Come along on this All natural shelter build and campout overnight.
I build a solid shelter out of all natural materials.
I use a wool blanket for warmth, and have a long fire burn all night long.
I try smoked duck for supper and sleep out under the stars.

Joe, I’ve been watching your videos since I was 12, I am 20 now. So awesome to see how far you’ve come. The Disney show with you and tripper made me very proud to be a follower of yours. Keep up the great work.
wow! thats really cool to hear, and makes me feel old! hahaha.
seriously, i appreciate you rocking with me that long🙏
Glad to see there are others like me ❤️
@@josephallen19 Timber Hitch for dragging logs./ wrap the log.Make a bight around the running end with the tag, wrap the the bight with the tag 4-6 times. cinch it up.
Use a marlon spike hitch and a good sized branch for a T-handle
I have been watching for about 4 years and now my 8 year old son loves watching with me. Keep it up!
So decades from now random bushcrafters will explore northern Ontario and be blessed with a shelter crafted by Joe. Like winning the woodsman lottery!
When all else fails, I turn on your videos to help me get to sleep. Your videos take the mind off other things. Good job.
'Pokies impeding the necessary fitment.' Thats technical bushcraft jargon if I ever heard it!
This beats the Walmart gig, and that was bad ass.
Wow I’ve been watching your channel since I was 9 and I’m turning 15 now. It’s crazy to see how long I’ve been sticking around.
I love and miss your multi night minimum gear survival bush craft videos
So do I, that`s how I found him in the first place.
Always take your dog even if he gets annoying , we enjoy him giving you more work to do 😎
I try to keep up with your posts don't know how I missed this one so here I am 2 years late 😂..Angie in Scotland
i posted this video and then left to drive my kiddo somewhere, i just looked and saw how many adds there were, usually i go in and manually delete about half the adds that youtube puts in automatically.
i forgot to do this, and have fixed it now.
apologies.
Totally worth watching all the ads! Great video!
Cheers mate!
Long time follower here. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched your videos. Idk why, I guess I just got busy pursuing my own ambitions. But I always whole-heartedly support you, your channel, and your family. You are the ONE that ignited such a fierce love and passion in my life. I owe you a great debt I could never repay. I just want you to know that I will always root for you and I thank you for everything you’ve done for me and the RUclips/bushcraft community. You are a hell of a guy. Cheers mate.
Cool comment, cool comment 👍
Joe . I know you read these. That's part of your charm. I am 52 , living in NC USA. I have been watching your videos for years now. I use to camp , learned it from my father. Now it's just to rough on my body. Dude you make me want to go out and buy a damn canoo! This is one of the most genuine Joe vids I've seen. Also my 1st time commenting. Keep it up man for those of us who can't. Remember "I'm a Loose Cannon!"
Pls don’t say you’d ever want to be anyone other than yourself - you’re talented and adventurous with a great personality. Thank you so much for entertaining us through all your hard work.
Me and my dad love watching your videos together
I work in a museum gift shop, and a couple of weeks ago a woman came up to the counter with a Survival skills book for kids. I joked to her, "I should probably buy copy of this, everything I know about 'survival' I picked up from watching a Canadian guy do bushcraft camping on RUclips." She said, "Thin guy, really short hair?" and I blinked at her and said "...Joe Robinet?" She laughed and said "Yeah, I watch him, too!"
So you have at least two devoted fans in the Pittsburgh, PA area! 🤣 And thanks for another fun vicarious adventure.
Joe it’s me Corbin i’m happy to come across your channel
Every time I see 2 perfect trees like this in your videos It's like Nature wants you to live here .
I am so proud of you Joe
I am 33 and had completely forgot about dark wing duck. The second you sang that it was just a blast from the past haha. Great vids man
Joe, being big or tall does not make the man...being resourceful, caring, and knowing who you are makes a man....you are all that plus more. Consider yourself lucky and blessed.
Joe coming in clutch with the video when I’m bored as shit 🤙🏻
Born and raised in Michigan, Lived in Italy, Austria, Germany, Mexico, Hungary, Yugoslavia (Maribor). The one thing I like the most is wilderness crafting. No matter where we are at in the world, we are not alone. Been watching these videos for years. It is therapy and relaxing. Joe, you do more than you know. Keep taking it forward young man.....Peace and comfort to your family.....Blackcloud....South Carolina...
I just happened upon your videos a few days back. I love them. So interesting to watch you problem solve your way through the process. You crack me up! You can just chat up a conversation with us as if we are working there along side of you. I can't wait to check out your other videos! Keep them coming!
Today's adventure is brought to you by the letter, " D" and the words 🦆 Duck , Dwindle. 🌳 ⛺ 🔥
Been watching you for quite some time, along with a few other folks . Your videos are so much better in my opinion. You seem to be the only one with a voice. Someone watching to learn, will know why you do things the way you do,and if you do something that doesn't work, you'll explain why. Hope you can continue to enjoy the outdoors for a very long time.
That moment where Joe barely escaped a head injury. 😯 Be careful Joe. Love your content.
Call it the NSP. Natural shelter paradise !!
Man I love watching you. I learn more from you than school
We need to send Joe to Maui!! The last time I was there, they had this long long beach connecting two of the main island sections and all the people were camping right on the beach alongside the road. Id like to see Joe flex his "beachcraft" skills
Two on the inside one on the outside . Thanks Joe 10/10👍🎯🇨🇦👏
We are going to get you back on the algorithm 🎉
I would love to see a 3 or 4 day video in this shelter. Build end walls. Fill in roof. Great video
Hey Joe! You should do a live stream sometime so we can ask questions and learn a little more about you.
One of the first thing's I ever smoked was a duck, changed my freaking life. I've never had a juicer and tastier bird.
“Be nice or do something nice for someone today” my favourite part of the video buddy!👊 Supper looked great too, but we gotta get that skin crispy and fat rendered👌🦆
I cannot believe you just broke out the elprasador on that tree😂😂😂 I hope I’m not the only one that knows about that! That’s as old school as it gets! Love you and the videos man!❤️
I am so happy to see you get back to basics with this video. I started watching your videos when Scout was still with you and it seems like you had gotten off track with the survival type of videos. Thank you for going back to the basics with this video.
Just want to say, Corporal’s Corner sent me! Been following him for a couple years and I’ve now subscribed to your channel!
When you were laying down by the fire at night it felt so cozy like we were right there with you. Love these types of videos 🔥🪵
I remember when Darkwing Duck and Gismoduck had a special crossover.
Guys on other channels mention you quite a bit. Joe you are a legend. I love your videos, very inspirational.
Joe at it's very best, yeah! :)
Good video, thanks for sharing. I like these idea builds. Keep it up. You and Chris need to get the gang together again and build a small natural shelter village, and hang out for a week next to a lake so you can fish.
Joe Thank-you for teaching us all the survival do's and don'ts. AND the big hairy ones enjoy watching you...your more then entertainment for then....lol
You inspired me to get a Dog. I was 100% against them then I saw how you and your dog is and slowly realized I haven't given it a fair chance. Now I have an Australian shepherd and will never go back. Thank You! Keep up the inspiring work.
That shelter has a lot of potential. Have to lash the roof down though , finish the sides and you’ll be good. Can even turn it into a super shelter with a Mylar blanket and sheet of plastic in front if you needed too. Thanks for sharing Joe!
I normally don't like music over camping videos but the way it was in this video was really well done and tasteful!
Now this is a lovely site to spend time out at. How everything is so beautifully quiet & so nice. Now that's a cool bed & yep I would not hesitate to lay down on ya wool blanket & the random sheet cos your making me tired just watching you, great bed & fire maker Joe Robinet stay safe
My OCD really appreciate the uniformity of that shelter. Nice right angles over there bud 👍❤️🤯
I live vicariously thru you man.
Heck yeah a Joe video! I'm quitting my job an hour before clocking out so I can watch.
Please, please, please go back to the fort! It's my all-time favorite place you've ever done. This place is great too, but I still love the fort! It was the first major build I saw and I loved all of it. You are so funny and you always explain what you're doing. Keep it coming!!! (Malvern, Arkansas).
Bring your dog!! Loved his antics❤️
Benefit of being a university student? Sometimes you get to watch hours of Robinet on a friday morning while other people have to work.
The downside is that i have to catch up on studying later :)
Thanks Joe! Looking forward to the rest of your videos this year.
Heck yeah a late afternoon Joe Robinet session in The Great outdoors, hell ya gonna be a good night. Love your content buddy!
Just wanted to say that I loved Darkwing Duck! What a blast from the past lol
This is the classic Joe, solo winter bushcraft camp content that I live for. Thanks Joe! Awesome job!
Quality will improve soon, its still processing.
Thanks!
'Liked' Before even watching! Much love Joe!
Thanks for the heads will comeback later, that thumbnail is giving me the OG natural shelter vibes, looking forward to this one.
Miss the video’s with Tripper!! Keep up the good content!
Good one brotha keep it up love to see that ace being used more lol
@@cuttercrim1378 hes a trip for sure...the video right before this one has him i it🙂
Watched this during school today when we weren’t doing any work. It was much needed, reminds me of a classic Joe video. 👍🏻
Psalm 40 Joe, I read it just before watching this awesome adventure, a classic Joe video, thanks bro and the duck was a great symbol of not being offended by others, just let it go like water off a ducks back. Peace to you and your family!
Yes! Been waiting for this. I have a small circle of RUclipsr’s who I strictly follow. Fowler’s Makery and Mischief, The Wooded Beadsman, Modern self-Reliance, Steve Wallis, Oven’s Rocky Mountain bushcraft. But you’re the absolute OG in this nature! My #1 question is why haven’t you collaborated with any of them?
most are pretty far away from me.
Steve and i have plans, the past couple years put a damper on that....hoping soon, thanks!
@@josephallen19 Sick dude thank you so much for responding. I remember when you ate that squirrel like over a decade ago in your premature videos 😂 Super happy to have watched you grow and prosper from the beginning. I don’t own cable television and completely rely on you guys for viewers entertainment. Looking forward to future features! Your stealth camp blew up!
Wasn't the million follower video done at modern self reliance's old cabin?
@@jessebuckley9157 Stealth camp? I hope you don't mean the Wal-Mart one. He camped in a bowling alley parking lot during that video. The hotel he slept in was in his thumbnail....
Edit : I used to look up to him. How does a "survival expert" lose his fire making tool in day 1 of a surviving show? Since then he's just showed off his "Hollywood" editing skills.
@@heruhcanedean shit happens man, ain't nobody perfect and even an expert can mess up
That long fire is awesome. Loved this particular video!
I too suffer from being short, I just remember what my mum used to tell me, "all good things come in little packages", great vid Joe, looking forward to seeing you build another great shelter, keep up the great work, best wishes.
I'm undertall at 4'-11"
Just what I need in Corona isolation 😂 I might still die of boredom later... Thank you for providing some quality time!
Catch the last 30 tomorrow, good stuff, thanks Joe.
Loved this one! I saw Emerald’s doll sitting on the shelter and chuckled. I love making forts now thanks to you. Can’t wait to build them with my grandkids this year.
I LIKE this video for showing a practical way to benefit from a reasonable amount of equipment and local shelter materials. I wish you had tried the 'hot water bottle' hack to keep some part of you more comfortable.
nice camp the long log fire was good the night fires are the best thanks for that share✌️
Thank you mr Robinet, greetings from the Netherlands
Great shelter Joe, really do hope you come back and add to it.
Nice full-length fire warm as toast
Great video, just saying darkwing duck was my jam as a kid
Always good to hear from you, Joe.
Thank you Joe for the simple way and the wise words to be kind...
That looked like fun one. Cold, probably, but fun.
Set up a self feeder log roller thingy.
I lived with a wood burner stove and would set my alarm every hour 45 minutes to stoke my fire.
Great Video!⭐
✌💛🤘
Dry cereal from an ice bowl; the things we do for our kids, lol Thanks for the video, was awesome. Be Well.
Well this is an awesome fort, Looks very comfy loved the long fire very nice. and that chunk of duck looked so tasty . loved the video a always Joe
I miss videos like this.. Really enjoyed watching you build these before you moved. The Scout days
Big thumbs up Joe. Hope all is going well. Take care
Thanks Joe. This was a nice escape.
"Pokies impeding the necessary fitment"...Quote of the day...lol
Enjoyable, thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge
Nice one buddy. Sweet little fort. Thank god for the Tumble Toque! 😛✌
Hey Joe, you could grow some Bamboo in your backyard so you can use strips from Bamboo strings to help build your forts, just a suggestion. Bamboo grows pretty easily in BC at least.
Hi Joe, thanks for the great video as always. I do something nice every day since 1974 in high school. She's my wife and I try and spoil her every day. Be well and safe.
Hey Joe! For roping up logs to drag them, check out the timber hitch. It's super easy (barely even a knot), releases easily, and is perfect for the purpose.
I have to support Ryan's statement.....as a now 59 year old Eagle Scout....never had a timber hitch fail. Easiest knot to tie....easiest knot to untie. Perect know for both temporary and permanent purposes! Keep up the videos.....I enjoy viewing them from my Wyoming home!!!
As a Scoutmaster and father of 2 Eagle Scouts, I cringe at the "lashings". Joe, I love you buddy, been watching you from the beginning, but when I'm on vacation this summer in the Soo, can we go over proper lashings? A good SQUARE lashing for keeping that ridge pole in place will serve you well! Keep up the great videos bud!
You are truly a master craftsman. I remember watching your early videos and this video epitomizes your love for what you do. Keep making videos and we will keep watching. The sky is the limit for old Joe.
👍👍
I totally remember darkwing duck!
Awesome fires Joe! Sure appreciate all your hard physical labor, just for me :) XXXXOOO
You should do a 30 catch'n'cook survival challenge at your fort with Fowler! I'd love to see that!
Oh my god.. he shout out Pres.. Hahah, bro I already liked u but that took it to another level, we are brothers
Loved that little Easter egg for your daughter!
Yes! A Joe video!!! Where’s my beer?!?!?!
I love duck. It's a absolutely incredible in red curry
Like the addition to music in certain spots of the video... Subtle buts adds a lot.
thank you for your work on the filming. I am 4'10" so remember good things come in small packages.
That is in awesome fire; the long fire is awesome
Good vibes, best video for a while!
How you layered the bed materials was amazing, its totally logical, but not something that one might just think of on their own.
Darkwing Duck... Loved that show. Let's get dangerous!!! 🤣🤭
