I would have paid just to sit next to him, eat some good food,play my hand drum to his grumming and just enjoy that music! Ahh well.

    Gabriel I love your simple walk and talk approach,nothing feels forced or affected,its really works and shows really what travelling is all about.Good to see you walking the streets of London.I still appreciate your style most compared with other travel vloggers...Idk maybe it is a generational thing !!! and remembering a time when people just did their thing without it being announced to the world in any major way,its good to see places and also know when people have some appreciation and background to the places.

    Nice video of London👍 I live here. I was born here. One of the best ways to see London is to just walk by the Thames, or the Thames Path as they call it. Also, take the river bus to Greenwich or Kew for a bit of greenery (and history). Great that you went to Borough market - lovely food especially at Xmas. Love the Tate Modern - well worth a visit. London has the best buskers👌. Looking forward to your next video from London

    You just missed the 'South Bank' area. If you'd carried on a little past Londo Bridge, you would have reached it. It has the National Theatre, National Film Theatre and the Queen Elizabeth Concert Hall. There is also usually plenty of free entertainment, good food and a book market. Just beyond it is one of the best markets in London, Borough Market. It's particularly renowned for it's many food stalls.

If you live close to London it's just something you avoid if you can but if you ever get the chance to drive through early on a Saturday or Sunday morning in the summer with no traffic you realise how much beauty and history is on your won doorstep.

So we'll go back, do some sight seeing , maybe St.P's this time and pick up another theatre show (42nd Street with Lulu was one of the best musicals I have ever seen). Tower of London visit is fab apart from the Crown Jewels which don't do a lot for me personally. Lots of glitter. Did't manage onto Tower Bridge so that was nice to see! You can use your 'wi-fi' bank card on the underground. Can't you use them on the buses too? Yes "tems" and "hind as in lined".

      Gabriel Traveler you spoke about the building to replace the one lost in the fire of 1666. That one, which still stands today, was completed in the early 1700s not in the sixteen hundreds.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  6 лет назад

      According to Wikipedia it was consecrated in 1697. Perhaps there was still construction going on for some time after that.

    • @maxmullen6337
      @maxmullen6337 6 лет назад

      Gabriel Traveler, according to Wikipedia the building was declared finished in 1711, though other refinements continued for some time after.
      I only raised the question because I remember reading that it was somewhat surprising that Christopher Wren was still alive to see the completion.
      However, the way things are going in Britain at the moment, I expect children will be taught that it was actually built in Somalia and stolen by the evil British.
      Have just seen a trailer of the new film about Mary Queen of Scots. Many of the queen’s courtiers are black. If you don’t know about her, I should tell you she was around in the fifteen hundreds. So nothing is too stupid to say now.
      Anyway. Britain and England are unrecognisable now. I would like the name of this country changed. It’s a shame to associate the grotesquely overcrowded, crime-infested hellhole that we have now to the green and pleasant land we used to have.

    Hey Gabriel. As usual wonderful video. Looks very good with the Sony. I just got a Gopro 7 Black. What editing software do you use? I looked at your Amazon shop but did not see any.

    About the phone boxes, the government wanted to get rid of them and spend over a million pounds removing them...but indeed as you said, they're a great tourist attraction :)
    Plus, they do look nice in the surrounds (and you can even visit the ministry of magic)

      Why did the government want to get rid of them? Please enlighten us.

      @@MsPinkwolf According to them, no one ever used them, they costed too much money to upkeep and a select few people kept breaking them and kept putting graffiti on them.
      Personally, I think that they are always a good backup in case mobile services collapse for whatever reason (because they are controlled by ground cables).

      That would be kind of a shame if they removed them since they're such an iconic part of London. But at this point they're probably used more as urinals and crash pads than as telephones.

      People used them for decades. It's only since the mobile phone became popular that they declined. And I'm pretty sure the government had nothing to do with them. They're part of British Telecom (phone company) who don't want to pay upkeep on something that's not bringing in money. (edit: oops. I'm one of those annoying people who just repeated what the last post said)

      In some rural areas they now have new uses like to house a defibrillator for emergencies or a mini shops (stores). some examples in the link www.countrylife.co.uk/out-and-about/creative-uses-for-red-telephone-boxes-164288

    as a brit who lives nearish London I never really understood why people dislike it as a whole. I mean there are so many different parts of London, thats drastically different from each other. How can you dislike a place thats got so many different places to it? I mean sure, there are some areas and aspects of London I dislike but dislike the whole city? mmm

    Where will u go next Gabe? I'm from UK I am going to Lisbon tomorrow then onto Brazil (rio, beach towns, El Salvador)/ Argentina/ Chilie..) i have travelled Colombia and India alone as a female and many more, I like any place which is totally chaos magic.. I admire ur strength to keep going. Btw most of UK which is good vibes.. I didn't check out where u went yet, but im guessing most people don't find the best places unless they plan it, so In Scotland you have Isle of Skye, this is very interesting and perfect to tour, its like fairy land all grass hills hardly any roads, many US ppl visit, expensive food and stuff there accom u can find cheap, buses more expensive but u can hike, then u have the other islands Stornoway thats just amazing. Where i'm from In Yorkshire you have York which i'm guessing u visited and Lake District which is just amazing and further up near Carlisle, then future down South you have all of Cornwall thats a dream, then u have Scilly Isles which are all off the Cornwall coast, loads of Islands a bit mythical how u can take a boat to all these little islands, some of the islands are posh, its all pretty expensive and blaazay, these are far better than main cities such as London and Edinburgh. =)
