Finally a cart that was actually made from scrap wood , Thanks !

I can now follow my signature with the capital letters: DOSWCS (doctorate of scrap wood cart storage) for all the videos I've watched. This one hit the nail on the head for me. Thx!

I’ve watched a lot of videos on lumber storage carts, and I really like this one. Conserves lumber, lightweight, but still strong, and good visibility for what’s inside. Very well thought out! 👍

The addition of those pieces on the plywood side is very smart. I wouldn't have thought of that. I'm building one of these tomorrow and I'm going to steal your idea. Thanks for posting the video.

I too have watched a ton of videos on storage carts. I like this one the best because it is not 8' long and 4' high. Full sheets of plywood can stick out and do not require a full cart. Further, the ability to move sheets forward with the removable 2x4's is ingenious. Wire mesh is also killer.

Thanks for the plans and the video. This is exactly what I need and the wire mesh and stake pockets were a stroke of genius.

Every winter I bring wood home from work and by the time I get home it’s dark. So it just gets thrown where ever I can find a spot. Every spring I have to sort it all out. That’s what I was doing all day yesterday, or at least I was trying. This video just happened to pop up this morning (spooky how that happens eh?). There is so much wood there that I was struggling to find anywhere to put it. So I’ll build this cart which will use up some of the wood and give me somewhere to store the rest. Happy days 😀.

I have watched a ton of videos to get ideas for a cart... this is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to go minimalist on the wood to reduce weight, and you 'nailed' it... and great video as well! Keep it up!

I had JUST finished a sketchup design for a lumber cart when I came across your video. I hated the fact that my design required so much wood (2 sheets of 3/4" ply + 1/2 sheet of 1/2" ply + several 2x4s and a couple of 2x6s). This design is much better! I'll make mine a little deeper to provide more space for longer boards in the center, but I'll be using these techniques. Many thanks for the excellent design!

The trailer stakes are brilliant. Watching your vid, designing my own, realized I need some vert support structure to do exactly what you described later - hold plywood while pulling plywood out of the back. Great job!

I was part way through building a similar cart, when I came across yours. It has so many awesome, simple ideas that I immediately abandoned the much bulkier one I had planned and adopted yours. I'm making it 30" x 72" instead (because my base was already done), but am making the upper part similar to yours. Thanks for some great ideas!

This is a great design! Clever idea for screwing from the bottom board. This is the first time I have seen the use of wire mesh and I love it! I have the same problem as you. I save most of the cut-offs I have from a project and their small pieces are currently in a bucket. But I think I'll just add some wire mesh when I make my rolling storage cart. I like that I'll be able to see what is in that area without having to remove everything, and I will add on a smaller version of an organizer to one end for all of my scrap metal and threaded rod assortment I have. And the trailer upright brackets, genius! One of the reasons I've been hesitant to make a cart is that I'm alone and do not want to call a friend to just hold boards out of the way so I can get at a board in the back of the pile. Keep up the great ideas!! PS: love the little shop elf I saw in the beginning. I bet you make her sweep the shop, lol.

@@AllTheHobbies I see so many of the designs of others that can hardly be moved because they're so heavy ! And I'm not one to hoard tons of lumber! This design really is the best I've seen so far ! Although I'm not going to forget to leave out that other shelf ! And I think I'm going to put down something slippery below where the plywood sets to aid in sliding the plywood on and off.

Well, after designing one from watching another video, I saw Tamar's video and was going to modify my plan. Then I saw yours, and now we have a new front-runner. :)
Good work. I'll need to order some wire mesh but I'll save money on plywood, and I'll have the benefit of being able to see what's in the box. 👍
