Thanks for sharing man. I can really relate when you talk about it. I landed my first cybersecurity job/IT job (5 months ago) and feel like I do everything for my team. As the new guy, I don't take PTO since I'm worried I'll fall behind. Training was minimal and there were no procedures written. I started writing procedures as I learn my daily job duties for my company to help future hires down the road. I spend time off hours to learning things that could help me improve such as practicing code. I stay up for weeks sometimes and can't sleep because I'm part of an on-call rotation. Sometimes, it's so hard to separate yourself and work. I never thought this is what the corporate world would be like. Good luck to all and make sure you exercise, eat right, and spend some quality time away from work. The IT burnout is real.

That applies to studies from home as well. I am a Post Grad student in Tech....life can become hell in your own home too. People make fun of working from home but even WFH is not for everyone.

Working from office does not guarantee productivity either, especially when a company doesn't care about its employees well being.

I’m not in tech, I am in art business and your advice still applies. Have been wfh and just realised that I hardly ever go out. I lose count of days sometimes months. I love my job and find it difficult to detach as it does not feel like work. Went away for a spa weekend with girls and after one day of doing nothing I thought I would lose my mind.

You can experience burnout everywhere IMO (even when you're working from office), you'll burn out very quickly if your employer/company gives you too many jobs which you have to do alone (doesn't matter whether you are at home or office).

100% agree to the work from home advices. Set specific times when you have to work from home, so when to start and when to stop each day (and stick to these times at any cost!). Otherwise you will soon end up beeing caught up in work all day and on the weekends too. That's what happend to me when I was "enjoying" the convenience of working from home in the beginning.

Very good advice. Thanks for the insight! Working from home in tech at a small IT firm, I can totally relate to what you are saying. Keeping the focus can be a difficult situation as well if you don't have that discipline. One thing that has helped me is being able to have a workstation at home which I can sit or stand at and has good lighting.

This video was really helpful. Since we are in a WFH environment since March, i had this habit of waking up 15 minutes prior to my office hours and then miss on all the personal chores that i need to take care. i was feeling burnt off from the office pressure. i had completely forgotten the point that i was missing discipline. Thanks for such a wonderful video. I am currently unndergoing your elasticsearch course and i am already a fan of your explanation techniques.

I honestly think the same for working from home. I find it very hard to detach myself from work, and working for Startups could be very tricky. I burned out many many times because I was unable to detach myself and kept working until 2 in the morning. Thank you for a great video. It made me push myself to bring discipline in my life.

Thanks for sharing Imtiaz. I’ve going through this since several months ago and I believe it’s good to be able to identify what’s happening and knowing that I’m not the only one in this situation.

I used to think, if I have rest, the energy will increase, but I was wrong. The stress didn't go away. Praying solah and recitation of Quran help me decrease the stress and weakness, sometimes I couldn' t even think. We should take care of our brain condition, especially when working on logic intensive task like an algorithm or architectural stuff. I think we have something like fuel, if it is going to zero, we feel weakness and burn out.

    Hi Imtiaz,
Is your course suitable for a novice like me? I graduated in Accounting as well but i dont like it. I have zero knowledge in coding, just started learning HTML and CSS basics.
I am interested in purchasing your course but would like to know if there are any pre-requisites needed since im a total newbie.
    Awaiting your reply.
    Thank you
