Excellent video. Very clear and concise. I broke a ruler with my needle while ditch stitching and threw the timing out and I had to adjust the needle bar as well. Your videos are so much easier to understand than the service manual. Thank you.

You also need to make sure the hook assembly is clean and oiled right I did that on my wife's lizzie 18 she did a whole quilt with no thread breaking which it was doing before so clean , time and oil .

My charm will not pick up the bottom thread after about 10 minutes of sewing with a new needle. Do I need to do this?

Check to make sure the needle is in correctly with the long groove to the front of the machine and it is all the way up in the needle bar. If this looks ok, please contact our tech support so they can further troubleshoot the issue with you. They can be reached at 800-659-8224 ext. 1. Thank you!

Got the needle in correctly.. I think it was the orientation of a charm as opposed to the regular gammill longarm. Finally got the tension correct but had to use one of those Genie Teflon Bobbins to get it right. One last issue: I get a birdsnest everytime I start a new area. ONce I have made about 15 stiches the tension is perfect! Does anyone else have this problem? I try really hard to use even pressure on the foot pedal so that I start sewing with an even slow stitch but it doesn't seem to matter???
