    I purchased a ton of items at Zara sale. Everything I bought I had fall and winter in mind. I’ve watched most of the latest Fashion Week videos and everything I bought was what I saw in shows. I purchased a few coats with big gold buttons and high collars. So on trend. Lots of more fitted blazers, and tailored pants. So fun!

      Zara’s prices are affordable because of their production practices. Fashion industry is the most environmentally unfriendly sector especially companies like fast fashion such as Zara. Do we need a dozen sweaters just because they’re cheap, they’re cheap because of their bad practices. Think quality practices instead of quantity.

      I love Zara. Our wages stagnate too and everyone is desperate for a little joy. Depending upon the country one lives in that can be harder or easier to find. Where I am, in the USA, 1950s-2000s media propaganda aside, we are NOT all “rich” Our TV & press presents us as such but we are anything but, and we are a hyper-judgy, hyper-looks dependent culture. So yeah, Zara for the win, and the more our wages stagnate, the more we will have to depend on Zara and H&M if we want even a shred of play in the game.
      If someone else is into nuclear physics or philosophy or sociology, may they find their joy.
      They are fortunate to have those interests if they can access books and a friend group to share the interest, so they aren’t completely isolated--when they choose not to be. If you live in a country that has robust social services and a robust outside culture where people can meet and discuss things with friends, that can totally change your outlook too. Even if your racial makeup gives you features that kindly dispose people to you on sight and allows you the grace to be defined as MORE than the clothes you wear/money you can spend--you will have more options with less pain.
      We pretend, far too much that anyone in a western nation has a money tree in the backyard of their (obviously) TV-show-quality, suburban split level, when the truth is we are needing roommates to live in a studio if we want to be where jobs are and where we won’t be fearful of being hit over the head with the old racism & insularity stick when we leave the house.
      For US, there is Zara, and thank effing god, because enjoying fashion, self presentation and beauty isn’t SOLELY for the very rich, who have jobs that value them, or for the 5’10” stick-thin girlies with floating blonde hair, a rich granny in Connecticut and a boyfriend named Zach Thomas Reed III, who takes you on picnics to the cape when he’s up from his banking job in Manhattan. If that is you, by all means save the world, if you can. The rest of us are busy saving our sanity by trying desperately to express what little control we can over our own identity. For US, and for NOW, there is fast fashion or nothing.
      (Not saying that workplace abuses aren’t happening in sweatshops shops overseas but the vast MAJORITY of us earn sweat shop wages in a world that is allowed to demand ever increasingly insane levels of education & housing--and for the USA, medical & auto--related debt. It’s funky all over)

      @@marieoliphant8305 I see you want to invest in style… then what about trying to find your own? “I bought everything I saw displayed in the shows” doesn’t sound quite like it. Also trends come and go, the point here is to find who you are and what you want to express with the way you dress up, and works for your personality and lifestyle. So starting with some food for thought. Then once you have this more figured out you may invest in better quality pieces that can last longer, look more upgraded and be more unique. Plus you won’t support a business/ company harming the environment, using unethical tactics such as child labour. Hope that’s helpful

      Your sermon is both accurate and creatively expressed. (You can't see me nodding like a Karen in church.). There is so little joy, art, or expressive freedom in the US, that fashion is everyman's version. If low prices allow everyone to participate, then that is a good thing. I draw a line at sweatshop labor though, and unless you are being trafficked or work at a meat packing plant, trust me, your existence cannot even creatively be compared to what some women are going through overseas. We DO need to stay vigilant about human rights and hold these companies' feet to the fure, or your cute outfit is gonna come with some really bad energies attached.

    @8:06, the proper term in at least American English for those fabric patterns is plaids. Most of those prints are plaids; only a couple of them I would call checks, like the black and white “checkerboard” pattern.

    • @Outfit-channel
      @Outfit-channel  21 день назад

      You are right, there is a subtle difference between checks and plaids. But this is mostly known to those who deal with such patterns and fabrics. Although most stores do not make a distinction, they often indicate the check print in the description.

      @@Outfit-channel Okay; I see. 👍 I’m 65,and have been handling fabric since I was a small girl, in the U.S. In the U.S., they would be called plaids. I don’t know what they’d be called in other countries.

    Nice video, but please do not advertise real fur. It is not an ecological option and the animals used for fur grow up in terrible conditions in "animal concentration camps". We do not want that, real fur needs to go and be last season forever. The designers will listen when the critical mass grows.

    • @Outfit-channel
      @Outfit-channel  Месяц назад +9

      Thanks for the comment. We don’t advertise anything (nobody pays the channel), we just have an overview of trends, sometimes that are difficult to ignore. As for natural fur, I support your opinion. Many collections actually show fur coats made of faux fur, which just look natural. But it’s also worth noting, not for the sake of fashion, that there are very cold countries and places in the world where people cannot survive without clothes made of natural fur.

      You're right about fur.
      The thing is it's only warming when the fur itself is lining a trench coat, or leather jacket.
      Fur is also heavy, and "shrinks" if exposed to rain or sleet.
      Fake fur is light weight, comes in a variety of colours and designs, plus is less costly.
      A couple of years back I noticed H&M had a fake fur snow leopard jacket, wich was amazing !

      I gave up all leather for decades. Then considered the environmental impact of oil produced products. Vegan products often = petroleum products. I chose the indigenous American way of honoring the spirit of the animal that provided my clothing. It lasts decades and reduces consumption of natural resources.

    • @YesikaDelaCerda
      @YesikaDelaCerda 19 дней назад

      What we do not want is the mistreating of animals, humans, plants, any living thing. We are meant to live our lives in peace. Whether you are vegan or carnivore, we shouldn’t allowed/tolerate others suffering, of any kind. There are also children working as slaves for fashion industries and we shall not consume nor allowed those practices not only in the name of fashion but in the name of humanity and for humans sake.

    I don't follow fashion trends.
    It's a waste of time and money.
    Buy good quality clothes, wich flatter your body size and complection.
    Make a capsule warderobe, adding the odd item from sales.
    I have 40+ year old clothes I can still use, because they're not trendy...
