To be honest you don't need two jacks. You can easily drop rear suby and put it back on just using 1 jack. Have changed rear brake discs and one snapped coil today. Thanks for a video.
Thanks for this! Halfords wanted to charge me £138 to change a spring. I thought it would just pop out as it’s on a trailing arm. I followed your vid but I used springs compressors to help get the spring out and it compressed quite a lot. I got the spring out on the other side without having to take the shock out, once it was compressed enough.
@@SocketsAndSideburnsgreat video, liked it and subscribed too, what's the part numbers for upper and lower rubber mount, can't find anywhere part number or proper name. Thank you in advance Kind Regards
@@SocketsAndSideburns yeah just did the job and you are right, I had the wheel bolts loosened and decided to take them off when it was in the air anyway, much better access, also having the wheels off allows you not to have to Jack it so high in the first place to lower the suspension the required amount. Anyway great vid and mine is a megane 3 grand tourer and identical to yours 👍
Like your video. I guess spring rubber mounts under the spring on my Scenic III mounted not correct. Coull you also advise on Laguna III, how the rear springs rubber mounts shall be directed?
That is a really clear demonstration; thanks! Obviously the video is edited for time; how long does this job take in reality for a pair of rear springs? You can guess I have this car and have just discovered this problem :)
A garage really shouldn't bill more than and hour or two at most for this. For yourself it depends on what tools you have and whether anything decides to not play ball. If everything goes fine done in two hours easy.
If is possible to brin up all car for 10cm or more and if possible what is cepest way to do it? In this video i' ask mu self what wil happened to pu ti bigger spring?
Where did you place the jack stands? Also, definitely don't need the wheels off. Easy job with them on but couldn't see many places to put the stands on mine..
Hello, I have some damage at that top mount but i can't find the spare part nowhere, could you tell me the name of it please? Or where can i find it? thanks
I cannot find it online either. It should just be called a top mount but it has a kind of bump stop incorporated also. The bottom one is easy to find. I'm afraid you'll have to go to the parts and service desk at a Renault dealer. If the part is hopelessly expensive then ask them for the part number and try googling that.
Great video mate.
I've just replaced both springs on my megane and saved nearly £200 thanks to you.
💎 geezer.
Well done! This is the kind of comment that makes producing the videos worth it. Thank you.
Really liked your video. Very useful to see how its done, with details like the nut dimensions and torque settings. Thanks.

Thanks. Definitely both sides need to be unbolted if you don't want to use a spring compressor. Very helpful and only took 45mins in the driveway
Great video, helps me to get this job done on my MKIII Megane. Thanks!!!
Hello I was just wondering what is that little blue part that the top mount attaches to ?
It is just part of the body of the car.
Step by step, great video. Tnx.

Saved yourself a pretty penny there and you know its done right.

Cheers- good video very clear, doing mine tomorrow, I reckon you could leave the wheels on but I guess it gives more room to work 👍
Hope it helps. I guess you could get away with it but being able to come in from the side greatly improves your visibility and access.

Super easy with this video.❤
Video au top, merci beaucoup ☺️
check the brake caliper guides. You have strange marks / grooves / streaks on the brake discs.
It's on the to do list.
Thanks, very clear video !
Can you please provide all parts numbers/names if possible, expecially top and bottom spring mounts can't find it anywhere

Another nice job
Was that really needed to remove the wheels?
Great video! Would this be the same process for the Grand scenic?
I'm not 100% sure. Take a look underneath.
I just replaced a coil spring on a Grand Scenic. Same procedure.
Hello! Do u think it’s possible to take one side and then take the other side? I only have access to one jack
Some people have commented that they have managed to do it. It certainly won't be as easy though.
If we ever meet I have to buy you a pint or 10! Did exactly like you did in this clip and man it was so darn easy. Thanks
Where did you place the jack stands?

I put the stands under the rear jacking points.
