So many things to love about Air Edition's latest: the Swedish snow, the 787's lovely wing, the extra leg room, the wooden lunch knife, the random dogs in Sal, a very cool grey cat, and - save the best for last - those absolutely gorgeous kids. Incredibly, they remind me of my own granddaughters. Leave it to Leigh to be able to combine a fun family outing with an informative video on planes and their unusual destinations. Very enjoyable! Yes, we might have appreciated a glimpse of the mother of those beautiful girls, but then one can't have everything.
Another great video Gabe. I was on a TUI 787-9 last summer. The outward trip a good experience but the redeye home was not as good because the cabin crew force dimmed the windows and the breakfast was a rubbery omelete
Oh yeah I really hate when the crew force dim your window! Luckily that was not happening on these flights in either direction. Thanks for the comment!
We flew the sister Tui 787-8 "Mr Patmore" to Málaga last summer. I'm a nervous flier but I love the dreamliner. I feel better on it. I'm flying again in may and August this year both TUI, but unfortunately not on the dreamliner. 767 first then on the 737. My favourite is definitely the 787.
Yeah I'd agree among those the 787 is the most comfortable, but I actually love the 767 for comfort as well. I think it's always a nice ride. However they will tend to look and feel older inside. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@airedition no problems thanks for replying. I watch all your videos to help get over my fear of flying. I can only do 2-3 hrs on a flight but my best friend are planning on flying 7hrs to New York direct from Manchester on the aer lingus a321 neo in a year or so.
I also did this flight about 2 years ago! The approach into SID was INSANE!! I sat on the right side as we circled over Santa Maria on like 2000 ft for runway 01 which was incredible views!
@@airedition Yeah! I think our flight flew "extra" low that time because we kept the same altitude all the way around Santa Maria until capturing the ILS!
I have been on TUI multiple times enjoyed it was able to pick my seat in the app but last year on the way back from Cancun to Glasgow Scotland I had someone pulling my chair when getting up and coughing turns out she had covid so I caught it but not much you can do about other people. Overall a good experience on the Dreamliner otherwise our landings were smooth though.
I don’t know what’s worse, getting on the plane with a bad cough or pulling on the chair in front of you when getting up! Sadly that seems to be very frequent even post COVID.

After following your content over on the FR24 channel for as long as I can remember, I was very pleasently surprised to learn you also have your own channel with similar content. Not sure I fully understand how you manage to combine the two without "competing" with yourself but I'm now subscribed to all the content over here as well to make sure I won't miss anything 👍 Being an aviation enthusiast for all my life, your content for that reason alone is very interesting to me but what really makes your content stick out in a very positive way is how nice it's always presented. I hope you feel truly proud of what you've achieved and maybe another business opportunity could be to start market your content as therapy for those with fair of flying. I can see how anyone with that dilemma quickly would be permanently cured and start traveling all over the world after watching your amazing content 🙂
Thanks so much for the kind words! Basically doing more trip report style videos over here and the behind the scenes and special access on Flightradar24. The more the merrier I think. Good idea about the fear of flying therapy, I will keep that in mind!
great report! And wow .. for TUI only 13 years old.. I will be flying TUI again soon on a 24year old 767.. It`s the only 767 the airline have. so it`s always the same plane. funny right? haha
Great video! Loved the kiddos, it looks that they are well prepared for long flights! Quick question, were people able to bring hand bagage + personal item? Thanks!
Perhaps the wine stain was a restless child's victory against a parent trying to make something of the journey! Looks like your family travels well, however!
It looks like you had a pretty good time out there 😊 I loved the video. P.S. Is it just the section of the seat that makes me feel that the landing was pretty hard?
@@airedition found out that they operate the 737 max 8 on the route with the rough seats and no entertainment system... Yea... I might not book any cape verde vacations using tui because of that
In UK the only difference between economy and extra legroom seats is that you get the extra legroom (TV and food is included in economy). Would you say the extra legroom is worth paying for over economy? I’m 6ft 2in by the way! Thanks
It depends on the price they're asking but for me a few inches extra legroom makes a huge difference in feeling les crammed in, and I'm not even as tall as you!
@@airedition thanks for the reply. There are 3 of us travelling and total cost would be GBP150. Worth upgrading at that price as I hear that Dreamliner long haul seat pitch in economy is 34 inches anyway? Thanks again
Great video quality, but some things are factually incorrect. CV can be very cheap if you eat in the right places. Also, it's Sal not Sol. Maybe just the accent.
I can imagine there are cheaper places in CV (other islands) but are there any on Sal? It seemed to have consistently inflated prices which I assumed was down to the economy mostly revolving around tourism on that particular island. Meanwhile, not sure why you think I said it like "Sol" - that would be a completely different pronunciation!
Support my work directly, it would mean a lot! www.buymeacoffee.com/gabeleigh

Great video as per usual! I can see that your daughters are being prepared to take over soon! Beautiful family 😊
Thank you so much!
I'd classify this video as "classic" 😃
Hehe much appreciated!
Extra ➕ for the 🐈⬛
I hope you enjoyed CapeVerde my country... hugs. Come back soon... obrigado :)
Thanks, I did!
Wow that was some landing!! we are travelling TUI dreamliner to Florida in September x thanks so much for sharing x
Nice, enjoy it!
I just love how the stewardess on the PA making the post- take off announcement has a sweet Finnish accent 🥰
It’s a nice accent!
Spotted our PH-TFN🥰

When I went on the TUI 737 there was a huge queue for the toilets 10 seconds after the seatbelt sight went off 😮
Haha oh no!
I also did this flight about 2 years ago! The approach into SID was INSANE!! I sat on the right side as we circled over Santa Maria on like 2000 ft for runway 01 which was incredible views!

I’m getting on one tommorow ❤❤❤❤
Hope you enjoyed it!
Loved the co-hosts during your trip report!
Hehe thanks!
Interesting that it was one TUI Uks aircraft registered G-TUII 🇬🇧
Yeah! And British pilots.

Yeah funny. I love the 767 even if it's a bit old at this point!
Nice review! We are about to try out Sunclass a 339 at eco+ rows interesting to compare.
Nice! Please report back, curious to hear how that is. 😃
I was thinking of going there instead of Canary Islands but not sure. Actually never been to Madeira so may try there.
Madeira is my favorite among the three, though all are interesting! If you need tips let me know.
In the middle in the back is safest
Great video, would love to see you try Iraqi Airways one day! We have a 787, MAX 8 & A220s on the way
That is definitely on my list, would love to fly all three! Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Yes, I didn't see anyone have any issues with that kind of hand baggage combination.

Hehe definitely could be!
Most of the VS "delight" seats are in the rear cabin too...
Really? Interesting!
It looks like you had a pretty good time out there 😊 I loved the video.
P.S. Is it just the section of the seat that makes me feel that the landing was pretty hard?
Thanks! Yep the landing was indeed pretty raucous and hard.
Streets seem to be very quiet
Yep it’s a pretty quiet town!
The TUI Dreamliners have 3 cabin options
Economy
Extra space or extra legroom
And premium
Correct.
@@airedition I know
i wonder if they operate the dreamliner on the helsinki-sal route... I just hope that they do because its a 8 hour flight for gods sake😭

i love the camera quality! what are you using?
Thanks! This is mostly the Sony FX3.
Engines are lot more quiet
You can book your own seat, but i think it cost a little bit extra
This is true. In my case the system was glitching out when I looked into paying for seats, and I couldn't do it!
sad that the 767 stopped flying for TUI Nordic
Yeah!
...Men..vaenta.. bor du kanske inte pa Soeder? Det ser ut jaette myccket som dom lilla gator vid Soedra Teatern..? 😄
Nope not in Söder! 😄
From USA to cape Verde how many hours
The USA is big so it depends where! You’d have to connect in Lisbon most likely. A long trip no matter how you slice it.
@@airedition from Atlanta how many hours and do u know the cost?

Nothing!

This is not fair, Uk gets the 767, you get a Dreamliner and from Germany we will have to spend 6,5 hours on a 737….
Hehe, considering how few nonstop flights we get at Arlanda in general I think we deserve the break with this one.
Sometimes we get the 787 if your flying from Manchester

I would consider the trip worth it, yes. What’s your proposal, that people just stop flying?
