I recently noticed something in episode of "The Boys" where Huey visits the home for child supe orphans. When they're scrolling down the screen, Marie's picture appears. Season 3 episode 2.
Sam was being tortured by Dean Shetty for almost his entire life. There probably isn't a single non-supe in his life that ever treated him well. I don't think his radicalization is too far fetched considering his background.
All humans have been shit to him. Almost all sups have been supportive. To learn the one sup who was terrible was being groomed and manipulated by a human was probably revolutionary moment in his brain. Like the only human kindness he's now known was used by to control and manipulate a sup.
Sam agreeing with killing Shetty makes perfect sense to me - she is the person responsible for holding him prisoner, experimenting on and torturing him...for years.
Yet again, I want to call attention back to the first reaction. Oak made the connection after episode one that Marie and Newman might have the same power. No one else who I have watched has figured that out! Props to you
Sam didn't get "brainwashed" in ten seconds. The seeds of hatred towards ordinary people have been planted since the day he found out about compound V.
Yes and also no Sam has the mentality of a child due to what he’s gone through so he was basically a sponge for things that were close to what he was feeling
Sam only needed one reason to blame a regular for what kate a super was doing. Yes kate was groomed. But sam was like full on excited to be able to shit all the blame away from kate.
I do think that Shetty was telling the truth about how she felt about Cate. I just think that didn't matter to her as much as her mission of taking down all the supes. She kept talking about the "sacrifices" that would have to be made, and I think that's how she saw Cate. She did care for her and Cate saw that when she touched her - but she thought the "greater good" was the elimination of all supes. I imagine she really would have taken Cate with her on the run, trying to keep her safe as long as possible until the virus eventually caught up with Cate and took her, too. :( She really is very similar to Butcher in her views. :-/
You guys the first people I’ve ever gone out my way to pay for your patron I’m a massive fan! For the gaming channel aswell please consider until dawn it would be amazing
Remember when they said that Marie had some sort of benefactor? Now you know who, and why. Also, in the episode of The Boys when Hughie was at Red River, you saw Marie's profile on the computer screen. I like that theme between the two shows of "do you want to be a star, or do you want to be a hero". Because most supes are in there for the former, not the latter. Honestly, I think Neuman is still a big ass wildcard though. We don't really know anything about her motives or agenda, other than that she tried to keep herself and her daughter safe. I'm also curious about her daughter's father? I don't think they ever named him so I wonder if he plays some sort of role too.
@@BaddMedicine thought so, but good to hear! Still, for the sake of the viewers who might be watching along, without watching ahead, better avoid spoilers anyway! 😅👍
@@johncheshirsky8822high-5!!! I love your responsible spoiler control. I’m late watching, but watching along individually and would have disliked being spoiled this far along. Often folk are told they spoiled something and they just shrug & say ‘oh well’
The best part of this episode is the tie-in with The Boys. In The Boys, we are on the side of Butcher and killing/controlling supes. Yet in Gen V we’re positioned to support the supes. If Gen V was written from the perspective of Butcher and the Boys, we’d be all for a supe-killing virus and supporting Dean Shetti, we’d be going “wow, we’ve got a way to shut down Homelander and Soldier Boy etc.”. Yet the genius of this show is sneakily positioning us root for the supes who we originally wanted suppressed, where we never would’ve chosen the supes over Butcher and the Boys. They’ve given us perspective from both sides adding a whole lot of nuance to the Supes vs Humans storyline in The Boys.
I find it interesting how our point of view changes how we see the characters. Given the POV of Hughie, we kind of root for Butcher. Given the POV of the supe kids, Shetty is painted as a monster with dreams of genocide. But Butcher and Shetty are so similar and are the only people who would probably understand one another.
Would love to see you guys react to the film A Quiet Place! Their third movie is about to come out, you'd love the first one! Sending love from the UK!
Such an amazing episode and great reactions! I do have to disagree about Sam, I think he was against normal people since the compound V secret got out also every "normal" person he has met has treated him so horribly and tortured him etc I think his reaction and behaviour was actually very expected.
Not convinced Shetty is dead. We never get to see what she asks of Cate before they all gather at Shetty's house. There could be some sort of mind control vision stuff going on.
The testing to find a way to control Supes probably a Vought program - since Ashley & Polarity know about it. Making it a contagious disease is all Shetty's idea.
Completely unrelated, but seeing the Carmex in front of Mason Quinn made me feel supported in my addiction 😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂 Love watching your reactions and hearing your thoughts after!
I'm actually surprised that Vought in general and Mr Edgar let it all go out of control. Like: some supes are marketing and publicity. Many are a danger. Why did they create so many supes in the first place. And as we know, the parents who signed their children up for this, didn't pay money they received money from Vought, so why?
The next episode is going to really blow your minds. Sets up the next season of the Boys. Also I have an under rated sci-fi thriller for you guys to watch. Life (2017) Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ryan Reynolds.
Please watch the movie Society of the Snow. It’s probably one of the best movies made in probably the last 5 years. Such a beautiful and haunting film.
As far as we know, Sam as never had a good experience with human beings. Everybody that has hurt him has been a human being. Sam has killed a lot of human beings. It's not really hard for him to say F*** humans and to say that he's better than them, it's not hard. I think that most people think that he change too fast because of how the character was presented. You know, child like misunderstood and all of that, people don't want him to be bad. And a lot of people have forgotten one big thing. Sam is no longer on his medication, When Emma bust him out of the facility he was on medication.
Sam is insane period. He is easily led because he has no real understanding of anything. Almost there guys one to go. Time to look for in credit sceens.

In The Boys when Hugh goes to "adopt" a child, Marie shows up on the computer of potential kids!
YESS it's such a nice little eggg

Tying in the plane crash from The Boys S1 was a great idea!
Remember Shetty told Marie that she HAD a daughter over pancakes back in episode 3. So her motive was always right in front of us.
I thought her daughter was going to be Newman 😅
Just came home from the gym and I come back to a Badd Medicine upload. Cant wait for this episode
@20:03 - lol. Only on the The Boys/Gen V would you ever hear someone yell to "put the blood back in!" and have that sentence make sense.
Getting close to the end. The. You have to wait like us. LETS GOOOOO!

No spoilers but I can guarantee that the way this series ends will make you DESPERATE to see "Boys" S04!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They’ve already seen ep 8. You’re good.
been waiting on this boys👏🏾 nothing is over , nothing !
NOTHING!!!!!
20:35 more than being brainwashed in 10 seconds, he has been tortured by that woman for years, ofc that will look like justice to him
ooh man, am so glad I waited to watch it with you guys. What a fun patient era xD can't wait for next The Boys season.
i think group influence was key to Sam's turn especially realizing that there are others who also don't like what he doesn't like.
5:03 "That is a massive dorm room".
Remember that it is for two people. Half of the room is for Emma and the other half is for Marie.
Oh yeah! Second to last episode. LET'S GO!

@BaddMedicine The Supe that had the virus was ripped straight from The Fly. Even his movements and makeup were similar to Jeff Goldblum's.
There's an end credit scene in episode 8 so don't forget to look out for it 😉
