You know that my great aunt is liam nessons assistant when he is in Northern Ireland
*hank you so mach fer waching me tacheing u irish slaging wif me Liam neeson*
Rebecca :3 - look at a map.
He's not even joking with 'wee' it's literally used in every sentence here. "I had a good wee night out" "I'm feeling a wee bit down today" "that wee 40ft man is tall" it makes no sense but for some reason it's just accepted.
I remember asking for a wee one (coffee) and they actually gave me a tiny one.. I was so upset 😂
There's your wee receipt there.
At a shop “just pop your wee card into the wee card machine, and enter your wee Pin, take your wee card out there, thank you and there’s your wee receipt.
mon the reds
Just a wee bit
My mum who is French came to NI in the 90s, she was confused for the longest time about "wee" thinking it was "oui"
That's actually the funniest thing ever, thank you for this.
Cloé M hahahahaha love it, that’s fantastic!!! I laughed my head off but it seems the French want to be polite hahahahaha!!! Thank you for sharing this wee comment 😂😂😂
Was it a wee wee? Qui!
omg i love that
Hilarious
“the craic was good”
ok jamie.
Hannah Vest was. It was good craic.
Just realised I say that all the time and now ik why it sounds a bit off
Hannah Vest what’s the craic
Myst Scazza why all you’re asking them really when used in proper context is what good times or fun they’ve been having lately nothing wrong with that my Irish cousins ask me this all the time ! Used as much as the word grand is tbh .
Mmmighty craic!
"Thank you so much for watching Northern Irish slang with me - Liam Neeson"
hahhaha
Alexander Skarsgaard AND Jamie Dornan? You're too good to us, Vanity Fair.
No that was liam neeson
Alexander Skarsgård is the best😍
(No, I’m not biased at all 🇸🇪😂)
Aika K I know! I’ve been waiting for both haha! I watched Alexander’s last week and then I quickly search for Jamie. Of course it wasn’t there haha, but know it is hehehehe.
Aika K Janes McAvoy too
@@iceeirony She James' sister?
I'm Scottish and it's funny because so many of the words he mentions are ones that we use here as well! For example, wee, jammie, steamin, eejit, faffin we use all the time in Scotland, and we say 'kegs' instead of kex, but omg, it's so similar!! But then i guess Scottish and Irish people are very much alike! x
Not surprising considering the whole "plantation of Ulster" with thousands of Scottish settlers so a lot of people in Northern Ireland have Scottish roots myself included.
Love reading Scottish tweets, always make me laugh 😂 so creative
We say so many of these in England as well, makes me happy :)
I’m welsh and I probably say Faffin about 100x a day 🙄😂 drives my friend nuts!
We say it in Australia too. Faffing about.
Sebastian Stan teaching us Romanian Slangs next, please!
Mădălina OMG YESSSSSS
Yaaas pls!
YEEEESSS
oh yess
Baaa,nu credeam ca si romanii il stiu pe Jamie, omg:))
"But you're just getting a normal sized bag"
*MIND. BLOWN.*
@jimmy stewart hahaha
"Thank you for watching Northern Irish slang with me....Liam Nesson." That about sums Jamie up
Reminded me of the time Jamie said the celebrity he gets most mistaken for is Eddie Murphy....that is Jamie's humor, which I love.
“Northern Ireland is know for basically..ME.” 🤣🤣
That was pretty bold! Mostly true though...also Snow Patrol.
Mike Campbell definitely bold! But hardly true...✌🏼
He forgot Van Morrison and Rory McIlroy but maybe he was just thinking of Actors...
Colin Morgan xoxo
sean doherty He was joking.
“Any more of this and there’ll be less of it” made me burst out laughing. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of my Irish Nan because that is something she always says.
Jessica Marshall what does that expression mean?
@@francescopezone1297 If you keep doing what you are currently doing, I will put a stop to it.
Something I should say to my husband when he’s telling the same stories I’ve heard for the last 30 years.. ^^
Try this newfie saying out for size. “What’s after happening now”? (It means...”What just happened”) Is there a point in it? No. Is it said constantly? Yes.
@@emilywhittle1420 That sounds surprisingly Irish
He looks more like a dad now
Still hawttt
@@jhl1858 he's also daddy
he is a dad
He is a dad expecting his third child with his wife, Amelia. 💚
@@monsterhanna6691 yes I know that's why I made this comment thanks
Loads of these are used all over the UK, but how sweet is Jamie don’t think I’ve ever seen him smile that much
Jamie is so soft I love him
RAINFOREST MINTS have you seen him in “The Fall”?
@Niso Stannard how would you know you haven't touched them all
Do people just think we’re leprechauns with the music in the background an all 😂
Yes, gotta have it!
Since this segment started I've been looking forward to Jamie showing up.
Was engaged to a Northern Irish fella once & he said almost all of them! Some were new but... either way, their accent makes me weak in the knees, gah!
😍😍😍😍😍
So why'd you leave him?
Well - I think time & distance took it's toll on us... :( He'll always be the one that got away.
@@jessicaking2303 Oh noo! That breaks my heart 😥💔. Maybe you should try and find him. See if he's still single?
@@Flowergirlfairy I have found him online, but he's moved on... New fiancée & 2 little girls now. It feels like a lifetime ago. But - maybe some day we'll cross paths again. That was my soul mate, for sure.
@@jessicaking2303 Aww I'm sorry to hear he's moved on. But you're right, if it's meant to be, it'll happen. Until then, you deserve to be happy too 😊.
Anyone else thinking that he would have been sooooo much sexier as Mr Grey if he used his Irish accent? xx
lindiloos the force is strong with an Irish brogue. In a good way 😉
Certainly NOT the Belfast accent.
Try watching “The Fall” you’re welcome.
No
Idiot it’s not an irish accent
I love Jamie Dornan!!! I could listen to him talk for days!!
Happy Belated Birthday Jamie. You are so much fun! Enjoy life.
As a Northern Irish person myself, I had no need to watch this but it was worth it for Jamie 😍😂
Please do one with Tom Hiddleston about Shakespearean slang !!! This is gonna be awesome !!! 🤯 And I love those videos keep going 😉
terrible idea, no one uses that anymore
yess do this
YES YES YES YES
In my opinion, this series is about learning the common slang of the common people around the world, to have an episode just for shakespearean slang for tom would be missing the whole point
@@forgetfulstranger well they did one on Broadway slang so
I’m Northern Irish and it’s so weird to hear someone on screen with my accent 😂
same Northern Irish here as well
Both of you are Irish
@@bens6n168 northern irish
I'm Norn Iron aswell....BOUT YE !
I’ve been to “Norn Iron” twice! It’s so beautiful and the accents the best!
I love the crac and class saying the best :D
That's class mate
Drop ‘norn’😖
Es un hombre maravilloso, saludos de parte de todas sus fans latinas 😘.
A lot of these words are used here in England too! Love it.
I could listen to him talk all day
AND Bronagh Waugh, loved her in The Fall. I’m vacationing there next year, better study up!
Okay my last name is Branagh and I thought you just said my name so I had to do a double take
As a Scouser, I didn’t realise how many of these ‘Irishisms’ I actually use. Great video.
I’m Scouse with both grandparents being Scottish and Irish, I always use words such as craic, eejit and wee lmao
"Eejit" is actually a word I heard in my family a lot but nowhere else in America as far as I heard, so I always thought it was just a funny word my dad liked using but then I watched all these kinds of videos and suddenly it makes so much sense!
My husband is Northern Irish and I can definitely say that I have heard him use almost all of these phrases/words! ha ha ha
I NEED Cillian Murphy to do one of these!!!
YES!
Why is he so adorable yet so freaking hot
I love Jamie so much he is hands down one of the best and my favorite actor.
The music played in the background is soo nostalgic
AMO. AMO. AMO. AMO. AAAAAAMO 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Jamie siempre me saca sonrisas. Lo adoro. Gracias Vanity Fair por hacer esto.
Helpful when rewatching Derry Girls 😆
He’s so warm and cuddly...looking...I don’t know! 😍
This is really good! Love it!
I love Northern Ireland 😍 it’s beautiful and people are lovely!
Maddie Wes aw this is so kind!!❤️
Swoons over anything that comes out of Jamie’s mouth. 🖤
thanks needed this
IT'S THE ONE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!
Love his voice and accent.
Did he say at the end... with me.. Liam Neeson!? 😂😂😂😂😂
I L i heard that too! 😂😂
He did
Love the way he says "cool"!
Jamie is such a nice man 🤗... He is funny 😂.. always friendly and his talents are endless 🎬🏌️👔🎤......He is the best 😊👍 Thanks Jamie ... we love you very much 😍......and Liam Neeson🤣🤣
My American wife couldn't stop laughing at the "wee" when I took her to Belfast. We went to pay for something in a shop and the girl said, "Do you want that in a wee bag?", and then said, "Just swipe yer wee card there". Priceless.
It sounds very like scottish, I knew most, like dead on that's a good one, and jamie you are a honey xx
He could be a great Magneto when Michael Fassbender finishes that role in Dark Phoenix.
A few of these are also used in England and other places in the UK as well
Basically my vocabulary in a three minute video☘️
Aww he's adorable ☺️😍
Very informative.
He is such a sweetheart. Omg
*Please do Viggo Mortensen and Danish slang next.*
now this is a good idea
I fully support this.
I want Viggo Mortensen doing Argentinian slang!! That would be epic!
Pretty sure Viggo wouldn't know any danish slang
Mads Mikkelsen with Danish slang
OMG HE IS SO CUTE I'M DYING
And a hueen of other things too Jamie😄
“Would you hurry up and take your time” is another good one.
This is so great!!!
Just watched the one with Gerard Butler yesterday and hope there will be one with Jamie Dornan. Never been able to say until now that “my prayers have been answered” LOL. Such a cute guy and a great sport Jamie is.
I would love to see him in Robin Hood Origins and in A Private War.
I've only ever heard "out on the pull" around Newcastle
I’m gonna hand this yoke back now. Sweet😊
OMG His accent 😍😍
For part two Jamie: your head's a marley, wise up, ack away on Sammy, catch yourself on, scunderred, all jokin' aside...
I love his humility at the start! ha ha ha...
Wee, craic, Jammie, steamin and pull all words I’ve used as a scot 🏴 would love to visit N. Ireland one day
I’m Scottish, but my family is Northern Irish and so both they and I use a lot of these expressions!
Holy crap he is ADORABLE with the Irish accent.
He's Northern Irish Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and a different country to Ireland 🙄
@@PS-ru2ov well then he's so adorable with the Northern Irish accent. 😁
@MacFhlannacuidh aye whatever troll
@@PS-ru2ov That's debatable...
@@PS-ru2ov The accent existed before the border dumbass. It is still an Irish accent, no matter how much ye Brits want to steal it.
😍 flipping love this man
Love this man. What a charmer.
He can craic me up! 🔥🔥🔥
I love how in Northern Ireland when someone is talking to you about someone else, they're either yours or ours. Just like Jamie said several times "your man"
or for example it could be a particular person - "Your David" and "Our David". Is like they claim people and I love it :)
That's all over Ireland really
Our wee island 💚
the background music makes this all a million times better
He needs to be in a comedy!!!
totally, great idea! now get someone to do it
"I'm gonna have a wee cuppa tea"
Even though you're having a normal sized cuppa tea
TRUE THOUGH XD
0:56 good save 😅 😂
oh my, I love the Irish accent. I have noticed that when they say a t at the end of a word, it's softened as if it's followed by an expelling of air
I have a character who is Irish- but I’m American- and I cannot tell you how helpful this was to me..
When will you Americans get into your thick heads Northern Ireland and Ireland are two different countries?
Brilliant Jamie, i'm homesick now!!!
Боже,какой же он красавчик и нереально крутейший человек)))Побольше тебе ролей )
When Jamie referred to that bag he had to cover his package with he referred to it as a wee bag😂😂😂
dornan.dakjohnson I thought of that too. 😂
YES!!! As soon as I saw Wee come up I started laughing thinking about that interview. 😂😂😂
A lot of these are used in Scotland as well
it's cos the majority of northern Irish slang is Ulster-Scots
He makes me so happy
Jamie is the best. Love Jamie
And George Best!! Don't forget the Belfast Boy...
Cant believe they didn't include another phrase we use which is "Sling yer hook" basically meaning get out of here or move along 😂 I think its a good one.
Truth to be said most od it is commonly used in eire also. Lived there for 12 years and heard most of it on a daily basis
Happy birthday,Jamie!
When he said "wee", I just instantly remembered him talking about his "wee bag" for Fifty Shades. 😂
I'm a Geordie and I didn't realise how much we have in common with northern Irish and Scottish with the slang terms and phrases haha! Canny!
Canny deal
I love him so much 😭😍♥️
Epic wee video ❤
I am Northern Irish and I am so happy I found this
I LOVE JAMIE 😂😂😍😍😍
