We're back with another Audi RS showdown! Mat's back in the trusty RS4, a favourite of his from when he had one as a long term car back in 2018, and he's lining up against the all-new RSQ8 & Audi RSQ3 Sportback! The range-topping RSQ8 may pump out the most power thanks to its huge 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, but when you consider it weighs more than 500kg compared to the RS4, does it stand a chance in this showdown? There's only one way to find out... LET'S RACE!

He's great guys, f90 m5s did have an issue sometimes with launch. Mat has said so himself. Apparently this rsq8 may have a similar issue or just the tyres weren't actually warm enough and the car was just being a protective audi..

Hey Mat. Yeah, the RSQ8 launching is a lottery. It bugs down 2 of 3 times. I don't know why that happens. It's so irritating. But when it launches properly, you fly from standing. There is NO way the RS4 is quicker than the RSQ8 on a proper launch. We've tested them several times and with VBox got 11.85 on a quarter mile as best. But yeah, that RSQ8 launch is so weird.
P.S. You know that it's not Audis fault about the soft-limiter huh? It's the freaking EU-Emissions that forces them to do it, and so will other manufacturers soon. Cheers
APR or some other remapper will find a bypass for it soon enough 😬

Interesting though, that the recent (sporty) BMW and Mercedes models don't have a soft limiter ...

@@Mondballer_00 They do. All 2020 will have the soft limiter. All AMG and M and others.

Don’t blame Audi for Europe’s epa regulations. We all know these same engines sounded much better even with the soft limiter just a few years ago.
Mercedes is also from Baden Würtemberg and doesnt care about those regulations. 7k Rews in neutral is possible. :)

No it is not EU the one who ruined it. Lets take Ferrari and Lamborghini for an example they sound insanely loud as before.

@@jordanbozukov9456 no one knows why but for some reason lambo's and ferrari's are not forced to install a certain type of exhaust filter (of what i can't remember the name of). Its part of the EURO 6 regulations.

Didn't the RS6 suffer from the same bogging down , these new RS models seem almost intentionally held back so as not to step on Porsches toes.

Good video. I think it would've been more evenly matched across all 3 (in the drag and rolling races) if the RS3 rather than the RSQ3 had been used - same engine but a good bit lighter.
