I’ve been struggling with imposter syndrome in my new ux job, glad that I’m not alone!
Hi Lil! Great e-meeting you :) I feel like I felt a lot of it a lot more intensely in my first few UX jobs, but still some levels of it even after being in ux roles for years. In Kevin’s talk that I listened to in this vid, he also shared that folks with phd + decades of experiences feel it too. You’re def not alone, and we’re fighting thru this together💪

loved this! thank you for sharing what a realistic day in the life looks like :) i work fully remote as well and was wondering how you go about building relationships with your coworkers/team while working remotely? I started a fully remote as a new grad (on west coast) and most of my team is based on the east coast so it’s hard to get irl interaction! would love some advice :)
Hii Melissa!💜Thanks for enjoying my video!🥰 Ahh I’ve felt that way too when i first went fully remote. It’s tough when you’re fully remote + especially when you’re on a diff timezone from your team!
I now feel super close and comfortable with my team, but it definitely took some time. I had to do a lot of regular 1:1s with my team and build relationship over zoom! It totally helps when you shape the convo to be non-work related! I’ve seen people also just ask if i mind some weekly 1:1s to “catch up” - so that it doesn’t sound like yall need work related agenda, and that made them feel a lot closer to others!
It also helped a lot when I FINALLY met my team in person. We didn’t get the opportunity for an official offsite so a few of us just arranged it and flew over for a hangout! Idk if you ever have opportunities to visit the city where most of your team is located, but irl interaction (even if just once) makes you feel so much more comfortable with your team too!
