It’s well worth it. I lived there for years, and it’s one of those places I always think… “ if I wasn’t here. I’d want to be there.” Happy trails!

It's a wilderness "cherry stem". A historical road that was "grandfathered" in. Pretty common in Idaho.

If that's in a burn scar it could be a dozer line left over from supression efforts too. Beautiful area though. SNRA is one of my favorite areas on earth

The road was definitely put in prior to that Halstead fire from way back in 2011 or so. Lots of old mining and logging roads up there.
Definitely agree though! Stanley, and SNRA are my all time faves. I’m starting to learn however that the central coast of California is pretty rad!

    Kelbie: Rules, man! Rules.
LCO: I didn't go out there for rules, dude. I went out there to get away from jerks like you.
Me: Dam, wish I was out there in the Frank Church. No rules man!

If you don't understand how wilderness rules and time lines apply DON'T go into the wilderness. Driving around by yourself is why people like you end up needing search and rescue.

Oh relax. There were plenty of other people on the trail. Dead of winter in the area? Yeah that's a different story.
Flying a helicopter across the Caribbean? Yeah that's another reason to take an EPERB.
Why not watch some of my other content before making a 1/2 baked comment, and realizing this is what I do for a living? 🤙🏻

      I agree with Don't Go!!!
I have lived in this state for 53years and people that don't know the area or ignore the warnings are always having to be rescued or their bodies Recovered!
On a different note what kind of powerplant are you running? It sounds like the UPS trucks they drive around here.
