    Amazing what you can do with a free program.
    The most important part however is that someone explains how to do it because otherwise you do not know how to do it.
    Thanks a lot for the video was very useful I have to decide to learn how to use Krita, I like as a program especially for the vast assortment of brushes.

    Note: You could use the perspective transform for making one of those PlayStation 1 era pre-rendered RPG games. (which were awesome)

    • @Gdquest
      @Gdquest  7 лет назад

      Yup, although it'd be quite time consuming. But you can use that to mix and match pre-calculated 3d graphics and digital paint for sure! :)

      They are all there when you use the free transform tool (Ctrl T). For the full tutorial series (everything's shown in earlier chapters): gdquest.com/game-art-quest/volume-1/krita-tutorial-for-game-artists/

      Tweened transform layers are coming in the next version, dunno if that includes perspective already, but it might.

    Holly shit I just got myself on why would I buy photoshop? I didn't have that easy to use liquify tool in Gimp, but from now I think why the hell I need to spend money? For smart objects? If Krita would or already have it I think there will be no reason to buy photoshop or even Corel Draw anymore. Devs made Krita as powerful as Blender, the best replacement of Max and Maya for my needs. BRAVO!

    • @Gdquest
      @Gdquest  7 лет назад +2

      Krita is not Photoshop, but if you don't need Photoshop's photo editing or webdesign related features, sure, Krita might be just the perfect match for you :)

      GDquest yeah, I'm a beginning gamedeveloper, have watched lots of tutorial stuff where photoshop was used almost always (not counting tuts with mari/substance painter used in), but I can't say a thing that krita couldn't do compared to ps in texture design. Just thank you for that awesome tool :)

    i think its silly and lazy

    • @effrin999
      @effrin999 7 лет назад

      Im able to knock it out by hand and i am proud of that ability.But if you need it to nail down perspective, go right ahead

    • @Gdquest
      @Gdquest  7 лет назад +4

      As a designer, your job is to produce concepts, ideas, not to draw details by hand. As far as a concept artist is concerned, using such tools is simply efficient. Anyway, in order to use it properly, you'll need a good understanding of perspective: the tool won't give you that skill out of nowhere

    • @monicaokami
      @monicaokami 7 лет назад +3

      effrin999 That's the opinion a lot of traditional artists have about Digital art in general. I went from traditional to digital recently and I find them equally challenging, because both require a different set of skills. If you can do all this by hand, that's great, if you get it perfect every time, but the tools he generally makes show better ways to go about things. It's certainly *not* lazy to educate yourself on the features of a program that could be a lifesaver.

    • @effrin999
      @effrin999 7 лет назад

      digital, traditional, i care not which. Im gonna knock out the best imagery i can. Im not gonna pick 1 and stay loyal to it, thats crazy....I think youre using the same skills in either.SOftware programs have FEATURES,and knowing how to use them isnt a skillset.

    • @monicaokami
      @monicaokami 7 лет назад +1

      effrin999 Tell that to all the media arts college degrees that require you to take courses where you spend months just learning how to use features because the companies who hire people with those degrees expect you to know how to use those same features in a variety of different programs
