You are an amazing teacher Kate!! I love your method of teaching is so easy to understand and at the same time is so professional 👍🏻 Keep up the good work!!
Thank you! I am taking my E/M exam tomorrow and I am so confused! I have figured out that History is tripping me up. I am off by one level of care for most practice test questions! I am so glad that you showed this video where you were wrong. I hope I can learn by this as I am messing up too.
Are you going to do a video on E&M Examinations and Medical Decision Making? I'm confused bc it says CMS will not give an opinion on whether one method is more acceptable than the other (regarding the number of body systems or areas). Also, what is a basic system? (Table 7.4) Is this all on the exam? I hope not!
Also, Table 7.1 Decision-making process says at the bottom under "Tabulation of Medical Decision-Making Elements" to use the "Highest Two of Three." In all examples and videos I have seen, that is not the answer they choose. Please explain if you can!!!
Marlene Clark honestly, I Find E&M codes confusing so once I get a coding job I’ll have better resources to figure them out and then make more videos on the topic!!
I have an example where a patient comes in with tonsilitis and the example says she had a CT scan run and it confirmed the tonsilitis and what I'm trying to figure out if that CT scan was ordered by her current physician and thus would it be coded in the MDM section as a Radiology test? Or would that be an old test that the physician simply reviewed? Also, it said she was referred to ENT for additional review. What would that be coded as? I worked thru the entire electronic worksheet and got to what I thought would be the end of the E/M code and it simply asked "Previous" (meaning I can go back and correct mistakes) or "Start again?" Very frustrating.
Actually I believe the Review of Systems is more a subjective review of what the patient feels they are suffering from. This would be different than what the physician observes objectively in the physical exam.
Some of those descriptors of the chief complaint give me headaches because they are so vague or almost interchangable like what is the difference between Duration and Timing? Don't both kind of describe when or how often your symptoms occur?
I have never related more to a video in my life!! I finally feel like I'm not alone in my confusion! LOL

By chance can I get a copy of the 7.3 elements of history, I have never seen it laid out like that, and it makes a lot more sense that way
I am in my local community college and I totally wish I were going to school with you!

You are wrong. The physician must check these systems in the office visit!
@@christinehamann5816 What are you talking about? That IS the physical exam.

im glad to see someone struggling as much as i...lol if u figure out please share with me ... : )
If I figure it out, I will be making a video about it! Haven't gotten there yet..but one day I will find the secret to figuring out CPT!
