This track right here single-handedly lifted me out of a depression of a dark point in my life. I forgot the name to this song, went crazy trying to look for it, and I found it again.
I love it to but wtf haha did you go out on a killing spree and robb shit ?
Actually I have a pretty similar experience. this song kept me alive when i worked at wendys after a break up. I had to move in with my mom and i was in a newish place and things were weird. I moved to a city afterwards and in between a year i couldnt remember the name of this song but i had the first beat stuck in my head. it drove me nuts for a month but i obviously found it again 😂

This song is almost 30 years old, I am 24, I am so glad I stumbled upon this, it's like a breath of fresh air, today's rappers are good but their songs die after a 2-3 month period because there is no real meaning behind the lyrics.
Same
Damn youre right about that. They really just be saying anything that rhymes, but none of it is relatable or holds any truths.
Lasting for a 2-3 period is exactly what makes them shitty emcees. They’re fads that don’t last long bc the have no substance. Their music has no soul. It’s all about the money. Where’s 69 now? Who knows and who gives a shit? That’s where wack ass “rappers” like him are. The underground is where it’s at. It should stay there so it won’t get infected.

I was born in 2000 and I feel so unlucky that I wasn't born in the 90's or 80's hip hop was great back then
Willy Wonka lol I was born in 94'. but I didn't hear anything hip hop related probably until 2006. that I know of at least. you'd have to be born in the 80's and grow up in the 90's. I wish I could have grown up with this stuff as well
jessebrobin it also depends on your surroundings if your father or brother or cousin or friends were listening to hip hop then you would probably listen too but I was grown with this kind of music my papa loved jazz and hip hop and all my cousins that are born in the 90's were listening to hip hop and they also tell me stories about how great the era was and about the live concerts etc etc (btw happy new year)
Willy Wonka yeah that's for sure. My parents listened to classic rock n shit. I love classic rock too. But I had to find dope hip hop myself. And it has definitely taken over as top genre for me since I really started listening to music
