Dan Explains It All - Haunt Fuzz

- Here we go. Dan is making his way through Explaining the entire OBNE line, so let's start with Haunt. Brady is playing a Dunable R2 through the Haunt Fuzz and a Fender Bassman head and cabinet.
The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Haunt is a gated fuzz that is capable of a wide array of fuzz sounds. From the restrained and nuanced light fuzziness to granular and biting saw sounds, many textures and character traits can be summoned with the Volume, Gate, Fuzz, Mix and Tone knob controls. The Haunt also has two toggle switches; Range and Low. Range sets the range of the Fuzz knob, with lower gain to the left and higher gain to the right. To the left, the Low toggle attenuates the low end, to the right it lets full low end in. You’ll notice a volume boost to the right as a result of the new frequencies being let in, and a new interaction with the Gate, Fuzz, and overall sound of the Haunt.
9VDC - 2.1mm negative center pin adapter.
22 mA draw.
Haunt is available now at oldbloodnoise.com and at retailers worldwide.
The art of the Haunt is thanks all to Daniel Danger.

I love to watch these “Dan Explains It All“-Videos. 😍
Dan is great in explaining the details with his special humour. Great 👍👍
You guys have really great demos!
Reminds me of a cool Millhouse. Great job, these explainers are really nice.
More like Thrillhouse
I mean, this video did it for me. I was on the fence but this was perfect. Thanks, Dan!
that is awesome
My favorite part about Old Blood stuff is how SMART everything is. Lots of pedalmakers do cool sounds but there's always some dealbreaker detail that somebody just didn't think about. For instance, there are so many great fuzzes out there that are useless for bass because there's no clean blend. Haunt's got it though. Another example: Signal Blender can do latched OR momentary switching, which makes it hella useful for my particular case. Everytime I think "That pedal is a great idea but I really need x", Old Blood always has that covered.
thank you Ben, that's really great to hear
Love it very creative video and the pedal sounds stunning.
I am techno producer which just bought a guitar in order to make some sweet black metal noises - this will come in handy. You never fail to make stuff useful to me, no matter how weird I get
Clarissa has really changed a lot since the 90's
Woah, throwback
Please explain the Headphone Amp pedal. Still don't understand what this one knob does.
@Michael Moskal goo goo!
This pedal is fantastic. Tried it for the first time today. She will be mine.
That's great to hear, S.W Matteo, thanks!
So fun!
Good live demo of the range. Never even heard of this thing until yesterday while looking for something different than just the run of the mill fuzz. I had a band mate that had the Fuzz Factory and I want something similar, but more versatile. Pretty set on the Haunt as it seems to cover it all with an easy usability. Tame fuzz all the way to the extreme stuff.
Thank you great to hear!
Awesome company awesome artwork decent fuzz pedal
ha
The black knobs !
Wicked!
Very useful video, and cool sounding pedal. Thank you.
thank you!
This might just be the fuzz for me!
Anyone want my keeley velvet fuzz for their haunt?
Cool demo. How would you say this is different from the previous model? Obviously, there was a 3-band EQ. I'd love a little bit on why the changes, as I decide which model is best for me (previous or newer one). Thanks!
@benjamin monckton No, I didn't get a response here. OBNE has been a bit more responsive to other comments of mine on RUclips videos.
Hi Ben and Andy, not sure how we didn't see this exchange before. There are some primary outlying differences between Haunt and Alpha Haunt. Both are based on the same circuit and are similarly voiced. With the larger footprint of the Alpha Haunt comes the addition of the 3 band EQ, two Low Pass Filter options, Voltage Bias, and in lieu of the mix control found in Haunt is the "Enhance" control which acts as a boosted signal that can be blended in parallel with the fuzz.
They are different variations of the same origin voice. Haunt is a powerful, no-nonsense gated fuzz that works great in tandem with low-register instruments. Alpha Haunt is also that and further allows allows for nuanced tone sculpting ranging from dynamic clean boosted tones to a fully gated and sputtering fuzz.
@@oldbloodnoise Woah- great reply! That answered all of the questions I have for now. I'm still looking for a good fuzz to work with/ instead of the EQD Plumes (drive section is being rebuilt). Definitely a tone tweaker, so it looks like it's Alpha Haunt all the way. Big thanks.
@@oldbloodnoise Hey there,
What is the difference between the newer and the older version, though? I can see they have different knobs and the power jack is in a different spot, and one has a range switch as opposed to a mode switch. Which is the newer version?
Thank you!
@@Skrubenz The one with GREY knobs and RANGE toggle is the newer version (V2).
Not super sure about the changes between V1 and V2.
Is it dead silent or like any other fuzzes?
diming the gate will make it pretty much totally silent.
What’s the guitar?

My haunt fuzzes sadly don’t work :(
shoot an email to repairs@oldbloodnoise.com and explain the issue and we will get it fixed for you!
Okay! Thanks.
What are you doing to them? Watch the power sources, and don't get them wet, and you shouldn't have problems.I never heard of issues with OBN builds.
Good enough for Manchester Orchestra? More than adequate for me.....
Mike stand
His name is Seth.
WANT
GET
too much volume loss when you switch that little left toggle, and you get fuck all use out of the tone control when that toggle is switched left.
Apart from that it's fuckin mad and great.
You talk too much.
I'm trying to hear the other thing.
