@captaincrankshaft just a little bit of advice, crutchfield typically has a TON of car stereo adapters for almost every car made. I see you did get an adapter to work but maybe for future stuff you can check them out.
Loving the content here, I want to get one of these so bad. I love that its a tribute for your dad, its gonna be really special when its done. I can't wait to see it when it's done!
Man. Even though cars are a pain, it is pretty refreshing to see videos like this, where there is genuine pation and love behind modifying a car and making it your own. I hope those issues do get solved eventually but until then, I'll stay tuned!
this series is great, I can't wait to see the full transformation. Also, I think it's great you are doing this for your dad, even though he may not be around, it's a fun tribute.
I love this series. two guys with a 996 with not much experience making the ultimate 911 for Jackson's dad. I had to sub when I saw the exhaust video. Keep it up 🔥🔥
Good content from this channel for sure, saw them on RUclips shorts and instantly had to watch this Porsche build. Keep modding this thing and stay close to oem ❤️
There’s an upgrade from Porsche that released recently that upgrades older models like this and gives it a screen including Apple CarPlay, I recommend it!
I am a really big car lover and my dad bought a 1983 Corolla it's like a minivan and my dad recently started working on it and now it's finished and it is really beautiful
Even though you and your car suffered enormous difficulties and problems, you dont seem to be really angry but you seem to have fun with it. Appreciate the good work. Really hope your car moves on 😊
Don't forget getting a propper tune before doing engine upgrades, could bump the horsepower up a little. I really like the interior you did, very good choice!
Bro love your content, keep up the great work, btw I looked for some cheap Porsche 911s and they were all convertible, do you think they’re gonna have reliability issues more
As someone with a VERY similar story behind why I got my 996, I have a few pointers from the past 3 years of restoration: Changing the engine mounts is super easy and makes a wild improvement (get function first ones) Change oil every 3k miles and use Ceratec with every other change (protects against bore scoring) Don’t rev above 3k rpm until the fluid temp reaches 180 Look up “radiator dual fan hack” and there’s a great thread on rennlist about how to install a switch to prevent the car from running hot, and bypass the radiator fan switches that tend to break Change front sway bar end links Spark plugs and coil packs could use a refresh at this age, they take a while but only need a few tools- I recommend for some fresh feeling turn-in I have so many more tips and DIY’s that I’ve done, feel free to reach out to me for anything 996!!! Keep up the good work captain!
The most entertaining car series I've ever watched.. Also becuase its like straight to the point Also change the title to upgraded my dad's porche if u see this
Captain, the car is really nice with the cool metal floor mats, this project of your father's dream car is wonderful and I would like to give you advice on an alternative to the radio, you can use a Bluetooth speaker to enjoy it a little of music
If you call Porsche and give them your vin they will give you the security code. Back in the 90s to early 2000s people used to steal radios all the time. My dad in fact would take the radio out every time he left his car while living in NYC.
I watch this guy every single day and it is so cool how he is modding the Porsche I love this series I have to fix up two cars one is a red 1964 ford mustang and a blue 1987 Chevy Camaro
Hello I have one request Can you please make videos on car knowledge like what are different types of engines, what is compression, how engine works etc. I love watching your videos but sometimes I'm not able to understand the technical jargon. It would be really helpful if you could make a series having such type of videos. Thank you and love from India 🇮🇳
I like the idea of the race mats and it is really better than before but i think if u have done like a new porsche theme in an old car it would be a lot better
Bro come to India Literally they can make it brand new or modify it as per your thoughts, at really cheap price. I can recommend you bromotive channel on RUclips for a glimpse.
You gotta love this dude.❤️ Man, you are gonna be my icon when i grow up! Plus, respect for doing this for your father! (Sick tirbute) Also. Rest in peace
I'm only 10 min in and omg this is and awesome video touches my heart to be honest I lost my dad too 17 years ago it wasn't to cancer but I get it to some extent I love your videos!! Keep it up
Right now I'm paying on a 2018 230.. and a 911 is a dream for me. I hope one day to buy a fixer upper and have no payments and do something like this. Thank you for the motivation, love these videos.
My dad and I had a 2002 Subaru Impreza Sti and we had built the car from not being able to run to being a car that made 25 pounds of boost easily and watching this series reminds me of those memories
For the radio you could have used an FM transmitter which you connect your phone and the audio play thorough your speaker. My dads car doesn’t have Bluetooth so we use an FM TRANSMITTER. It will great with the radio and will bypass the amplifier
Yes! but there is a car on jack stands in the garage so we should have that video out in the next couple of weeks. Super excited about it. Sorry for the wait
My brother owned a 1990s boxster in the mid 2000s, and some kind of 911 in the late 2000s, and in both cases I was surprised by how plain and basic the interior was, it really does look like something out of a VW golf or similar
I love these videos and am now subscribed. I love them for 2 reasons. 1. Your and your dad's story. This is going to be a beautiful adventure and I can't wait to see the 'finished' product with the car. but 2. Because as someone who also doesn't know how to work on cars, doesn't want to become a mechanic, but loves cars and would love to purchase something similar to what you have, this is truly inspiring content that makes me think I could do it to.
I loveee your content man! Been watching you for a while and you never dissapointed well im not old enough to even drive so ill drive porsches in games 😅
Love this series as I am about to get a 996. May I ask for future to keep the camera a bit more steady …?? Thank you and your family for making the videos!
Very nice video, now whats needed to complete the interior (in my opinion) is a gated shifter, new seats and a more modern steering wheel. Oh and the radio ofc😅😅
Love you videos brother🙃 Have watched your shorts before but from you first long video about tjis 911 been watching you. Can't wait to see more videos on modding this car😁
I noticed ur located in mass and i cant stress this enough, auto engineering in lexington mass is the best shop for german and other european cars, especially VAG cars. Best prices and amazing service

The fact this whole build is driven by the passing of his father really shows how much a good dad can change a man's life. Good video!
