This goes to the top of Lenana which is a sub peak on the side of Mount Kenya. The actual summit of Mount Kenya can be seen at 17:13. It is a technical rock climb to summit Mount Kenya and so the tourists are not taken there.
That was epic ! You must feel now that the suffering in the cold was worth it ? The other two slightly higher peaks are Batian and Nelion All three peaks are named after Maasai chieftians Nice touch adding the relive videos.Yes an epic trek something you wont forget in a long time im sure !
Take your own gear if you really wanna be comfortable and warm enough! We did a last minute budget tour and we nearly froze! That said, I can give you the contact for a guide and good deal if you're interested..
They went as far as lenana peak. Which is still a great fete. Most people don't go beyond Lenana. The 2nd highest is Nelion and the highest Batian. Those two are a technical climb though. I wish more people went to Batian. The videos of the climb would be extra awesome.
@@martino6205 I did it with a guide in the end. Totally worth the money. Not because it is technical because in my opinion it isn't but because of high altitude sickness
If you shop around, $300 including park fees, guide, porters, gear, food and camping for a 4-day hike. Though booking in advance, we met people paying up to $700.
Cyclist117 this is great advice and I had a feeling you were going to say that. It always seems cheaper to book while you’re there and inside the country. You’ve saved me time and money, many thank 😀🤟
Cyclist117 Mt. Kenya mandatory park entry fees for non-residents are USD 208 for a 4-day package. I’ll let that sink in. Not everything you read on the internet will apply to you, do your own research. It is generally cheaper to book in country than online, but $300 for a 4-day Mt. Kenya trip for non-residents is no bueno.
was there 35 years ago. Sad to see the ice sheets gone.

Thanks for the nice video. I like the yellow map line.
Awesome job guys! Views absolutely incredible from the top 😱
I'm Kenyan but I have never seen the mountain. Thank you.
I live right here in Nanyuki. The cold can keep you awake the whole night, can't imagine how much worse it was for you guys!

Awesome vlog and experience. Very informative too
Yeah, I don't sleep well at these altitude levels... It's a stunning experience but nights are dreadful..
There are some national parks like Masai Mara National
I went there last year دريم للبوهيات
Hey Greg, Excellent video! loved it. Would like to get in touch with your guides. =).
Amazing. You made it look simple
Well done guys. Could you please share the per head cost in USD for the total trek? It would be so helpful. Thanks.
Beautiful! Thank you.
The real summit is behind you! Point Lenana is just a high altitud trekking 570 meters below the real summit called Batian.
nono it was hilarious when he said 'natakka kojoa" eyyyy it was so funny with his accent
Hio ilinimaliza pia haha. leta number tupande mlima pamoja

Cyclist117 hey guys loved the video! If you’re still reading comments I’d love your guide’s info! Looking forward to your next upload!
Climbing the second tallest mountain in Africa has definitely been in my bucket list. Love the video, share some basic tips for early preparations
Hey! Did you climb?
@@wamz9191 most of the way. Got pretty sick round mckinders and so they advised me to turn around. Still had such an amazing time though
what month did you do this?
Which month did you hike
Thank you very much
17:04 is the real peak behind you? I can see a peak behind you which is way higher than where you are.

Awesome stuff, Mate!😍
Mount KIBO is a volcano?
Can mount kenya be climbed without a guide and in November?
It's too technical to go without a guide, but you can go in group of experienced friends/ team by yourselves.

Awesome video. Which tour company did you use for this trip? Planning to do the hike in February. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks😀
If you haven't climbed the mountain yet, bonfire adventures is the real deal
Epic! Are you filming and editing all on your phone?
I am.. What dya reckon?
Cyclist117 really good work Greg! Are you really selective at filming or is it all quite easy to chop and splice? What phone do you have?
Using LG V20. Pretty easy to edit using Kinemaster.. I'm reasonably selective too though.
@@cyclist1176 powerdirector is very good too for videos lol you are only missing the epic drone footage on your videos 🤣
@@cyclist1176 hey?
Beautiful video
How much does a trip like this cost? Any recommendations?
Cycling Africa? Or just climbing mount Kenya?

Big up Joseph the Guide...
Hardly any snow!
Assuming they went in April they were quite lucky that it was not raining every day..
No way the guide was our porter/cook just yesterday, this is after coming back
Really?? How cool is that, hope you had a good trip with Joseph!
Cyclist117 yes his name was Joseph, he is a great guy!
Some day I will also touch the sky before I turn 40
Do it
@@cyclist1176 sure I will
