    Klesh, great video as always! I've found that the simplest method for breaking up clay is to fill a bucket half way with dirt and then top it off with water. Put a watertight lid on it and vigorously shake/rock the bucket back and forth while it's one the ground. The clay and rocks grind against one another and leave a nice loose slurry. A bit of a trick when prospecting Nevada clay.

    Hey klesh good job nice vid so i have an idea about the clay and your sluice box just grab a tined rake take the handle off and place it accross right by the sluice drop riffles that way it can block big chunks from just rolling off and will give the water a bit more time to eat away athe clay and soften it or or give you time to shovel then grab the pieces that just sit there that way you dont have to classify just a friendly suggestion

    Hey Klesh! I know that place....My girfriend and I and faithful dog were there 2 winters ago...Most memorable moment....when my lady went back down to the bottom on our bike to get her shovel....dressed in black pants and a tan suede jacket....two hunters saw her and almost shot her, thinking she was an "ELK"!!!!!!! "You're dressed just like an Elk", they exclaimed....have a good one....Richard

    I have been watching some of your videos that I missed this summer because I was busy working. One thing I really like about your videos is that I can watch one and get so many tips on how to pan and how to look for gold. Have you every looked through some of your chunkier magnetic material to see if you have come across any pieces of meteorite?

  • @gabrial3377
    @gabrial3377 4 года назад

    Wish i had a longer bazooka. My small one is great as it fits in back pack etc. However, i blew a lot of gold out using it in Ohio on the Mohican river, Swank claim. I finally had to put my banjo pan with a dream mat in it below the end if the bazooka and found 17 nice flakes of gold that had blown out of the bazooka.
    My faith in it has kind of gone away. Now i will always be using another catch all with it! If it was a foot longer maybe?

    About 30years ago, a couple buddies and I went up above timberline there (on Lost Canyon Road) and reworked some tailings from the Lost Canyon placer (magnetite chunks 1" in diameter were very common, and they ran their water hard to keep them moving, and thus washed gold through); in one day we had 5gms of 'fines', a 1/4oz nugget with quartz, and one beautiful 1/2 oz nugget shaped like a peanut in the shell! Was a great day! But someone reactivated the claim, and was off-limits when I went back up a few years later. Good times, though!

    If one pans out enough gold, would it be possible to send it somewhere to have it turned into jewelry? I always thought it would be romantic to pan enough gold to make an engagement ring, because then the ring would be one of a kind and special, not just something you bought at the local jewelry store, you found all that gold. Might take a decade to pan that much gold though...

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  4 года назад

      while that might work, still wouldn't wanna add anything to the environment that's not already there. Besides, can't use powered equipment either. Oh well, back to using my hands or a potato masher or something!

      It's very hit or miss there, but usually HIT. It's actually pretty rare to not get gold in any pan from any given area, but it does happen. Better luck next time and thanks for watching!

    Hey man I have a quick question. Not nessasarily in this one, but I've noticed in a handful of your videos that you will have a almost subliminal flash of text in your videos. I cant read them and I dont have video editing on my computer. I was wondering what these were about. Your not the only channel that has flashes of something in the videos. Thanks

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  4 года назад +1

      Not subliminal, but I like to call them "treasures" that you can find and claim the cash if you have the patience, and knowledge on who to recover the funds! Of course I can't give away exactly what they are, but since you noticed them, you're on the right track!

      Yeah I know there's gold in Ohio (check out Flash in your Pan on RUclips), not sure the exact location though. Maybe not near cleveland, but for me to drive to this place it's about 2.5 hours one way to pan for gold.

      GPAA Swank West. Bellville Ohio. Fantastic access to the river, and we always found good gold. Digging or using the dredge.
      I think it would be two or three hours from Columbus. There is also rv camping there. The Swank East is more remote and tent only so maybe not as dug out. Also the GPAA just purchased another clAim on the East side bordering
      PA. Go for it! Nice people down there!

      Unfortunately out at Cache Creek, there is no powered equipment allowed. Even un-powered Wagons are not allowed, so my hands are the best tools available. I've even tried rocks to help smash it through my classifier, or thought of bringing a potato masher or something LOL no dice.

    when i was watching. i suddenly realised the best thing to do would of been to get as much as u could carry of that clay dry it out and crush it down to a fine powder then classify it. u might of got a larger yield of gold. i watch a programme called Aussie gold hunters on QUEST.....

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  4 года назад
