Hi! Stretches is not necessarily a suitable option for tendinopathy. Load management and strengthening are the key principles. You can do isometrics, you can do Plantarflexion with a theraband, you can do heel raises… and other general lower limb strengthening for Gluts and Quads too for general conditioning
Thank you for this video! Hope this will help my fee. I teach over 35 group fitness classes at week. I wear nice confotable shoes but still get pain in my achilles, Just on the head of my achilles.
If a 14 year old patient complains of heel pain and pain on the tendon itself, does it mean they have severes disease, would adding a heel wedge help. Even though, if they presented with tightness at the TA tendon.
Hi! Good question! Ultimately if a younger individual presented with these symptoms it COULD be sever’s disease and therefore as you said it’s important to have this investigated and assessed for each individual
Very true on the load management part. Loved the reps guidelines

Apart from heel raises, is there anything else you would do to manage Achilles tendinopathy? Would you do stretches, or any other strengthening?
