Wow!! The best zipper pouch tutorial!! I love your french seam method and your instructions are so easy to follow .. thank you for explaining about the groove on the zipper foot. I avoid zippers in my sewing but now I'm motivated to try this one out!! 👍❤️
Very Many Thanks for this tutorial, friend🙏🙏 It's very well done and very understandable.👍👍👍 My best wishes to you and your family for a 2023 of Love and Healthy 🍾🎊🎆💞🎈🎄 😘😘😘😘
Awesome tutorial!! I have seen MANY similar videos that just go on forever, you have accomplished this tutorial with perfect explanations and demonstration! I am on the hunt for those cute zippers!! Thank you!
I haven't sewn a zipper yet, but I'm looking forward to giving this a try. You make it look easy and I'm excited to try it. And, yes, I do like the pretty zipper tape on the outside. Adds an extra nice touch to the pouch. Oh, and I just love the butterfly fabric... so adorable. Thanks for always providing such easy to see and follow videos. You honestly making sewing look very enjoyable. Thanks, Janet.
I’m an experienced sewer but you have just taught me several tricks!!! Love your videos! Love the decorative zipper - have never seen those!!! And love your french seams! Will implement all your ideas in my next projects! Thanks so much! New subscriber!! ❤❤❤❤ hugs, Em in Ohio
I did it! And it came out great! Thank you Angela!! I didn’t have a fancy zipper so I just used a regular one and it looks great. I finally got a zipper done with no trouble thanks to great instructions 😊.
So glad to hear this! As someone else mentioned, you could add a ribbon on top of the zipper tape to make it a bit more fancy. It will be just a bit thicker though. Cheers!
Thank you again for making this look so easy & professional looking. I have made a few of these but I didn’t line them and yours look great with the French seam. I will follow your tutorial next time I make one, which will be soon, as I am going on vacation.
Love this! Angela, can you explain why woven vs. non-woven interfacings are chosen in general? What difference does it make, at least for projects like this? Thanks again for a project to add to my list! ❤
Thanks for watching Janet. Non-woven fusings are more”paper like” and generally cheaper. The woven interfacings are more like fabric and will drape better. I generally use the non woven for items that are not garments for adding stiffness to the project. Keep in mind that the non-woven will still wrinkle with the fabric after fusing together.
@@NotchesSewing Thanks, Angela. I have made a lot of bags and pouches and I just follow the directions without asking why. I knew you would answer…I always learn from you! Happy New Year!
I like this taturial I have made zipper pouches before but this is different I like it. I have a question can you do it with a solid color zipper and were did u get that kind of zipper I have never Sean that kind before.
Yes absolutely you can do with solid colour. The zip just needs to be exact length you want for pouch width. The wider the tape the better. I bought zip in Australia. Any fancy zip will look good😊
I bought mine at Spotlight in Australia. You can Esty or Amazon for fancy zippers but you can use this same method with a plain coloured zipper as it will create a nice band look
Hi Mark, that is an awl that actually came from a snap kit that I have. I have a link for similar sewing awl down in the video description. Just tap "more". Cheers!

@@NotchesSewing Thanks...I'm in the USA...I will have to research!
This has to be the easiest lined zipper pouch I've ever seen!
Hope you give it a try. Depending on your machine, the hardest part may be just getting over thickness at top. Thanks for watching!😊

Don’t be scared of zippers. Just always try to make sure you sew evenly and not too close to the teeth😊
I was scared of zippers for a long time. You can do it and once you do, you'll wonder what you were thinking! Go for it
You are incredibly good at explaining things. I like your videos very much.

My pleasure Janet. I’m not an expert on
most things but I like saving time and having things looking really professional 😊
You've been instrumental in my enthusiasm as a beginner. Do you have a tutorial for a boxy toiletry bag?
Thanks for your kind words🙏. I am working on a boxy pouch but with the wide wire at the top. Will have that in a few weeks. Cheers
I love love your videos. Where can i get this kind of zippers?
I bought these in Australia. Just search for fancy or decorative zipper tape. Cheers!
Thank you! I really like the tutorial. One question though do you need a zipper foot? I don't have one and can't i just use a normal one?
You need the zipper foot to be able to sew close to teeth. A normal foot will not sit properly on the fabric .
@NotchesSewing Alright, Thank you again!

Ohhhh… I purchased a quantity of lace zippers on a whim. Have you used those?
I haven’t but if you use this method just take note that the raw edges may show through your lace?
@@NotchesSewing that was my thought, but I have an idea on how to remedy that 😊. Thanks for answering.
Where can you buy this style zipper? Love it!
