Love the down to earth review. Nice straight talking.....as for the tent, a bit more than a bivi....nice and stealthy, and idea for my dog and I - at an ecconomical price. Might well give it a try, nothing really to loose. Will look at your other reviews.

I have one of these . I am going to put some fabsil gold on it to try and add extra waterproof for the winter months. I also use a military canvas tent. But for the price of £50 for the oex phoxx 1v2. You cant really go wrong. Thank you for your review. 😊

    Good morning Dave.
Ah yes, I see what you mean now from your comment last week about me being familiar with the tent ⛺️, I've not used mine since last year. But it is inner pitch 1st and not good for winter use (if raining) and very compact and bijou lol.
its definitely not a bad tent and very stealthy if needed. Like you, I still prefer the Bobcat 1 especially if with a tarp to have an even bigger front porch.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟

Morning Rich. Yeah thought you'd appreciate this review. It's a cracking little tent which I definitely need to try again to get a better feel for it.
Have a great one buddy 👍

Thanks for the video. I've got one arriving today to use as a lighterweight tent for when I am out on my own without the Mrs. Liked & Subscribed! Looking forward to watching for content.

@@bushcraftdavetrangia no worries! Will let you know how I get on with it. I ordered the OEX Expedition tarp as well so create some space to cook/sit.

Great review, I have this tent but not used it in anger yet, I have however, used the PHOXX 2, I took that wild camping on Pike o blisco, the weather was poor, (50 MPH winds) and torrential rain, it took everything Mother Nature threw at it. When comparing this and the PHOXX 2 in weight and space in your rucksack, the PHOXX 1 wins hands down, it’s over a KG lighter and would be perfect for long distance trails. I bought a lightweight tarp which is the size of an iPhone 11 when packed away, so could use this as coverage over the tent for cooking in bad weather. I think it’s a case of personal preference and what you’re using it for, but in my opinion, the OEX range is excellent. I also have the Bobcat one, but that’s a story for another day. Best regards. Neil. 😊

Thank you Neil. I often try and make use of the entrance flap as a mini tarp and stick a walking pole in and a spare guy line to hold it up. Then you can cook under it. 👍

It is great to see an honest review, warts and all. I've not branched out overnight yet and was considering this one, but like you quite rightly point out, after a long day on the Trail, if you just want to crash, perfect. If after a long day on the trail in a deluge of rain you want to sit up and eat, etc, then it's definitely a no-go. Thanks for that, Dave. I really appreciate it.

Just used it this week. Thought I'd ordered a kids tent my mistake. So small inside and getting out isn't easy. If you are claustrophobic do not buy, you would wake up in the night and think you are in a coffin.

It is a very small low tent. Good for backpacking, but not spacious 👍

ive just got a new one and in inspection it apperas they have moddified it so it can now be pitched as one rather than the inner then outer, from the old desighn were you had to tie the outer to the inner with the cord around the poles its now got a loop each corner with the outer pre tied so in theory all thats needed is to fit the poles and peg the corners so much better idea if its raining as the fly is already covering the inner, its not ideal if packing away wet as the ties will need to be undone but providing its all pre attached its an improvment for pitching in the rain

How much did you get it for because I think they doubled the price it was £50 and now it’s £99

    • @bushcraftdavetrangia

I got mine in the January sales when people aren't really buying tents. Right now is the time when I imagine they sell more tents as people plan summer trips so they are less likely to be on offer.
To be honest it is a great quality tent so probably worth 99, but keep an eye out and you may be able to find a good offer 👍

nice. 1/ just take care of background. any object or car like yours keep our eyes focusing on it ;) basic video shooting care. 2/ space inside demo means nothing if you don't know thickness of matrass and sleep bag to get the real space ;) keep the good work !

I've never seen a tent with a Porch, seen loads with vestibules which is totally different.
