Social norms can be so toxic sometimes! “Why aren’t you mindlessly dating and exchanging your sexual energy with people you barely know?” “Why don’t you drink poison?” “Why don’t you procreate even though you haven’t done any self-work (mentally emotionally, spiritually, socially), don’t have the proper support network, financially secure, etc? There's a lot of pressure on anybody to be in a relationship or be married! It's a monumental social shift to uphold being single as a valid life choice. You have to dismantle centuries of wedlock and intimacy being the sought after and accepted. Centuries! And to be honest, I don't know if singleness is genuinely a choice for a lot of people or whether it's what someone feels they NEED to access in order to be at peace. It's just seems like a lot of people are glad to be single because they are avoiding the drama of a possible bad relationship; they aren't exactly expressing the benefits directly related to singleness (like how you get more time to know and discover yourself). This is just such a critical topic. It's very physiologically deep.
Definitely a better message than what’s being put out there these days. But marriage is a beautiful thing. My wife and I have both grown so much in out marriage and have become much better people overall. I worry that women’s standards have become so impossible that they’ve put themselves in a cycle of perpetual singleness.
@@SPM-tv Why is there so much concern about women being single, but not men? Statistically, single women are often better off than single men. Many of the standards women have in relationships aren’t unreasonable-it’s just that a significant number of men hold misogynistic views, which understandably discourages many women from pursuing relationships. Historically, men benefited from not having to be decent partners because societal expectations were lower. Today, women expect more, but many men resist changing because they see how previous generations got away with not being better partners and still managed to be in relationships.
@@marlyb176 I can actually understand burning out from constant mistreatment and I feel bad that things have gotten that bad. But in my personal experience I have seen a ton of quality dudes go through break ups and divorce because their significant other just wanted more. Now maybe living in a four bedroom house with your bachelors degree is your idea of happiness but it just seems like superficial meaningless success. I know not all situations are the same and that men can be disgusting but sometimes women can be unrealistic and will ruin lives in pursuit of a goal that won’t make her happy.

Coming up on my 1st year and I never thought I could do this!!!! But I must say its been great and im still alive 😂😂😂😂 I've gotten closer to God and I'm learning more about myself during this time of celibacy
That is wonderful. Are you abstaining or celibate? Because these are two different things. Celibacy means that you've made a commitment to God and you're not willing to take a partner. Now abstinence is that you're waiting on God to bless you with a worthy man. I think alot of people get the two confused. Now I've been abstinent for about three years.
I wish more women had the strength like her. Men would appreciate us more. Loving yourself first is the key to this life. For both men and women. I dont think any earthly man can ❤ me, they way I ❤ myself. Only the heavenly father shows me the utmost ❤. God bless!
Although I understand & agree with your point of view, love! The generation of women before us lived in a time where being as chase as possible was "the norm". However, if you actually talk to the older women, a lot of them will mention what they went thru with men in relationships! Most of the convos I've had, esp from older married ppl, there was so much that they just allowed, kept quiet about etc. Of course, some ppl will quickly use the typical "well those were different times etc" to deflect. But my great grandmother was "given away" to a 32 year old man. She was only 14 & a virgin. This was very common during that time. He consistently cheated on her & had 3 separate families on the side. I worked in assisted living facilities & the messed up things that I heard were no joke. Fast forward today, I honestly don't see a huge difference except for women actually have some rights! Yes, we have the hookup culture nowadays! However, I still feel that both parties need to be honest about what they want or leave ppl alone, but that won't happen! I've been celibate myself so I'm speaking from experience! I think it ultimately depends on good men & women vetting each other & ppl respecting each other. You can be an amazing person, but you will mean absolutely nothing to the wrong person! Sorry for my long comment btw.

And psychologically deep!
Impressed to see all of these celibate ladies commenting here. I too have been going for a few years and honestly, I dont even want to be bothered with a relationship.
She is very centered and it's beautiful! I love her spirit.
Celibate for almost 6 years now 😇🙏🏾 and it's the best decision I've made
She's Glowingggggg
Celibate 9 years and I have gone above and beyond goals and aspirations that I had set for myself. Love has no limits when it comes to me.❤
That is truly a spiritual gift. I have been on and off with self love. However, seasons change.
Explains her beauty, glow and personality. Celibacy is a powerful love experience with God and self. It will help you sustain. Fasting is also important 🙏🏾 Praying and reading Gods. I pray my strength. I've gone years and need to get focused again 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💞
The beauty of it is peace
Mya needs to tell her beauty secrets because she keeps getting better and better with age. She looks flawless and never age.
Hollywood diet. Coke and whole foods. Maybe now ozempic or maunjaro
@@3naturalBionutritionweirdo for that uninformed comment Mya is actually a vegan mainly a raw vegan and minds her business …she doesn’t really do Hollywood like that…way to go for judging
@MJHARVEYSWORLD vegan is NOT synonymous with healthy. There is alot of vegan junk food and alot of overweight and obese vegans.
The world needs to see this kind of video more
It's been almost 4yrs for me, feels GREAT !💜
I'm all for this.
People need to love and work on themselves...FIRST!!❤
@PrinceJancelot which is HER choice
I love this! I am practicing celibacy currently as well! I’m glad more and more people are talking about this ❤ it’s been one year for me!
I love the way Mya speaks😍
Very inspirational…I have been celibate for almost half a year and it has change my prospective of how I view myself and love. Looking forward to spending time with myself and growing , developing relationships based on friendship and growth. Thank you for sharing.
God bless her!!! I loved Mya when growing up!!!❤❤❤
I've been celibate for a number of years. I agree with her. Mya is a beautiful example of living life truly, deeply, authentically. It really is about getting to know yourself fully. Doing what you need to & want to do for yourself. It's been a deeply transformative time. So healing on so many levels. 💜✨
I love that Mya her authentic self…go girl, keep inspiring 🙏🏾💪🏽❤️
It explains why she is still beautiful, in and out. Peace of mind will give you that.
36 and waiting until marriage. It hasn’t been easy and growing closer in my faith taught me that I need to control myself so when I have my wedding night I’ll be more than ready.
Hope you enjoy all 5 seconds of it
@@Livefree902well you won’t be there so it won’t be an issue
Same I’m waiting to get married too. Yes it’s not easy at all I understand that
Marriage most likely won't happen
@@3naturalBionutrition maybe for YOU 🫵🏾 but don’t speak that on her life you stranger.
Great for her! Celibacy is a choice I made 2 years ago for myself,l and God. Celibacy allowed me to heal my body and my soul. It empowered me more as a woman to reorganize my life.
That's right Mya, you deserve the best that God have for you!
This is the kind of woman we need should advise our daughters about. amazing!!
To marry themselves?
What on earth has this depraved world come to?
@@tiffanyjones2710 Somebody with sense! How narcissistic can you be to marry yourself!!
Thank you Mya this is very encouraging to see a beautiful woman such as yourself that has morals and loves herself. I love listening to your song " Take me There" from the Rugrats movie. I never knew it was you but I heard it as a child and enjoy it to this day. I never knew you married yourself but I congratulate you.
Preach, lots of people don't understand.
Mya is that Girl! Stunningly beautiful, inside and out❤
It changed my life also!! It’s an amazing power!!
Ahhh! This is so refreshing to hear.
Appreciate her for telling us her private business
Exactly self preservation is everything ladies 😊think about it ❤

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Good for you Mia! Im learning the same lessons now. Thanks for your transparency.
On year 8 over here. Life is so much better, I feel better, have less drama and nonsense. Peace of mind. Education, money, family and animals. Notice how great her and Lenny both look? They are both celibate vegans.
I'm here with you Mya!
Your relationship with God levels up when you become celibate. And that's because your spirit is no longer suppressed by your fleshly desires. I've been celibate for almost 2 and a half years.
The more l know about Mya I've realized that she's truly a Virtuous Woman and I pray one day that we can meet and have some life conversations.
Wow she is still soo beautiful. Yes Queen ❤ how empowering
Love this and she is right. Love yourself first.
Self love is the best love.
Celibate for 3 years and i am loving it!!!!!!
Thank you Mya
Celibate for 9 and so glad❤
God is not pleased when we have sex outside of marriage. This is sin. Her sharing this to the world is a good thing but is private. We all have to answer to God for what we do especially with our bodies. I have been on this journey and I have so much peace and I know it has kept me from harm, pain and lots of drama. God bless her and those who want more spiritual clarity.❤❤❤❤
Amen!! ❤ I love she’s talking about this.
Ive been 6years now. Feels good❤❤
Wow everyone on here has been celibate for so long, 😮congrats to all of yah. ❤ Please pray for me I’ve entered 6 months now, it has not been easy for me but praying God sees me through this. I’m 46 years old and had three very long relationships that absolutely drained my physically, emotionally and mental health. So from here on I want to go Solo until my God comes get me, but I know it won’t be an easy walk. Trying to use Paul as my example 😅
Coming up on my 1st year and I never thought I could do this!!!! But I must say its been great and im still alive 😂😂😂😂 I've gotten closer to God and I'm learning more about myself during this time of celibacy
Screaming to the rafters!!! Thank you❤🎉❤🎉
Omg! This is so me, I've been celibate for 5 years now but I have more peace now than I ever have! Thank God!😇💗🙌
This expectation shouldn’t just be on women. Men should also be encouraged to be celibate as well.
@@MayISpeak Definitely!
@@rosamondmaylor5558 nah they can't appreciate it. They are commenting "lies" and "cap" under my comment because i said I've been celibate for 11 years. They are so silly they can't appreciate a woman with self-love, self respect and confidence. The ones who can appreciate us are the exception not the rule.
Men do not appreciate anything so don’t ever do anything in expectation that they will treat you better for it. Men don’t know or love themselves if you celibate they look at you funny like is something wrong with you if you have sex they question of you are easy. 😂
Praise God she sees Gods calling!
I'm celibate this year and still going 😊
She is level headed. I like this. She a different one.
Amazing I did 18 months once I can do it again this time longer. 💯
And she looks great...stress free, beautiful skin, and calm spirit!!!!! True self love!
Been celibate for 8 years gives peace and discernment. Won't marry myself tho
lol no I would not marry myself ..I would marry for love ,someone who has integrity ,is Good and Kind. Self love is very important and knowing what you want and who you are.
Wow. That’s a whole lot of strength. Respect ❤
Good for her. What folks are saying in the comment section is true about the benefits of celibacy. Another thing which could go along with that is fasting
She’s so intriguing and beautiful in and out! She’s a great woman I love how she speaks and sings ❤ and she’s definitely tapped into another level of intelligence
