566.03 caused me lots of problems for me. In IRacing I had no end of stutters and judders with Win 1124h2. Fs2020 also was crashing. A roll back of the drivers by 1 version solved the problem for me.
I strictly fly VR 566.03 destroyed my system almost to the point I was done and just going to wait for 2024 to come out. I did finally get it back, no clue how or what changed, but there is a lot of stutters still. Heading back to 561.09 Thanks for your videos!
Curious if you have the Windows 11 24H2 update. I was using 566.03 somewhat reliably with maybe small stutters here and there that were almost unnoticeable. But after updating to 24H2 it seemed like I would get random heavy 2-5 second hangs where audio would hitch, game would freeze, and then suddenly it would just pick back up again. Rolling back to 561.09 right now to see if that resolves it.
No problems here with 566.06 & zero problems on an RTX 3070 with I0600k, the fact that they created a rollback feature tells me they anticipated some systems possibly having issues with new drivers, time will tell ???
Hi! The real problem is not the NVidia driver. Its the 24H2 update of the windows 11. Just turn off the game bar and the game mode in the windows 11 gaming settings and your problems will be gone
after updating win11 to 24h2, I had a huge performance lost. I rolled back to the previous version and my performance returned. I also rolled back to dlss 3.7.20. My sim hasn't seemed to like any of the versions afterwards. And I've been using 561.09 since. I noticed not as good as performance with the later drivers. But I'm running 3x55" 4K TV's, so I can definitely tell when she isn't happy.
@@CardboardSimI’m running triples too and my performance has been pretty bad lately with stutters. Guess I’ll need to check the driver and 24h2 to see if one of them is contributing.
@@Danimalpm1 yeah that update was a killer for me…after test flights from heavy obrx scenery to nothing but an airstrip and a couple trees, I was getting horrible stutters. I rolled back to the previous win11 and she went right back to normal. So im gonna leave settings alone for now.
@ I don’t normally keep my frame counter on but was looking at it yesterday and noticed my max frames were down from where they used to be. I used to get 45-48 fps at cruise and around 30 on the ground in the airliners and now I’m getting a max of 40. Even if I lock the frames at 30, I have problems at a lot of medium sized airports with dips in the low to mid 20’s. Don’t think I changed any graphics settings and was wondering if it’s just because the airliners have gotten more complex. I’m definitely going to play with it and see if I can find those missing frames.
I am not experiencing any problems with MSFS using 566.03 since installing it about 10/27. I did experience an issue with Alienware app that was also updated in the last couple weeks. I will roll back to 561.09 to see if that solves it's problem. Update: No difference with the Alienware app.
The problem may be related to 24H2. I have issues since installing that - not had any distinct crashes - more like rare occasional freezing in VR - but my flight yoke and throttle (Saitek) drivers are not loading. Had to switch off memory integrity so that 24H2 would load the flight control drivers. 24H2 also seems to be behind 23H2 in terms of drivers - i.e it tries to load Intel drivers that are not on par and up to date with those versions downloadable directly from Intel (i.e. my Intel GPU in my Gaming Laptop which is deactivated during 3d applications when the RTX 4090 GPU is active). I am not going to roll back to 23H2 though - just going to sit it out and hope that drivers will be more compatible with time so in hind-sight, installing 24h2 was not such a great idea at this point - but I am hopeful taht it will be ironed out in time.
im having stuttering issues over cities, in the cockpit mainly on a PMDG767. Ive tried to adjust the settings. also the pmdg FMS if clicking too fast will lockup the entire airplanes and no buttons will work.
565.90 caused constant Diablo 4 crashing for me, as well as a BSOD every time my PC tried to update so I rolled back to 561.09. was having no issues until today the stupid WU tried to forcefully update which gave a DX error code. last time it was the September cumulative update causing the crash, but this time it managed to finish updating. to be on the safe side, I updated to 566.03. haven't fired up any game yet. hope it works.
I keep the 556.12 .... no issues, super smooth on my pc .....each time i updated to newer ones it messed up msfs... freeze in the Fenix, CTD etc ....next time i try update driver might be a driver which explicit solves MSFS issues and is mentioned in the release notes ... might happen for MS2024 but no future driver will get MSFS2020 perform better etc.
3070ti here. Haven't been able to complete a flight since I installed the Nvidia app. Rolled back to 561.09. Still CTD every single time taxiing to the runway.
Hey! Have you tried clearing your caches? The only other thing would be just to use DDU and completely uninstall the driver and app. This has happened to a handful of people, no idea why unfortunately.
iv just today reinstalled rolled back to the 561-09 after the app updated to 566,03 the stutters were shocking as im using it on msfs2020 the stutters become evident very quickly, will do a full flight tommorow to see if theres been an improvement needless to say it cant be any worse, when on approach into the main airport in moscow the whole sim froze stuttered and continued, first time its ever happened like that, 14th gen i7 with a 4070 ti 32 gig ram with 2tb ssd
I'm on 560.94, everything beyond that has had issues for me. This 566.03 caused something that was acting like 5fps max frames even though my headset showed 40 locked.
I'M runninig 566.03 on 24H2. No issue here. But I don't install the Geforce experience. I only use the drivers. Maybe get a look on only drivers without experience install
What do you consider to be stuttering? I sometimes see a slight flicker, and it happens randomly. It does not influence my flight at all. I do not think this is an issue due to the driver, but it may be due to something else running on my PC or a drop in my connectivity. Overall, it is fine for me. I have a 14900K with MSI RTX 4090(Xtreme) and DDR5 96Gb memory, FPS set at max 60FPS (due to monitor), which fluctuates between 58 to 61 FPS; my settings are all at ultra, except for a few items, which I have turned off as per my preference. I very rarely have a crash to desktop, which I used to have about a year ago. So I am asking if the stuttering being talked about is happening all the time, or is it just an occasional flicker, in which case, it may just be for another reason other than the Nvidia driver? Maybe I am wrong, but I am very happy with the overall performance and wonder if the driver is the cause? I would imagine that rolling back and forth between drivers would be more problematic than just keeping the driver up to date.
Perhaps the latest driver is better for higher end systems and cards. I have the same processor as you 64 RAM and 4070 super. I fixed a lot of my problems by completely uninstalling that latest driver and reinstalling. I also had corrupt files which scannow fixed and running DISM PC health check. I also upgraded my Internet which I think has made a big difference. It will for 2024 for sure.
So I haven't used my pc in 3 weeks and today I updated the driver and downloaded the new Nvidia app now suddenly my sim always crashes at the menu. I reinstalled the sim and cleared the community folder but the problem still persists. Do you think the new app or the driver is causing this problem?
My Nvidia App does not show the line at the bottom to rollback the driver. Due to flashing on the screen I would roll back if I could. Love your informative videos.
If you just installed the App or if you if you did DDU before you installed your most recent driver it won't be there. So basically you'll only see the driver to roll back to once you are on your second driver in the app, if that makes sense.
@@IslandSimPilot That's exactly what happened. Thank you. I downloaded the previous driver from Nvidia and installed it. It works better, And the app now shows the rollback option at the bottom. Thank you.

Yeah, 24H2, but I was having issues prior to installing that which I just couldn't put my finger on. And I've read now about quite a few people with the same.
Running Win 11 24H2 + GeForce 566.03 on i9-13900KS + 4090 = No Problems. Installed MSFS 2020 only once 4 years ago. I also ran the MSDFS 2024 Alpha without any issues.

Hi Captain alls good with the latest driver except i had two occassions where the sim crashed while i was flying the fbw a380 dont know if its the driver or the aircraft itself.
@IslandSimPilot POSSIBLE SOLUTION - I had issues as well. I couldn't uninstall the driver prior to 565.90. It came down to an optional Windows Update. I do not remember what it was called, but this update is gaming specific. Try this as well if you still are having issues. This resolved all my problems and MSFS runs great, although I have not updated to 566.03 and will hold off until absolutely necessary.

We understand that you need to test a new driver for an hour or so, but does the video have to be that long? What if you do the test, and then give us your impression in a shorter video? Just a tip. 😊 And when it comes to new drivers, there are always someone that get into problems. But I think the majority of the users are fine. I haven’t had any problems with any of the latest drivers the last few months. So it might not be the driver, even if it is tempting to suspect so.

I have problem with this game from update to update. Sad to say. Have no problem in any other application than this. Of course this is a "top-end" application needing it´s power. That is for sure. Still they choosed to go from "2020 will be supported for 10 years." To releasing 2024 with a more "cloud-based solution". For me it seems obvious that they came to a conclusion that the infrastructure of 2020 was not stable enough. Congrats to the ones that have no problem at all playing 2020. I will give it some months before I might buy 2024 depending how it will work for the ones buying it before I might.

I think that’s going to be true for most people, but I’ve seen enough reports of issues with the 566.03 that I thought I’d do this video. It’s possible that the 24H2 update works well with the new driver and it’s a 23H2 issue. Hard to know. But more than a few people have had problems.
@@IslandSimPilot Since installing 24H2, the only anomaly I have noticed seems to be Facebook videos, although it seems to be a worsening of a prior issue where while playing a video, when an ad would come on the volume goes to max. Before 24H2, I could quickly adjust the system volume down. After 24H2 the volume of the videos during ads cannot be turned down, system volume has no effect, during the ads it is full blast, and the volume slider of the video is removed during ads, so it can't even be muted. As far as I can tell, it is only Facebook. Sorry for going off topic, I know you also have a video dedicated to 24H2.

I can’t assume that there is nothing to do about this problem. I am sure you can find the fix..🙏🏽 nobody has so far; but I am sure that you can. I am even willing to pay for that because it ruine my sim expérience since I am gambling each time when I am about to land, if it’s gonna freeze or not. It would be amazing if you could help us to find the solution 🙏🏽 thanks again
Hey my friend, thanks for the kind words! I have been looking into this on and off over the years, maybe I can find something. If so I will definitely do a video!
@ thanks for your answer mate 🙏🏽 and thank you for considering the problem. A lot of people in the community are experiencing this issue, I am sure you will receive a lot of audience and positive comments from people if you manage to fixe this! Aslo, I can give you a list of all the tests I have already done if that can help you…

@@lauritamel9703hey! Thanks for the tips, I will try it and tell you the result! So I set 10GB in the NCP, but do I have to activate the cache also inside the sim ?
@@lauritamel9703i did what you said, inside the Nvidia control panel + inside the Sim, and it’s working so far ! It’s a lot better. Dude , did you clear/delete your MSFS rolling cache ? That causes horrendous stutter on low altitude flights (like final approaches)… this is a pretty well known prob
566.03 caused me lots of problems for me. In IRacing I had no end of stutters and judders with Win 1124h2. Fs2020 also was crashing. A roll back of the drivers by 1 version solved the problem for me.
always the new driver never have problems
I strictly fly VR 566.03 destroyed my system almost to the point I was done and just going to wait for 2024 to come out. I did finally get it back, no clue how or what changed, but there is a lot of stutters still. Heading back to 561.09 Thanks for your videos!
Gladly, my friend, thanks for the support!
@@BattleCorgiVII-up3wv did you solve it?
I had ctd's, stutters, pauses, sim not loading etc. I deleted the rolling cache, fixed, now no problems smooth as butter.
@ wow. Yea I would check win11 update, dlss version, and nvidia driver version. Clear gl and dx cache. That’s what did. Good luck.
There is also an issue with updated Intel bios for 13th and 14th gen CPUs and the Nvidia driver 566.03. Downgrading to 561.09 fixes this.
I have a RTX 4090 and MSFS now likes to crash when cruising, explicitly saying "video driver issue". So yeah, we are having real problems right now
still got the 560.94 with my 4070 TiS , runs fine, no problem and i do not have those new games that the new driver supports anyways
I am not experiencing any problems with MSFS using 566.03 since installing it about 10/27. I did experience an issue with Alienware app that was also updated in the last couple weeks. I will roll back to 561.09 to see if that solves it's problem.
Update: No difference with the Alienware app.
You just made me want to get the latest drivers lol
thank you the info so far so good for me
Great to hear, big Mike!
I am on 24H2 and the latest nVidia driver and have no issues.
im having stuttering issues over cities, in the cockpit mainly on a PMDG767.
Cache yes. DDU Yes. Still CTD
iv just today reinstalled rolled back to the 561-09 after the app updated to 566,03 the stutters were shocking as im using it on msfs2020 the stutters become evident very quickly, will do a full flight tommorow to see if theres been an improvement needless to say it cant be any worse, when on approach into the main airport in moscow the whole sim froze stuttered and continued, first time its ever happened like that, 14th gen i7 with a 4070 ti 32 gig ram with 2tb ssd
No problems for me, am on latest NVidia App, latest drivers - 566.03, Win 11 23H2
Only a couple weeks and all of our performance problems will be solved hopefully
I've also got the driver and have no problems. One thing I don't have is the nvidia app, I never install that. Could it be the app?
Hello is w11 24h02 the problem. I have installed nvidia 566.03 w10 run well. rtx480 i9 13900 z790 32gb ddr5. All in ultra vr setting
So I haven't used my pc in 3 weeks and today I updated the driver and downloaded the new Nvidia app now suddenly my sim always crashes at the menu. I reinstalled the sim and cleared the community folder but the problem still persists. Do you think the new app or the driver is causing this problem?
@@tommi2187 a few people have had this happen. Did you trying clearing the shader caches?
Any particular driver version you recommend?
could this affect warzone as well? Like i just before this update i can't play warzone it just frezees my pc.
That reminds me that I haven't updated my drivers for months 🤣
I don't have that "Previously installed driver"- option.
That must be the first driver you've installed with the app?
@@IslandSimPilot Yes. I used GeForce Experience before I watched this video, but I found that older driver from Nvidia site.
Thank you.
I have been running 566.03 since Monday with zero issues, I am running Win 11 23H2 (i7-12700K + 4090) I am curious if you are running the new Win 11 24H2
Hi are you still using the latest windows11 beta version?
i am using 566.03 with no problems at all i also have never suffered from any form of stutters
I have RTX 4070, this driver and Win10. No stutters, ctd etc.
I dont have the option to revert back to previous version in the lower left its not there, What I have wrong?
If you just installed the App or if you if you did DDU before you installed your most recent driver it won't be there. So basically you'll only see the driver to roll back to once you are on your second driver in the app, if that makes sense.
MUCH better sound
No problems with the latest Nvidia driver on Win 11 24H2
Outstanding, appreciate you and all your videos. Tried it and so far everything is running great again.
So glad to hear that, thanks for the support!
Hi Captain alls good with the latest driver except i had two occassions where the sim crashed while i was flying the fbw a380 dont know if its the driver or the aircraft itself.
I'd keep an eye on it, it could be the plane. There are a lot of reports out there for issues with the most recent drivers so I thought I'd share.
@@IslandSimPilot Appreciate it Captain
should have stuck with my old driver only downloaded the new driver because of veilguard now all my games stutter.
561.09 here on a 4070 Ti, no issues whatsoever
have the 566.03, none of the aboves i see

@ thanks
@ only issue is dlss dont work well for me so i been doing taa
I have fps drop and low graphics with gtx1660
I noticed that till after a few restarts.
We understand that you need to test a new driver for an hour or so, but does the video have to be that long? What if you do the test, and then give us your impression in a shorter video?
Just a tip. 😊
And when it comes to new drivers, there are always someone that get into problems. But I think the majority of the users are fine. I haven’t had any problems with any of the latest drivers the last few months. So it might not be the driver, even if it is tempting to suspect so.
Hey Erik, one thing I always do is post timestamps and indicate where the actual discussion/conclusions are, not sure how many people even notice that. But I do have a lot of people that really like the longer videos. I do understand that opnions vary. Hope you're doing well.
@ I am doing very well, thank you. And I appriciate your videos very much. Thank you for your effort. 👍
Really bad stutters today
And wait Microsoft solve this issue to turn them on again, If You really need to use them
I am running 566.03 and it is running fine, and even better after the Win 11 24H2 update. I have an i7-13000F / 4070 / 32 GB DDR5 no crashes, no stutters, all scenery settings ultra or maxed sliders.
Someone mentioned that the problem is with DX-12. I went back to DX-11 and no longer have problems.
566.03 is shit driver roll back to previous one or wait for new driver that's it !!
NVidia explained you need to install the latest 566.03 driver because of security issues.
I was getting crazy because i updated on october my 4090 drivers 561 from october and on my 4k monitor the resolution start to glitch going into 1080p square on my monitor and the rest of the image was mashed on my dekstop and it was glitching flickering back and fort like that, at first only on until dawn, after it started too in a quiet place the game and descendant too now with the latest drivers avaiable version 566, i rollback to 560.70 and don't have that problem anymore, this issues is crazy, game and device breaking
