This is the best hands on video I have watched!! I was able to fix my random loopy top stitches. I was so frustrated!! YOU!! should make more videos! YOU know what you are talking about, YOU get your points across and are easy to understand and YOU covered all the possibilities which are NOT covered in the book. Please do more videos. Us newbs need your insight and knowledge.

Most informative video I have watched about tension! I have been dealing with loops on back of quilts and my dealer didn’t know why even after she adjusted tension. They Never checked my bobbin or rotary spring! I run a 50wt Aurifil and/or 40 wt Omni and fight tension constantly. I’m checking and replacing these two items. I was told to stick to one thread weight and type and that’s just not good enough for me, these machines should be able to run whatever thread weight you use, or at least run an entire quilt consistently.

Hi Just checking your thread tension in your bobbin on the towa guage with Omni thread did you say 280 ?? as the gauge recommend OMNI. 40 wt. #18. 170-200 If you are running at 280 is there a reason for this Just curious as I am having issues only at the very start of each quilt first approx 20 stitches have random loops then the rest of the stitches fine no problems . I oil machine run a scrap wadding through to clean excess oil then tack my quilt down and the very first stitchers leave loops.

You never addressed the direction of changing the tension clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust ? For example, if you have railroad tracks on the back of the quilt, does that mean the top thread is too loose? I have had the current Gammill Plus Classic since 2007 and I have just experienced for the first time, these tracks on the back. I use Superior Threads 40 weight in the top and the same size in the bobbin and can't decide what to do?
