Girl I cut open my products too. I work hard for my money so I’m gonna make sure it get its worth 😩😩. I think I need to invest in a box cutter specifically for my products atp.

100% we want to get our money's worth for sure! Every.last.drop 😂
Ooo I like the idea of a designated box cutter, I'm usually scrambling for random scissors at the time instead lol. And a little product scrapper while I'm at it!

@@AshkinsCurls Every last drop indeed! I actually broke a pair of scissors trying like a mad woman to cut open a product container. I also cut my hand so I think it's time to invest in that box cutter smh.

They really do - made my hair feel weird before, but I'm glad the things I'm using now are helping a lot and seem to work great. Healthy hair is the goal to recoup after whatever has my curls all crazy these almost 2 years, so I'll sprinkle those cones in lol. Thanks for watching boo!

My goal for this year is 200 too! I usually get close but I doubt I'll reach it this year. I'm pulling out and using up my older products too. Always love watching your empties!

Ooo 200 club✨! Same here, I usually get really close but not quite. I don’t think I’ll hit 200 this year, but happy to get some of the older stuff out of here : ) So glad you enjoy them, empties are so fun, thanks for watching love!☀️

Do you use. Miche. Adowa. Or Camille Rose. 😊

    • @AshkinsCurls

I’ve used all 3! The 2 Miche products I’ve tried (Moisturizing DC and Strengthening DC) I didn’t enjoy, but have high hopes for the other 2 in my stash and am really curious about their new Tropical Gel. I tried the 2 Adwoa DCs recently and didn’t love them but plan to try them again on super wet hair and a heating cap. And I LOVED a lot of products from Camille Rose, especially the Almond Jai Twisting Butter and Moisture Butter, need to revisit them soon. Thanks for watching!

You flew through this so efficiently! I’ve been using the bond salve by Curlsmith as a protein treatment. It’s marketed as a bond product, but it’s really just protein. I actually just used it yesterday to bring back my coils after SEEN products made my hair a little puffier/less defined than I’m used to. It’s usually 50% off during Ulta sales, and I see it in TJ Maxx and Marshalls all the time for $14.50ish.

Thank you! I can talk all day when it comes to products lol, but I'm trying to be a bit more efficient than in past videos 😂 Ooo that Curlsmith Bond Salve sounds good, we rarely get really nice stuff is our TJ/Marshalls but I'm going to check there and ULTA. Sounds really good, I've got puffiness/less definition going on right now. Thanks for sharing and for watching!

I tried K18 this summer after noticing that some of my hair was puffier/less defined than usual and experienced some breakage. I think it may have been related to hard water, because I hadn't changed my softener at home in awhile and had done some traveling to places with even harder water.
I purchased a mini kit from sephora that included minis of the detox shampoo, the k18 leave on treatment, the other maintenance shampoo and the rinse out conditioner.
The detox shampoo is recommended to use before the leave in treatment. I loved that shampoo and might repurchase to just have on hand as a clarifier. It had a light spa/citrus scent, contained charcoal (which my hair loves in shampoos), moved through my hair easily, effectively clarified but also left my hair feeling soft and naked.
The leave in treatment was interesting bc it's so tiny (ofc I had the mini but even the full size) I was trying to be pretty conservative with it but it's so hard to tell if you've applied enough or not. I saw a bunch of videos where people emphasized that you need to rub it in your hands to "activate"/emulsify it and it goes further, but I didn’t feel like it made a big difference in how far it stretched. It also sank into my hair easily (which I usually love to see as a low porosity haired person) but kinda felt like nothing on, so it was really hard to know where I did or did not effectively cover my hair. That said, I did get 2.5 uses out of the mini, but I was again being as minimal as possible. It did make my hair feel even softer and smooth, while being super lightweight on. After 4 mins you're supposed to proceed with styling. The first time I skipped leave in and just applied a light humectant heavy gel (curly magic) and twisted my hair up. My hair was good but a little on the dry side without the leave in. The next time I used it I waited the 4 mins then proceeded with a leave in and gel and liked that better.
The shampoo with the dark blue and white packaging was kind of odd. It's supposed to maintain the hair bc it contains the same peptide complex as the leave in treatment, just less. It had a really fluffy lather, but didn’t move through my hair as easily as the detox shampoo, and my hair after rinsing felt not stripped or clarified, clean but not 100% clean, but also felt hardened a little? Maybe I used it too close to having used the treatment. But I felt it was only okay overall. The rinse out from the dark blue line was really nice, and got rid of all the hardness from the shampoo. It felt kind of thick for a conventional rinse out, almost like a smooth marshmallow fluff. Moved through my hair easily but not alippery enough for deep detaingling. My hair felt wonderful after rinsing it out.
The conditioner lasted about 3 or 4 uses (the shampoos each lasted longer, like 7 uses).
I do feel like I wasnt totally sold immediately bc besides soft and shiny, I didn’t notice much immediately (not like when you use an elasticity/protein treatment). However, I did start to notice extra springiness in my ends and the puffiness/dryness/breakage I was noticing gradually went away after incorporating them for a month or so, and my hair returned to normal. The "damage" wasn't drastic enough for other people to notice and neither were the results, but I do feel like the line was effective (not a miracle, but did what I needed).
Overall: I plan to repurchase the detox shampoo in the full size during the sephora sale bc I'm out of clarifying shampoos and really liked that one.
I don’t feel like the leave -in treatment is something I'll keep on hand, but I also dont have much damage or regularly incur damage (like I don’t style with direct heat, color or perm my hair, etc.).
If I did feel like I had some damage to address, I'd likely repurchase it. But begrudgingly because $75+ for that lil thing?!
I think I'd skip the other shampoo. It probably is good for adding a lower dose of the active ingredient, but the rinse out would probably accomplish the same thing but was more pleasant to use.
So absolutely for the detox shampoo, likely for the leave-in treatment, no for the other shampoo, and maybe for the rinse out.

Unicurl was stealing natural hair content creators videos and displaying them on their platforms without permission. I wonder if that contributed to the closure/hiatus.

Oh wow, I've been out of the loop and hadn't heard about that. I mentioned my stuff with them on the channel a few years ago, but heard after that that there were family concerns and when I checked the website and socials last, they were gone. Although I'd checked periodically over the years, it felt pretty final this time.
      Thanks for watching love!
