Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
This Is Why You Should Travel To ICELAND
The hostel I was staying at, which I showed at the beginning of the video was the Reykjavik City HI Hostel. I recommend reserving it online using this website: www.booking.com/index.html?aid=1724899 Or you can use that site to search for other hotels, apartments, hostels, etc.
Gabe sacrificing himself and getting wet to show us the back of the waterfall! You gotta love this man!
Yeah🥺
I'm toasty warm in bed watching you in Iceland! I would love to travel there some day so I'm enjoying your great videos, Gabriel!
he is at the time many wudnt except ballsier men . . . .
Hello Aleta
That waterfall was SERIOUS! Good stuff.
You r awesome brother I too wanna go iceland but it's expensive.. I like the cold... Love u brother
Gabriel I won't tell you a lie ... I can't imagine going to Iceland in the winter time.
I think you are quite brave to venture to places, whose climates are quite cold, in that season.
Oh, and I must say that Iceland's winter temps., right now, mirror what Seattle's are, too!
We are here in the upper 40's to lower 50's for daily highs, which is rather mild for us, for this time of year.
OOPsy Daisy, I can drive Myself crazy! The wind makes it feel colder.
@Rylan Ritts Interesting to know of this. I thank you!
I love it = looks like a scene from Prometheus.
Love how you document your experiences where the detail really matters ❤️
What a beautiful place! Dark, foggy and cold! I hope to visit this heaven one day!
Fantastic journey over the past 4 months Gabriel, very well done. My thanks & best wishes sent.
Enjoyed watching the four and a half months adventure.
You have by far one of the most interesting, unique and informative travel channels here. I’ve been subscribed for one year now and these videos still never cease to amaze me. I’ve put many countries that I never imagined visiting on my bucket list because of you. Thank you for these videos, I look forward to them. Keep it up! 👍🏽
I went to iceland in September and campervaned around the whole country. Was the best vacation I have ever taken ❤️ 🇮🇸
That's definitely the best way to do it.
Awesome! Which van company did you use, and did you get all the crazy ash and tire insurance they sell? Cheers from MT.
@@MrDNKYMN www.rent.is/
@@MrDNKYMN we did get all coverage just because of the stories we read from other ppl. This was stories for most car rental companies, better safe then sorry 😊.
@@Sauciers Thank you!! Cheers.
Oh my gosh! Still dark till 11 am, how strange! Weird, yet interesting. The whole country is interesting...you're the best, Gabe.
The waterfall was the best part! Gabe love how you just threw yourself in the thick of it just for us :D
Damn the weather.....i just love it......grey skies , quite, isolated with only 1 lakh pop.....and most importantly personal space where people will only talk to u when they need, will only ask u according to their needs......i love to live isolated....it feels gr8.....looking forward to visit iceland or tge Scandinavia
I love Iceland. I was vacationing there 4 weeks before your video! And I must say, was fortunate enough to visit all the places shown here. If the opportunity arises for a return visit, I most definitely will! One last comment; I too traveled solo. Which sometimes raises eyebrows b/c I'm female. Follow your heart 💓
Love your videos. Brings back great memories.
I went to Iceland last February. It snowed the whole time. I absolutely loved it. I’m from the Midwest so I’m used to cold, wind and snow.
I didn’t need to buy winter clothes or boots. Just wore what I owned. 🤣
Fingers crossed going back next August. I want to see what it’s like in the “summer”
I love your videos! You really helped me prepare for a trip to Guatemala a few years back. Keep it up!
Excellent, glad to hear it.
Wow, those waterfalls were impressive, almost made me feel cold and wet behind my screen ! Great 4 past months, thanks for making me travel to all those great places, your videos always light my days 👍😊.
NICE TRAVELS. YOU ARE SO FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO TRAVEL LIKE YOU DO AND WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT YOU LIKE TO SHARE IT WITH US. THANK YOU GABRIEL.
Good morning. 3:40 WOW!!! Definitely Iceland is a destination for nature lovers!
Fantastic place, I like that its dark like that...
When I was in Iceland at Skogafoss you could walk right up to the waterfall almost. So yeah it's definitely pushing more water than it did when I was there!
amazed at how mild it is - like here on the south west coast of canada, chilliwack, same temp but that delay in sun rise is something - really like the time date temp info in writing in the vid - good job
Looking forward to your next adventures and travels
I'm glad you don't get sick on your travels. Getting soaked at the waterfall in the cold without a change of dry clothes would have had me laid up for a week with the flu ... : )
Actually I'm sick, lol. Not because of getting wet that day though. Something hit me out of the blue a couple days ago. It's not too bad though, hopefully it doesn't last long.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I'm sorry that my post jinxed you! At least you can chill and recover in Willits instead of having to quickly move on to the next place. Happy 2019 btw
Beautiful waterfall! Thanks Gabriel! 😊❤ stay safe and warm 😊
Great video! Thx Gabriel for taking us along on this awesome 4-1/2 month journey!
I remember watching your “how expensive is Iceland?” video before going there in November 2017. It was way colder and all covered in snow. I even stayed at the same hostel in Reykjavik, but in the camper area. Good times.
Sure is a bizarre sight. volcanic and primodial.thanks for sharing the videos. All the best 🌋
Iceland is my top country I've visited so far! I don't know why, but the best memories I have about the countries that I visited, are the landscapes, rather than historical buildings etc..
The glacier was amazing!!
Oh my god that intro was so awesome. Epic!
Loved this video. Iceland is my idea of paradise. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Gabriel for sharing your videos it has been a blessing to travel with you to different parts of the world. God bless P.S. welcome back to the States
That's a lot warmer than I'd expect there though.
is beautiful country but is very very expensive and cold I don't take so I came visit Iceland 🇮🇸 Gabriel. thanks for the videos and good luck
amazing!
Wow such an adventure thank you stay warm
Hey Mr Gabe 😊 cool vid dude but ....... I think you’ll love New Zealand ( & Australia) !!! it has beaches , glaciers, mountains , cool cities to walk around and heaps of walking trails & for the fraction of the price of what you pay in Iceland😱 I lived in New Zealand for 6 months ( 3 years in Australia) and travelled quite extensively and the Fox Glacier in the South Island was absolutely stunning Cool 🤙🏼 Australia is massive and a flight alone from Perth to Sydney is 5 hours long 😬 the train from Perth to Sydney is about 48 hours and boasts the longest straight section of railway ( in the world) that does move in any direction , for 478 kilometres 😱you’ll probably need a good half a year to explore New Zealand & Australia ( Australasia ) because there is so much to see and do 🤙🏼 an idea for your next trip 🙄🤗 take care Gabe ✌🏼
Yeah I totally hear you on that, I definitely want to get down under to explore. I think the way to do it would be to buy an old car, drive around and then sell it at the end of your trip. Like you say do it for a good six months or so.
Watching dis video...i feel so blessed to b born in incredible india where weather is quite moderate nd favourable😑
Wow, I enjoyed this, lots of mood in Iceland this time of year. Thanks, Gabriel, I’ve been with you since the Greek Islands, I’ve had quite the experience getting to learn these beautiful parts of the world, you’re a great tour guide ... I like your laid back nature and the respect and kindness you show to your fellow mankind. You’re good people. Safe travels back “home” or where you take a breather in between tours. I can’t wait for what’s next...meanwhile I’ll be watching all your other travel videos I haven’t gotten to 👍 Peace, take good care, Vermont
Vermont, nice, I'd love to visit there sometime.
We’ve been there last month. I loved Skogafoss. We have a nice photo and video of the falls.
Yay, he's baaaaaa-aaaack! .....
Everything looks freezing. Thanks for posting
Thank you for sharing your amazing journeys. Susan :)
6:40 that one is amazing, too bad you couldn't get any closer.
Great video as always
Ooo man, what an outdoor shower is this waterfall :)
So sad that Iceland is to expensive, especially for Easter Europeans like me.
Wow nice place for adventure ! and close to nature.
I will always appreciate ur efforts n work loves for u man very nice video n informative too specially the weather there is a gift of nature
Thanks a lot.
amazing narration and tour of iceland . thank you
Another great video Gabriel..the beach that you were running on reminds me of the beach in Oregon.
Amazing! We were there in September which is, of course, the end of summer.. I won't say it was easy to walk behind Seljalandsfoss then...got pretty wet, but not nearly as much water as in winter....duh! Thanks!!
Wowww Iceland is INTENSE! It's crazy how when we were young nobody ever heard of visiting Iceland.. and now it's the hot spot! Well, the cold spot :)
Yeah I think it's getting a lot of interest because it's something so different. Plus those cheap flights on Wow Airlines. I plan to go back for a third time at some point and see more of the country, do a proper road trip in summer and go camping. I think that would be the best way to experience the country.
Can't wait to visit one day, not as cold as I thought in winter...pretty toasty for me (home being Chicago). Happy travel☺
I have just returned home (UK) from Iceland, you just missed a blanket covering of snow!
Those waterfalls are now frozen and the temperatures hitting -13C.
If you get a chance to return I recommend Efstidular Farmhotel as a stop off, excellent family ran establishment that uses their own cows milk for the most delicious ice cream in Iceland!
Wish I'd seen that, must be beautiful.
Thanks for the video, interesting country 👍
Too good. Looking for more amazing video
I took the same tour to vik in october it was beautiful i have wonderful pictures on my instagram totally exotic views. It a must do in iceland
I'm going there this March.
Hello... Gabriel... Compliment for this video... You have done a excellent job... Many thanks... Top.. No words... Super
great trip
Gabriel you have to go back and rent a car next time! I went around the ring road in September you can eat cheap by buying groceries. Much more enjoyable to go other places tours don't and to go on your own time. Definitely not cheap, but Iceland is unique enough I think its worth it to do it at least once.
Also the other areas that aren't as frequented by tourists are incredible.
Yeah next time I'll do a longer trip there and plan to rent a car, drive all the way around the country and camp, something like that.
Your living life, Great videos.
Well done.
Love the intro! Just so you know....I watched all your commercials ;-) I think you need to warm up in Mexico soon...or India in March 😆
Mexico sounds perfect right about now.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos if you are visiting Mexico do visit Monterrey and upload some videos from there
Nice video! Iceland is paradise :)
Currently stuck in Mississippi and it was 38 Fahrenheit last nite, and I'm complaining! Prefer to be elsewhere REGARDLESS of the cold!! Hence, watching YOU!!
Wow, how bizarre that it's warmer in Iceland than in Mississippi, eh? Stay warm.
I’m going there next month. Any advise if I could bring some sausages since food is so expensive there,
Reminds me of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song. Epic journey!🐱
great show , thanks Gabriel , I think the best think about Island is the fact that it is not a mandatory requirement for any traveler to visit this extremely expensive island , I will rather spend my dollars in zillion other wonderful places
I've been studying old Norse mythology/history. I'm jealous lol. It's such a gorgeous country
My boss traveled to Iceland last year and he loved it, but he told me it was dark almost the whole time.
Just depends on when you go. In summer it's light the whole time. :)
Hi Gabriel, Somehow I pictured Iceland as a more frosty and cold climate. The tour guide talked about global warming when referring to the glacier and its effects on Iceland he didn't say if this is human interaction or a natural progression but it does show the world is warming gradually I'm sure our massive use of gas and destruction of trees really doesn't help this situation. All this contributes to CO 2 emissions and global warming.
10/11 the most expensive grocery shop in Iceland.
Wow!!
$25 for a Pair of SOCKS!!!! Damn they better be made of GOLD for that price!!!. Place looks dull and Gloomy but I guess it is Winter after all.. The Waterfall looks awesome though and included in the Tour is a FREE WASH... That Ocean looks really violent, can't imagine anyone going in that for a swim... Safe Travels Gabe. *Greg*
The good news is that in the Reykjavik airport I found a shop where I bought 7 pairs of good socks for $20.
Yes... that's a far better price... Have a safe flight back to the States.. if you haven't got there already. Looking forward to the videos from the US.. :)
Gabe, why didn’t you sit under that waterfall to meditate? 😂
saint seiya style !!!
Thanks for a wonderful 4 months Gabriel, its certainly been an insightful and eye opening adventure and one in which I was happy to share with you, and in particular your travels to the Greek Islands
Any chance you'll have Australia(my home country) or Taiwan on your places to do in 2019?
Both are absolutely on the travel list, we'll see when I get there. Thanks for watching the adventures.
Iceland didn't look like my cup of tea the local guy that told you about the ice field seemed friendly but the landscape wasn't appealing to me
Any plans to go to Svalbard next time? summers are very nice over there.
Looks a bleak old place; not for me. Thanks for taking us along on your travels. I really enjoy your vlogs, thanks. I look for more of your adventures.
Would you ever consider doing travel itineraries?
So roughly 4 to 5 hours of daylight in Iceland during the winter months........Couldn't do it !!!
Iceland just looks cold, wet and gloomy. Not sure I would travel there. Think the blue lagoon is the only worth while place to see while there lol
Watching from my hotel in Cartagena, Colombia. Looks cold. I'd still love to visit Iceland though, maybe ill schedule an extended layover on a Wow air flight on my way to Europe sometime.
Nice, enjoy Cartagena. I remember it was super hot and humid there. Sounds nice about now.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Very hot, very humid. But a nice break from the midwestern winter. Medellin is my favorite Colombian city, but I needed a beach for a few days.
one would think iceland is full of ice and snow in january
You must be the only dude in Europe wearing jeans at this time
I would much prefer a summer trip around the Isle of Wight off the coast of Southern England. Smaller than Iceland, same layout geographically. Great place and worth a visit at some point!
Hmm, no swimming in Iceland`s famous hot spots? Iceland is called the Swimmers Paradise...Yes, foss is a waterfall also in Norwegian. If you want to see the most stunning nature you have to come to Norway but during summer or early fall and some money, you have to save for sure. You already said it once yourself, more North you go in Europe more expensive it becomes.
Wow nice
Gabriel, take the ferry to Staten Island, New York it's free lol.
great video Gabriel i love Iceland i am saving money to travel there
Mike CG, save all your money! I’ve been twice, and I love it! Especially the people!
@@Nubianette maybe next year traveling to Iceland is one of my dreams 🙂
Mike CG make a plan, and price everything out. Small tours are great! They cost more, but it’s a great experience with a local person. People who go out on their own, I think they miss context. The price varies, but I’ve enjoyed my stays at Kex Hostel. I’ve done the dorm and I’ve had a private room. They often have free live music, a bar and restaurant. On the lower end of pricy. They also have a kitchen, so you can cook. Check out Iceland Airwaves. It’s awesome (I hate that word, but it really is)! People are 25-60 on average. All people who love music. See, this video has me wanting to go back, so bad!
@@Nubianette thank You very much for the information 😀
By the way Gabriel did you see any Northern Lights when you were in Iceland 🇮🇸? And have you ever seen them?
I never saw them in Iceland, but I've seen them in Alaska. Here's a video: ruclips.net/video/Fj0r9PG5dO8/видео.html However I saw much more impressive ones when I was living there more than 20 years ago.
I'm glad you enjoyed your Iceland visit. As for me, your video is as close as I want to get to Iceland-not my cup of tea.
A suggestion: instead of the same topics such as: How expensive is ... This city is Amazing; This city is incredible; This is why you should travel....: Can those be revised with new clips such as Would you travel to ...? Beautiful city .... xxxx vibrant and alive!; How much do things cost in ..... I think this gives a bit of variety instead of the same old
Hey Gabriel that's quite a brave place to go into Iceland; loved that blue lagoon and a great place to relax with beer or too. Love those mountains and water quite espectacular there ✌🤙
Hi Gabriel, Big fan of you! I am from India... I watched all of your videos... I like these dark lights... Which month had you been there?
Thanks Naveen. This was in January.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Thank You Gabriel, Keep posting videos... Be safe from COVID-19.
Thanks for getting soaked for us, great video though
