TRY GRILLED EEL! KOREAN BBQ! I LOVE IT.
Everything is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍😀
To put it in a very personal way,
First of all, you need to know how to read Hangul. Don't worry, it will take only a few hours. And try this. 호떡, 호두과자(walnut bread), 붕어빵. Stop by a chauffeur's restaurant to try Korean home-style food. And go to a hangover soup restaurant and try one of the favorite foods of the common people: 뼈 해장국(bone hangover soup)
And there are many different types of 떡볶이(tteokbokki). Go to a professional restaurant to taste the high quality
Tenfura : fried in oil food : Japanese
Odeng : mixed fish meat
Japanese
Koreans tend to confuse that odeng is a Korean word and Tenbura is a Japanese word for Odeng. This is a total misuse.
Both Odeng and Tenbura are Jzpanese.
The first old lady who was selling teokkbokki in the street and gave him free .
What a touching moment considering she's not that rich. Koreans are so kind and generous. Love and respect from NY.
Yeah I can't wait to finally visit Korea one day soon!
The first lady was so sweet!! She was saying it was spicy in the beginning so she asked you to sample, then she said "thank you for visiting Korea; this is free for you. Sorry that it's too spicy for you"! That is so touching.
What touching moment considering she's not that rich. Koreans are so kind and generous. Respect Korean friends.
Oh thanks for translating 😊

That 아줌마 (old lady) was the best ambassador for Korea. Her kindness and genuine welcome reverberated around the world.
편견없이 그 나라를 알아가려고 하고 상냥하게 사람들을 대하셔서 좋은 분들을 만나시는거 같아요. 진짜 여행가라고 생각해요! 👍
You must be her first ever customer on that morning. The aunty's really shine after she saw you ken. Thanks for making her day. She looks very hardworking.
That women is so hardworking and her smile is so beautiful she is offering like a grandma god bless her 😍😍 love from india 🇮🇳

Hey Ken!
At the moment I'm learning Korean, and I find it super exciting to listen and be able to understand a few words here and there in your videos.
I really appreciate the uncut and raw interaction between you and the Korean people - it's like I'm there with you myself. I have never seen a video, and chatted and nodded to the content before, so I think it's really fun to see you enjoy Korea. The way you interact with Koreans gives the video a really authentic feel to it. I can't wait to watch some more!
I have been searching for videos like yours on RUclips before, but it's always super short and fully edited with random sounds and noises which I find sometimes annoying. I am so glad I found your channel!
Also, I'd recommend giving the translation app "Papago" a try if you want something other than Google translate. :)
Best regards from Norway!
Happy to hear that, thanks for watching 🙏
That first interaction with the free food was really nice.
This video just reinforces my desire to visit Korea. I would love to go to try the amazing food and learn about how they make the fermented pastes. the experiences you have had has shown what a beautiful country it is with such friendly, helpful and kind people.
5:55 To translate: It's okay. You said it's your first time visiting Korea. As a thank you, I'd like to give it to you for free.
So lovely of her 😊
What a day trying all those street foods ! Everything looks yum yum 😋 It's indeed a great experience, Ken. I truly appreciate your interesting content....enjoyed watching from start to end. Thanks a bunch for making my day. ❤💞❤️
I haven't been to Korea since 2001 when I was in the US army. Street food especially chicken sticks I miss.
I'm Korean. It'll be not easy to find trash bins on the street in Korea. Korean government removed all the trash bins on the street for various reasons. The main reason is to keep the streets clean. Overflowing trashes on the trash bins were so disgusting and nasty. and there were so many flies around the trash bins especially in summer. Then, people started to deal with it their own way. In a word, they prioritized the cleanness. By the way,, street food usually reflects the culture of a country; is easy to find, delicious and inexpensive. It is very good experience. Try many Korean street foods during your stay in Korea.
I like samgyeb sal , with soju megxu ...... remember those days ....
The old lady was thankful for you visiting her country and was sorry for your not good at eating her spicy food. Thats why she didn't accept your money.
That was very gracious of her. A great example to follow!
And thats why the portion was so small! She just wanted to give 5 pieces out of gratuity
@@yeayuh7354 no he clearly said that was enough, she was gonna put more.

It's amazing that you try new food in a new place. I hope you enjoyed Korean street food😊
Dear Ken Abroad....warm greetings from Germany....
It's great how you deal with people and situations abroad... always very friendly, grateful and interested!
That's exactly how you get along with people best---my experiences too!
I have never been to South Korea, but I was very impressed by the friendliness and generosity of the Korean people....thank you for these beautiful impressions.....

Ken. You seem to have had good luck getting free meals on your Asian travels! It's nice to see how friendly and generous these people are. ☺
Hey Ken, your interactions with the locals make your videos so pleasant to watch. Waiting for your next one 🙂
Thank you 😊 new video every Friday 🙏
Hey Ken -just started watching you and have been enjoying the South Korea and Indonesia videos. We just got back from Seoul. Everyone was also very nice to us as well and were very helpful. I want to let you know they will almost always be happy with a tip even if they initially say no. Especially with those older women, they are probably just getting by so we will leave something even if it’s on the side, say thank you and walk away quickly with a smile. Enjoy your stay!! I can’t wait to go back
떡볶이할매 너무 사랑스럽다
Great vid with great food, awesome Ken!👌🏻😍

Excellent video Ken. I learnt a lot. Looking forward to next one. 🙏🏼 🍔
Thanks for watching 🙏
Very good 👍 vlog Ken. Hope to see a longer vlog next time 😅
Another wonderful amd gracious experience with the lady. Two times you are heartfelt welcomed
Squid game is called 'Squid Game' in Korean, but they used the Korean word for 'Squid' which was likely why he didn't understand you. If you're curious, it's 오징어 게임 (ojingeo geim) :)
and there is actually an image of a couple squids with big hats at the shop :)
There was no misunderstanding. The sign at the shop said "dalgona cookies from Squid Game." 😂😂😂😂

Thanks Ken. the tornado potato is very curious for me! Hi from Siberia.
Looks soooo yummy!!🥺😻
Aww what a sweetie that lady was, aunty as you said ☺☺😚😚
Pro tip about the trash thing: In Korea, you won't find public trashcans, and same goes for Japan. I always carry a personal trash bag in my purse or bag when I travel there and dispose of at my lodging, or you can ask for a trashcan (pronounced "suh-re-ghi-tong") at restaurants and dispose small trash there.
Thank you for taking me on a tour of so many countries and regions.❤

Streetfood is the best episode
Your beautiful kind heart shines so strong that even the grandma sees it 😊 This after the kind man in the first day in Korea!
Tteokbokki is not regarded as a main course; it is more akin to a snack or a side dish. A traditional Korean meal typically features rice accompanied by pork or beef.
Nice to eat Korean Street food. I recommend try to eat Pork Meat(삼겹살), Korean BBQ(닭갈비)
Wow really delicious with soju, megxu , miss that
Ken you can not leave Korea without trying a corndog! Potato corndog and/or cheese corndog, they are synonymous with k-eats, also ARMY STEW!! 😋
enjoy
22:57 That little house is a shoeshine & repairing shop. looks like it's closed.
viel spass in korea~
Thank you for your objectivity and optimism, which help me to know more about the world. You are the first foreign blogger I have followed, and welcome to China again
Thanks 🙏
Hi Ken, I'm happy to watch your videos. I'm Korean, but I'm currently living in another country. When I feel homesick, I always look for videos about my hometown. I like your travel style, such as trying local food, and visiting supermarkets and local markets. The first lady who gave you free food and the man who paid for your food on the first day represent what we call "Jeong" culture in Korea. It is a culture of giving without expecting anything in return. I really miss this "Jeong" culture; I think it's a very precious part of being Korean. Anyway, I'm really happy that you enjoyed South Korea. Thank you for uploading videos about your travels in my country. I hope you and other foreigners love South Korea as much as I do. Thanks!
Thank you very much 😊
Annyeonghaseyo Ken, a real treat to take us along to see how you enjoyed all the different types of street food.😋Makes me hungry too.😂Yes it will definitely warm our hearts when one is being so welcome with such kindness and generosity especially in a foreign land.God bless her.🙏Certainly nice to have a nice beer after all the walking🍺Cheers Ken and have a blast in Korea!!Warmest wishes from Malaysia!!💕🇲🇾
Thanks a lot 🙏
Just as the umbrella broke I expected the suspenseful music to start and a guy in red and black to show up behind you haha.

Fish cake is called eomug in Korean and is eaten dipped in soy sauce. The word oden is Japanese. The lady at the stall was not good at English, so she explained it with a name similar to Japanese food.
Ken, if your mum is watching this vlogg I am sure she is warmed by the kindness of this grandma at the Tteokpokki stall🌹
Gotta love some tteokbokki 😃My favourite food is those Korean soups Ginseng chicken soup (Samgyetang). It warms you up 🙂
삼계탕 강력 추천

생선으로 만든 어묵 입니다 겨울에 국물과 같이 먹으면 좋은 음식입니다
Thank you for introducing us to your village. Looks lovely but I hope the rubbish situation improves
The closed store you found after eating egg bread is a shoe repair shop.
Ken, you need to adjust the MHz from 50 to 60 or 60 to 50 to get rid of the video strobe. Different countries have different MHz.
哇哇哇
The most popular beer brands are Hite and Cass. These are light/watery lagers and are designed to be refreshing; meant to be taken with food (pairs well with spicy food).
Kloud (Pilsner), OB (Lager) and Terra (Pilsner) are examples of more flavorful mainstream Korean beers.
I suggest getting Korean Fried Chicken and pair it with beer. Korea makes amazing fried chicken.
Bulgogi Jeongol is a favorite noodle dish (beef, veggies and noodles).
Korean BBQ is also a must try, but you may have to order for two people in such places. Some of the food smell will linger on your clothes so do this before a wash day.
You were eating at 12:01 is fish ham. = Uh-mook =Odeng = if fried one, call it Denfra in Japanese.
포장마차 할머니 너무 따뜻하네요 🥰
Those sweets next to the egg cake is a “walnut cake”. It is good too. My favourite is the ones that has a piece of walnut and red bean paste inside. Some I have tried sometimes no walnut or different flavour like chocolate, matcha, etc.
Trying out the Tteokbokki, fish cake n pieces of meat in skewers look yummy. But not for the Squid game biscuit, not to yr taste bud. The bun looks delicious 😋 The potato snack is good too. I noticed the places tat u hve been look clean. Tq for sharing yr street food eating spree today, Ken. Next video, pls. 👍🙏😍
🙏
The second lady misinformed you on so many levels 😂.
Dont believe a word she said! 😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤
The vendor’s sign said from “Squid Game” in Korean. 😂
Those fish cake skewers are commonly called 'odeng' as they were influenced by the Japanese fish cake stew 'oden.' In standard Korean, they are called 'eomuk.'
Lots of Japanese food or Japanese-inspired cooking methods entered Korea in the early 1900s when Japan colonized Korea. You can find many of them at street stalls and also restaurants. Just to name one, the 'Koreanized' version of the Japanese pork cutlet Tonkatsu -- 'Donkaseu' -- is an immensely popular meat dish in Korea.
Similarly, the Japanese were also inspired by the French Côtelette when they came up with Tonkatsu in the late 1800s. All in all, it's an example of how cultural exchange creates so many interesting versions of a similar dish that we can try & equally appreciate.
달러로 계산하니까 한국물가가 개혜자 되어버리는 마법이....
the spicy rice cake lady at the beginning shes delightful!

its so interesting you staying Yeong Deung Po area. most of foreigner staying Gangnam or Jongro or Mapo Area . By the way Try Jok Bal (pork feet, Korean version of Schweinshaxe, but more tender and soft)
Dongmyo Flea Market gogo~
Try pork grill, sundae, steamed pork liver and tanghulu 😊
31:31 The Dog Face. 😂
Lotte is an South Korean global company
My favourite when in Seoul (pronounced "Sole" in English if no one has pointed it out yet) is snow cheese fried chicken.
Snow chese sounds interesting 🤔
할머니 정이 넘쳐서
Man . cant wait to go to soul in a couple of months . ill probably gain ten pounds out there haha
떡볶이 어머니 넘 사랑스러우시다. 서울 살면 한 번 가보고 싶은데.. 아쉽다
Try some hanwoo. It's Korean beef. Less marbled than wagyu but a bit cheaper and easier to eat
U need to make it swet the line of the Popki candy before cut it. :D
Hi 🍻 bro
很友善的阿姨👍🏻
- Squid Game is OH-JING-UH GAME in Korean:)
- The fish cake(OH-DANG or UH-MOOK) you had contains a lot of flour so it was probably mushy. High quality UH-MOOKs which contain more fish are usually more chewy.
- We usually hold onto garbage until we
1. find a garbage bag someone left out and shove the garbage inside it.
2. throw it away at a cafe or restaurant or public restroom.
3. take it home.
4. litter.
*** Hi Ken! I enjoy your videos so much. You are polite and pleasant to watch! It’s crazy hot now here. Stay hydrated and healthy! Hope we get more videos soon!
