They delayed because the southern district of NY’s office dumped a whole bunch of additional documents on both the Manhattan DA’s office (the prosecutors) and Trump’s defense team. These are records that the Manhattan DA’s office requested from them LAST YEAR to no avail, and apparently Trump’s team asked for them themselves this past January and they just got them last week or so. Now both sides need a few weeks to go through them and see if there’s anything that’ll help their cases.
