The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 Bluetooth speaker is a highly durable and portable Bluetooth speaker that delivers good sound at a good price. The Wonderboom 2 boasts a simple interface with relatively few buttons. But while that minimalist approach gives the device a clean appearance, it can make it difficult to figure out how to perform some basic functions, such as checking your Wonderboom 2 battery life.
Now let's walk through the steps to check your Wonderboom 2 battery status so you can get back to enjoying your Bluetooth speaker.
Step 1. Hold down both the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons on the front of your device for roughly three seconds. Eventually, you'll hear one of three sounds that will serve as your UE Wonderboom 2 battery level indicator. If you have a lot of battery life left, you'll hear this sound. If your Wonderboom 2 has about half of its battery life left, you'll hear this sound. And finally, if your UE Wonderboom 2 battery is running low, you'll hear this sound.

I heard a friend use their Wonderboom at a class last week and was amazed at how good the sound was especially considering how small it was. So, I got one and I could not be happier. The only downside is the lack of instructions. The so-called manual is almost useless so thanks Max for your brief but very instructive battery video.

i second this, instructions are not the best but device is awesome
On the inside of the lid to the box they have very simple and easy to understand instructions on every button. It's kinda easy to miss though.

Well, I followed one of comments here, and low in behold....it worked....to pair it to my phone. And also I did try to check the battery....again, following "i doubled tapped" and booya it worked!! Thank you for sharing and also to the person who mentioned...double tap...thank you too.
Just received my Wonderboom 2 - connected to the I phone with no issues. Started playing Jazz right from the start Candy Dulfer - and the horns are amazing- deep rich sound . The sound from this compact unit is excellent. No regrets on the purchase.

I found mine in the middle of the road so this video is extremely helpful to me and I’m very impressed with this little speaker the sound is on par with any other speaker I’ve used
I got mine about a week and a half ago and I love mine. It’s perfectly mobile but packs a crazy good sound and honestly, the battery life is more than enough for a trip down the river, pick-up game of soccer, or hanging out with friends.

I love the sound of the wonderboom and love that its connectable to my tv!!! My only complaint is i wish it woukd assist the tv's sound instead of replacing the volume all together

I'm very satisfied with my UE WONDERBOOM 2. This is my 3rd UE (Ultimate Ears) Bluetooth speaker, and I have been pleased with all of them.
I like it. Put a carabiner on it to carry it to the garden instead of wearing headphones which never stayed on my head. Sounds great. Easy to use. Although I would have liked a battery light to tell me I'm low on start up.

Got a 2 set buy, saved heaps... totally pleased with the quality and SOUND! Awesome when paired together, quality stereo whilst playing movies or music on my tablet, one spkr positioned each side of course. Party on the move 👍🏼👍🏽

Great instructions! The only thing I might add is to turn the unit ON first. I know this sounds absurd, but I have had so many returned because the battery level test, doesn’t work. You should see the looks on faces when I turn the unit ON first, then test.

Thanks for helpful tip. However, I wonder why does my WONDERBOOM 3 only come with Low and Haft sounds ?? Is it an issue of my speaker or an upgrade from the manufacturer?
I just bought one about two weeks ago - simple to use and much improved sound that the built-in speakers. The built in speakers on this laptop (a 2017 model MacBook Pro) are the best I've ever had on any laptop but the Wonderboom 2 is quite an improvement. whilst its unfortunate that the Wonderboom 2 doesn't come with a set of lights to indicate battery strength, another work - a - round is to look at the status of the blinking on - off light on top of the speaker - it it still charging it blinks on - off, a full charge the light turns off
Not a great solution admittedly, but a solution never - the - less
Maybe Ultimate Ears should follow the example of my Sony Bluetooth headphones, they don't have a series of lights either, but they do audibly tell you how much battery is left when you press the
the lower button of the left earcup, maybe in the next update UE only suggesting otherwise a great little bluetooth speaker (Good Size, Great Sound, Good Base, very portable and durable)

Sure…but does the machine have to be turned on to do this?..and how long to charge the lower tone to the top fully charged tone.

I don't know why but i like the two button method. It's different and it reduces the number of buttons on the surface
Mine makes no sound at all when I press the volume plus & minus signs. When I press the little line on the top, I see an orange light flash, & it makes a very deep sound, nothing like any of the ones you demonstrated. It used to work fine, & I've used it only 4 times, for about 30 mins each. According to my android ph settings, bluetooth is in the toggled on position. Can't figure out why it won't work. The instructions that come with it are useless. I'm.not even sure what the 3 buttons on top are... & when I press the tree icon on the underside, it dsnt light as another video said it would.
This is best speaker at its price range
I love this speaker-the sound, the size, the portability but I hate that it won’t show the percentage in my iPhone like my other Bluetooth speaker or a battery indicator besides listening for the battery sound. Went with another Bluetooth speaker for my husband because of that!
Just opened mine from July 2022 lol. Ig it doesnt use the UE app. Thx for the battery checking help/ hint. I had my white cord and the yellow o.g block plugged in for 15 hrs. The Internet said 5.5 hrs.
Sir my Wonderboom 3 not the same with your wonderboom 2, when the light is red the sounds is the same with 50% volume .
It just brought the black one $140 today

I feel like the audio quality and bass is better on the 2, but on some songs the distortion is more noticeable than other songs so its kind of a trade off from the first one. Better bass and highs but some distortion at high volumes
I completely agree. Being able to market bigger bass probably sells more speakers.
I don't know, I can see on one of my comments that I had sccueeded in checking the battry life. But now I did that procedure and it wouldn't do anything. no sound. but it will turn on and a white lite on top of it will lite up. Those "+ and -" are hard to push in. I don't know. thank you anyway.

why does it not come with a charger. Also 3s holding the +/- buttons does not work
My Wonderboom 1 also makes those sounds. It makes low battery sound while the led is red :(.

mine works different, i hold down the button directly on the bottom, and the same button on the top

Every Bluetooth speaker I have had would show the battery level on my iPhone, rather it was Bose or Altec Lansing or JBL. Why doesn’t these do that?

Fyi- audio quality is on point.
Anyone who just bought it, know this.. speakers need to break in, so its not gonna sound it’s best right out of the box. Mine definitely didn’t... an hour later, the bass really resonated..

Absolutely no reason to get first generation, no matter how good the deal might be. Bought two of these, and they're surprising clear with great bass. Had one on either end of a ~60' x 15' room with "outside mode" on, and it carried the whole party of ~30 people
can someone help me? i even reset my wonderboom but everytime i turn up the volume and press the plus button on my speaker it makes a beeping noise instead of turning up and idk how to fix it

I just bought it and i hate how they didn't make those things clear.
Ok, after a full day of charging with an original galaxy s10 charger and the included speaker micro usb cable, it still makes the medium charge sound (though logitech says it should take 5.5 hours for a full charge).
It doesn't even make a sound when you plug it to charge, i do not suggest you buy this crap speaker. The JBL flip 5 is around the same price and is better.
You can turn the box off put the cable on and the light will automatically turn on so then you know that its charging
What will happen if ue wonderboom 2 is over charged?
I think it stops charging after it hits capacity. Over time the battery will naturally degrade and hold less of a charge, but that's the same with all batteries.

I don't know that specific number. I'd recommend checking the Ultimate Ears website or the Amazon listing. Also, check the Q and A on the Amazon listing, as it may be in there.
How do you know when it is charging? Is there an LED indicator to tell you it is charging or when it’s fully charged?
The Power light blinks when you have it plugged in to charge. I think it stops blinking when fully charged.
