    Sir, let me tell you one thing, two-three years ago I was the guy who comes from a non-it or non-technical background(bachelors in commerce to be more precise) and a want to be a developer guy, and at that time I really want to be the part of this industry and I had(I still have by the way) a great enthusiasm and a great desire to become a developer, and at that time you and your videos helped me a lot(and I mean a LOTTTTT!!!!). And today is the day, I am a professional web-developer, a game developer, and an app developer with 2+ years of experience.
    Thanks a lot, Sir!

    So so true,
    I have been a software developer for 7 years now, after a reconversion, and yes is so so hard, but you'll love it after the struggling part, that's the process, trust the process. Well said learn-forget, learn-forget.
    Thank you, Imtiaz for giving back to the world.

  • @Noobrzor
    @Noobrzor 3 года назад +2

    Forgetting as a necessary element in the learning process? Damn, what a genius yet unique perspective - haven't heard that before and I've consumed lots of self-help mumbo jumbo. Kudos and thank you for that, what a way to turn an enemy (forgetting something) into a friend.
    Software development lifecycle and learning lifecycle, haha. Develop, maintain, make obsolete, repeat. Makes you a better programmer. Learn, practice, forget, repeat. Makes you a better student.
    Edit:
    Holy hell this is so genius I can't believe I haven't heard a sentence like that before. It's so obvious now that I think about it! When you're using a skill you have, you need to remember how to do something. How are you gonna recall it if you haven't forgot it yet? The more times you forget, the more opportunities you present your brain to relearn information (including getting a new perspective) but also recall what it already knows and what it doesn't (so should be improved upon) and making all kinds of comparisons and new connections!
    What's more that kind of approach takes off a lot of pressure. If you don't get/understand it perfectly the first time and you're worried it was all wasted effort because you'll forget it all and will have nothing out of it? Oh, well, turns out that's never the case, that even learning that something is wrong is a valuable lesson adding onto the pile of knowledge. Whatever you learn, you forget, and this lets you relearn it better, and there's just...no way to lose, really.
    This is revolutionary. Far outside soft dev or whatever. If you, sir, were a floating point variable you'd be a +Inf.

    I love how you talk about those crazy bootcamps. Sooo true. Yes, coding takes time, patience, and diligence. I am learning how to code for about 6 months now and in the beginning when I started I had to restructure my whole brain. It takes time but yes it will pay off. Thanks for your encouraging words. You are the only one that tells it like it is.

    Everything you said I've experienced. I have been studying Python including your Python course and I keep learning and forgetting certain things like string methods etc, but I keep watching and doing over and over. Its all starting to synch in but slowly. What I get from this video is to keep trying and I'm not stupid. Thanks.

    SQL is probably the only thing I could possibly say that I know it well somehow. Python who has the most easiest syntax is giving me a nightmares, not to even mention some languages like java or c. You really need to be extra smart for some things.

    After getting my cs degree, going into IT support, then taking a coding boot camp 3 years ago to get into the Industry, Imtiaz you are right. Practice is everything and no degree or certificate will ever show that. I was feeling down in the dumps for not knowing how to solve a big tech coding assessment. Yes I am Frustrated, but I want to improve and get better. Your video showed me I can. Thank you sir.

    The sudden shift from a general line of code to something specific and long winded is what I blame the most as a discouraged programmer. I don’t enjoy thinking about it, I just expect it to work which is why programming falls in this basket case of if it takes too long to learn then it isn’t worth it, especially when the instructions aren’t clear.

    Thank you so much for your advice. Today's learning is self-learning. Some of the instructors are great scientists but teach beginners like talking to experts. Maybe they were Marathon runners. They like to jump here and there. Technology is making them become lazy, but for us students it is helping us a lot. Thanks to youtube. googling + YouTubing = success/2. Thank you again. Keep your hard work.

    I learned Java and was pretty good, but life got in the way, so I lost it but still understand syntax and variable concepts. Now I'm trying to relearn and yes never give up. I don't do this for a job, I do this because I like to make things come to life as coding can do.
