Thanks Delmer! I learned a lot from Kevin's book. I never realized the amount of history and connection to the state of Colorado mining history had. I am enjoying all I am learning on my journey of gold prospecting is bringing me on and hope to keep sharing the interesting things I learn along the way.

Yeah I find it very interesting and odd someone would take something out of a river to smell or taste it, then put whatever it was in their pocket and walk away! YEPWELP!

Awesome! I dig at Taylor park mostly. My wife collects heart rocks. She probably has 300.

Thanks Johnny! I will have to check out Taylor park area I have not been there. I was surprised to find the heart shaped rock, for how many rocks I see out there I figure I would see more. That is awesome she has found that many must have a great eye for rock-hounding! I always find myself bringing home a pocket full of interesting rocks almost every time I go out.

Im curious why you dug in center of river rather than on bank? Im new at panning. Ty

I would of loved to have been able to access the northern bank of the river for more cobble area/flood area to dig. Sadly the water was too high for me to get across the river so I had to make due with the smaller cobble bar on the south side of that stretch of river. Also I didn't dig too close to the southern bank because there is a recreational path that runs along it and I need to make sure I stay far enough away so I wont cause any damage by undercutting/undermining the bank that holds the sidewalk up. It is important we keep distance from sidewalks/bridge structures and other man made structures so the parks continue to allow us to prospect there. Hope that helps a little to answer that question for you. Thanks so much for watching and all the comment Paul!
