Hello from the west coast of Canada. In early 2023 I got a Bolt euv Lt1 -- which comes with the driver and comfort packages in Canada -- as a commuting tool only, and I liked it so much I sold five gas and diesel vehicles (the then-still-crazy used car market helped that decision). I wish the Bolt had a heat pump, but the lowest-priced Tesla 3 was $14,000 more at the time, and it wasn't worth it to me. The efficient, little Bolt is saving me so much money because gas here in Canada is expensive; reg gas here now is $6.25/us gal, and in the summer it was $7.50/gal. With home charging $0.1406/kwh here, driving the Bolt costs me 1/3 what it cost to put gas in my '19 Prius, which averaged a calculated 56 us mpg over 55K miles. Faster charging would be nice, but I hope the Bolt's slow charging helps the battery last longer with less degradation.
My euv was $42,000 out the door here, but in 2023 the average price of a new car in Canada was $66K plus tax.

Hello! Thanks for watching - and sharing your Bolt EUV story. Yes, as a commuter car the Bolt makes so much sense. I would agree with you that the slower fast charging rate may bring benefits in the long term in overall battery life. Have a great day in beautiful BC!

I picked up my Bolt EV a little over a month ago. I'm enjoying it so much. I'm not much of a road tripper so the charging speed isn't really an issue for me. By the way, this news is starting to break. GM and Ford ev owners will have access to all Tesla Super Chargers starting in February. Apparently Tesla will start selling adapters to GM and Ford owners. This is all preliminary so plans could change but this is what I have read. Having access to Tesla Super Chargers nationwide will be an absolute game changer. No more unreliable charging stations for us non Tesla owners lol. Gr8 vid as usual. 🚙 🇺🇸 🔌 🌩

So there are no greenhouse gases using a Bolt?

    • @4WardJourney

Hi - yes in terms of driving - the electric cars do not produce green house gases themselves. As mentioned in the video, there can be greenhouse gases produced by the underlying source of the electricity production for example coal, however, even if the electricity is produce by fossil fuel - the net result of using an electric car is less greenhouse gas than an internal combustion engine car.

So coal emits no green house gases

Great video guys. We spent the month of November in Florida, where I rented a Model 3 Tesla, you should see my review. We really missed our Bolt. The Bolt is way more comfortable and road noises are much less. Stay safe.

GM has a pattern of perfecting a vehicle then they stop selling it.

Good point - they say they are going to continue the Bolt on their new EV platform - hopefully that’s the case

It was only fairly recently that the 2025 Bolt was announced. Seems like a smart move, given how much people seem to like the 2023 model.

Thanks for watching - no I do the meal delivery as a volunteer for a charity organization - and while I suppose I could write off a small portion of the car cost I don’t
