Thanks a lot for sharing your experience and all the detail regarding the expenses at the beginning, this is extremely useful for someone that is planning on doing the hike without using an expensive operator. Question : would you think this was doable without having to use a guide ? (I've been trekking solo in multiple mountain ranges including the Alps, Nepal and India) Also, what is the internet situation overall ? I'm planning on doing some remote work from there. Thanks 🙏
I really enjoyed watching this and it inspired me since I am planning on doing the Sirimon route in 3 days when I visit in January. When was your hike, in December? Also did you wait until reaching Nanyuki before hooking up with a guide or was pre-registered with a touring company beforehand while in Nairobi? I didn't register yet but researched many companies and figured I'd choose the dates when I arrive in Nairobi, I got 10 days when I arrive.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Sirimon is special and that should be a good time to hike to avoid the cloudy days. I went in November during the rainy season. I waited until nanyuki to find a guide. I actually contacted the National Park to advise me on a guide so I could avoid the more expensive tour services.
What a brilliant presentation, these shots are spectacular my friend! Landscapes and winter scenery are majestic here.
Great to hear you enjoyed it. The place is magical indeed and was lucky for the sky to break free for some big Mountain Views
Awesome video and brings back all the great memories. I was a guide for 17 years and this route has not changed much.Beautiful mountain.

The vibe is energizing. The cook (lady at Old Moses) is hilarious if one understands Kikuyu 😂. You're such a knowledgeable guide

You'd love the big views and friendly people!
Isn't the guy at 2:20 the one who died on Mt Kenya trying to save a hiker? I believe his name is Kelvin Muriuki Mwithi.
Great video dude!
Thanks man!
What camera did you use?

Coming on December 18th
Are you going to climb K2 & Mount Logan?

How was the Oxygen???
On the second morning?
On the second morning I felt better but I still could barely sleep. Less headache but I was absolutely frigid throughout the night
