After I watched the bentist (which is the shorts doctor about how take care of your gums), I have been using bass method to brush my teeth. Sure, it did took almost 2-5 minutes but at least it's worth it. Oh and btw, I don't brush back and forth, I use bentist technique such as circle motion and flick afterwards
Do this technique if you would love to pay thousands of dollars and stitches in your mouth, to treat the gum recession this horrible technique causes. Comes from someone who literally brushed the gums off, with no inflammation ever cause it happened little by little… periodontists, rejoice! For here is all my savings! How to: always a soft or even ultra soft bristle. The upper teeth need to be brushed from up to down, same for the back parts. Have a soft grip and font press at all. Do not rush And the lower jaw teeth go from down to up. Use floss and be gentle, don’t slam it into your gums every time it’s squeezed through the tight teeth. Be gentle and take your time. And a non-alcoholic mouthwash, that has NO WHITENING bs in it. All those whitening stuff is actually bad for the gums. And alcohol based mouthwash maybe only from time to time. Because alcohol dries the mouth out and that is not as good for the gum health. And go to the dentist at least once a year. Check for everything, so they can notice if there is any gum recession from grinding or overbrushing. And remember, if a cavity is tiny, and you didn’t even ever feel it, then it’s totally fine to not let that get DRILLED and filled, but monitored for next visit. Fluoride in the toothpaste can help the tooth heal very small cavities on itself. Because fillings when you never even felt anything with that tooth, can change your bite… fillings too high, and only your jaw bite can identify when it is too high, and causes that tooth to press on the other opposite tooth, and thus cause more sensitivity and gum-bone recession… I wish I never touched that tooth 3 month ago…
I think you are dentist or may be dental assistant because right now I was studying the chapter on preventive dentistry and they recommend bass technique 😅😅
Yes. I always follow modified bass, it's been 6-7 years now, cause I've studied in my dental books and that has worked out well for me. And I never had problems with gums or cavities. I visit dentist once a year though and rarely need any treatment, except that I get staining because of tea and coffee that needs to be removed.
So which method do you use now? I have recession maybe 3mm from agressive brushing too. I tend to sweep very gently away from gums but dont do any back and forth motions.
I like this video..Thanks for sharing, but i prefer electric brushing coz everytime i brush my teeth manually, my gums bleed, and i ask kriss ai for tips on what is the best to use electric or manual brushing..
Is electric toothbrush really worth it? I'm already satisfied with my soft bristled toothbrush but if it really makes a huge difference, then I will buy one. Also, is kriss ai freE? 😅
@@rokishotomy electric toothbrush is a game-changer! esp i have bleeding gums. it gives a more consistent clean. as for Kriss, it's a cool service for dental practices to help with patient communication and case acceptance.

@@baileyerickson4065 Circular motion I dont think is safe for gum tissue no matter how light. There has to be a better method.
I heard that brushing in circles is better than horizontal, and that the 'sweep' does not do much
that's fones technique used in kids with low dexterity
@@NoCommentarygamingdentist4070 Oh..I thought it is also safer for the gums

I like the circular method
0:38 if i brush my teeth like that. My gums gonna bleed
Unhealthy gums bleed. If you brush like that, eventually the bleeding will stop.
visit ur dentist for scaling and polishing of ur teeth and tell ur dentist about bleeding
I understand your concern but maybe u have bleeding gums bcz of deficiency ..get it checked from a dentist
Then may be u have gingivitis!
Does not this technique cause gum recession?
It does. It nor back and forth. But gum to swipe it down.
No. It only takes out the deposits from sulcus of gingiva..it won't cause recession
Not if you use a very soft toothbrush.

Brushing with Manual Toothbrush - Bass Technique
I tried hard to like the manual brush but couldn’t. Electric ⚡️ is always better because sometimes I get sloppy and can’t follow technique 😅
Watched bass brushing tutorials for a few times already, both in English and Chinese versions
Wow thank u
wrong technique
Very good
Isnt better electronic brush?
No , Powered toothbrushes are not superior to manual , it indicated for Individuals lacking manual dexterity
If you have narrow arches like I do, how to you use this technique on th inside front teeth? I also have some crowding on the bottom. Thanks!
I have same thing. I started using a single tuft toothbrush for the inside front
Instead of holding the toothbrush horizontally, hold it vertically. This should improve your access to the back of your front teeth.
Good work
